Review: My daughter was enrolled and participated in Tricks Dance programs for several years. They have recitals 2 times a year. Each year Tricks hired a company by the name of Video Tape It and DVD to tape the recitals, put on a DVD and send out to those who purchase the DVD. They require that you pay them $35 dollars at the recital and mail the DVD out. Historically we would get our DVD about in the mail about 6-8 weeks after the recital. The last recital was in June of 2013 over a year ago. I paid the $35 dollars by check at the recital which was cashed about 1 week later. After about 3 months, give or take, I started reaching out to Tricks and the Video Tape It company (which only has a phone number). I called the Video Tape It and once I got a hold of someone they had the wrong address for me. I gave them the new address, but never go the DVD. I reached out to Tricks by phone and e-mail (i have copies) and they were sympathetic and said I was not the only one and said they would help. Over a year later I have no DVD and have not received a refund. I feel Tricks is ultimately responsible since they hired the Video Tape It company. In any event, this company does not deserve $35 for not producing any deliverable. Please help make this right.Desired Settlement: Ideally I would like the DVD since it captures my daughter in a moment in time and I did not video the event since I purchased the DVD prior. However, if that is not possible, then I definitely want my $35 dollars refund, preferably with interests since its been over a year. I have placed multiple calls to both companies and e-mails to Tricks to no avail. They could have fixed this issue months ago.

This complaint originates from our association with a third party, who agreed to provide video/DVD services for our dance recital in 2013. This company, VideoTapeIt, collected money from our clients, with the promise to create the DVDs and send them out in a reasonable time frame. Checks were cashed, time passed and we started getting complaints that clients were not receiving their DVDs. The company owner was elusive and unresponsive. When contact was finally made, he reassured us that the DVDs were sent, etc, etc. We didn't even know which of our clients had ordered a DVD and he would not give us this info. After months of frustrating lack of communication or results, I personally went to the home of the owner, to acquire our own copies of each recital, so that we could make DVDs for our clients. Some of the DVDs he gave me were either the wrong show or blank. We finally received DVDs of all shows in the early summer of 2014 and are making the appropriate copies and delivering them to our clients. This has been a nightmare scenario. Needless to say, we will not use VideoTapeIt again. I have spoken with [redacted] Boyd and assured her that we will be able to deliver the DVD she paid for. This whole affair does not reflect the level of professionalism that we embrace at TRICKS. Unfortunately, our association with VideoTapeIt has reflected badly on us in a situation beyond our direct control.
