Tricity Windows and Doors Reviews (3)

We had our windows replaced by TriCity in JulyIsabella gave us a very reasonable price for the type of window replacementsShe was very knowledgeable about the products and did not try to sell us extras that are not necessary for our zoneShe was ahead on her expected schedule for installationThe installers were very professional, not your fly-by-night installersThey put drop sheets and cardboard on the work areas as they walked though the houseThey cleaned up and vacuumed after completion and helped to move furniture backOutside of the house, they picked up all loose pieces and swept the driveway for metal and wood debrisWe are very satisfied with the new windows and I highly recommend them for window replacements

Good Value, Terrific Product & Quality Installation.
I recently had Tri-City Windows & Doors of Cambridge replace all my windows with new double paned, argon gas, double low E vinyl windows. I looked at about a dozen companies & products having had some poor installation experiences in the past. I selected the windows based on the most window for the best price. There were some cheaper but they looked cheaper & lacked the argon & low E protection. Isabella impressed me as an honest person trying to build a business based on quality products & installation.

Demitri and Albert showed up to do the installation. I have never seen such an efficient & skilled crew. They had padded ladders to avoid scratching the sliding, they had buckets & pails attached to ladders for old caulking & frame pieces. They made cradles out of the old screens & neatly bundled the old frames up. There was little to clean up because of their working habits. Albert vacuumed as Demitri took old windows to the truck. They never stopped moving. Albert framed the interior with a craftsman's touch, lining up every joint. Demitri caulked the inside & outside of the new trim to provide double water barriers. They went brick to brick, foam insulated, shimmed & leveled. They never swore, smoked or tossed a piece of garbage. The site was cleaned & vacuumed again before leaving. I was truly impressed watching them work.

Unlike most window sales people Isabella showed up for the install, demonstrated how the windows worked, verified that the windows were inspected & had all the low E, argon etc. as ordered. She offered extra cleaning (that was not required) & an energy audit (at no charge) to verify the quality of the new windows & installation. The windows look terrific & should save a pile on energy this winter. I am not easiest impressed but his was a master crew.

BEWARE of the "gift" door lock & handle! I had Tricity install a new door & living room window after interviewing 6 different companies. I worked with the owner Isabella. I picked a standard white door. The glass is beautiful but the door came blue white & tar was left on parts of the door after they installed it. I brought the concern to Isabella who made excuses about color. Isabella had suggested I remove the tar with nail polish remover myself. I insisted she come see the work herself and because I still had to provide some payment she did agreed to come. Isabella came to my home & picked off the tar from the door with her own manicured stiletto finger nails. While doing so she ended up leaving a large dent in the caulking between the door sill where she was standing for approx. 20 mins picking off that tar. I still have some tar on my door to this day. She told me to keep working on getting it off over time. After Isabella left I noticed the dent in the caulking and brought this to her attention. Isabella had one of her installers come and fix it which I was happy about. Then 3 months after installation my door lock broke. I was locked out of the front part of my home for 3 days. Also the door handle was sticking & popping. I immediately brought the concern to Isabella who told me the door handle & lock were "gifts to make the sale more attractive so they are not under warranty". Isabella offered to call [redacted] for me at my expense. When I purchased the door/windows, I was told 100 percent warranty on parts & labor & you get a warranty certificate stating this. This does not say that it excludes the door and handle. I told Isabella that I expected her to fix the issue since she endorsed the product on my new door which broke 3 months after they installed it. Would you install a diamond into a fake gold band and call this good business & good quality? Isabella accused me (the customer) of being "aggressive". I did not swear, I did not yell, I did not make threats. I told her I was simply being assertive and expected a resolution or I would report the matter to the Revdex.com (an organization that is there to protect costumers/help with resolution). Isabella finally agreed to have Pop a Lock service come out to fix the door lock & handle. [redacted] came out and informed us that the lock was very poor quality & the switch on the door handle was not installed properly. [redacted] fixed the lock but said we will likely experience issues again and they moved the switch over a bit. [redacted] also advised that the handle would continue to stick and suggested that we pull-in before we open the door. Isabella refused to replace either of the lock or the handle with a good quality lock and handle despite this and despite the time/frustration she wasted on our end. In short, I think that this was a poor experience & I will not be doing business with Isabella in the future. I have not had any issues with my windows to date & I do enjoy them but given my experience to date I am anxious about future issues and them not being under warranty, BUYER BEWARE
