Dealing with Trico has bee the worst experience with a home builder I have ever had with a builder So a bit of history on this, Trico was originally wanting to build a spec home on a lot we wanted, but they decided they would let it go for custom build, so we proceeded to complete the deal with the lot hold Carmen, our salesperson was then given the file and I was working with her on closing the dealI had been given an extension as I was having issues with the bank regarding basement development approval as it was a construction mortgage which my broker had never worked on before So Carmen gave me an extension, and to let her know around 8am the next day on whether to proceed with the deal, and I gave her the green light on everything at 8:Then I heard back from her that Trico would not honor the late extension and they canceled the dealI was very upset at the email, so I immediately contacted Carmen and asked what happenedI was called a liar and was basically shut down and completely disrespectedI called Ryan as well as HR about the matter and never received one call back until two days later.I have never been treated like this or been as disrespected in all my personal or professional life Then to top it off once I called Trico to find out why they stopped the deal they said the deal expired, however I was in contact with Carmen the whole time and she had mentioned that I would have until the next morning to give her the go ahead on the deal which I didI the spoke with Ryan [redacted] later on and he had riddled me with a line of personal questioning regarding my purchase including questions about my kids and what school they go to and why were were moving to Airdrie, and where we lived in Airdrie prior to this purchaseI felt as though he was very intrusive and it was completely unnecessary A bit more background, we are former Trico owners who bought a home back in We had nothing but good things to say about Trico, but now I am seriously disappointed in the customer service I have received after thisWho cancels a 550,deal because you're a half hour late or even a day late? Such a dissatisfying experience after I purchased my home with Trico. Two of my family members had purchased a home with them as well and it's been nothing but disappointing with how they try to resolve issues. - They don't have any solutions or try to resolve it to benefit their customer that's invested with them. They believe a simply apology for a mistake made on their behalf will fix and make their client go away.

They have a $1500 reward for the individual who referred you to purchase a home with them. You have to complete the form at the time of purchase and as written in fine print at the bottom of the referral card, "Reward will be paid within 30 days of the referred customer taking possessions of their new Trico Home." As I did accordingly, I still have yet to see the reward passed to the individual as it's almost been one year since I moved into my new home. When I emailed the Area Sales Manager asking is there something I had missed and should it be taking this long for the reward to be sent out they told me they had no copy of the referral in my file. On top of it they had face to ask me do I have a copy of it, and if so to forward it to them. How would I have a copy of it when it was completed at the time of purchase and handed in with all the paperwork, as requested? They replied back in an email saying "Fortunately, we keep our files, organized and accurate if a referral was requested after the fact unfortunately it would have been to late. You would have been giving a copy and for sure we would have a copy in your file." They made it very clear, insinuating I was not truthful about completing this form or submitting it at the time of purchase because they would have a copy If I did so. They took no responsibility for a mistake made on their part, of misplacing my documents. I now see how they treat their customers for an inexpensive reward after they invest all their money to purchase a home with them as well as refer family members to do so as well. What a great way of saying Thank-You back. Well done Trico, you have disappointed myself and all of my family who bought with you once again.

I felt as though he was very intrusive and it was completely unnecessary.

A bit more background, we are former Trico owners who bought a home back in 2007. We had nothing but good things to say about Trico, but now I am seriously disappointed in the customer service I have received after this. Who cancels a 550,000 deal because you're a half hour late or even a day late? Then called a liar to my face without ever having disrespected anyone at Trico.

Took possession on December 9th 2014, got PROMISED that the trades day will be within 1 month. We did the walk round and possession on the same day, this was a quick turnover and was an already built spec home in Cochrane. To be honest the sales team at Heritage have been great, [redacted] has done his best but this is past the sales point but it does make him also look bad as he sells a bad product. One major thing is at the walk round there were/are stress cracks on the basement floor, not your typical hairline cracks. They are also raised by 3/32" and 1/8" wide, that was the last time I check 2 month ago. Trico said they would monitor the problem, not once have the been out to look at it so what is their definition of monitoring?? I did find out that the basement during construction had some trouble and to me it looks like the ground underneath was not packed correctly and also the back fill was not right which flooded the basement. I was not told this at the start but found out from a person on site, no names mentioned here. So I will be chasing the engineers report on this as it is a legal document if they stamped it. Then there was a bath tub repair, they screwed that up and I had to drag them out again on a long weekend. But the repair is still not fixed 100%. Lots of painting issues that were not completed at the start, painter said he would be bad in 2 days, never showed up. Paint drips on the exterior still not cleaned up after telling them 3 times about it. Trico report painter has cleaned the drips, took photos to prove they did not, still not fixed. Shower door sticks, still not fixed. I could go on and on, but I wont. Get the picture here, well I took lots of photos for proof. We still have not had a our 100 day inspection (its now 5 months), they will do every possible thing to get out of it. We all work jobs and getting time off is not easy. They know this and exploit the fact.
And here is the best one so far. We have our grading cert. so we are good to go for a fence. We have neighbors one side and a vacant plot the otherside which Trico still owns. We asked Trico if we could build a fence on the property line which we asked for no money towards and they [redacted] right refused. A selling feature for that plot as work is already done. So OK that plot could be open for the next 2-3 year the way the housing market is and I dont want that. We will build the fence on OUR side of the line, nope they dont want us to do that either. If the foundation is dug and the fence falls in its not their fault even though its inside our property line and refuse to pay for it.
