The Homeowners bought their house in September 2013, and inFebruary 2015 alleged that [redacted] “had put in wrong generic flappers orparts into a brand manufacturer toilet.” 1.  In 2013, the toilet tank came complete from the manufacturer with theentire flushing...

mechanism, which includes the flapper, already installed by themanufacturer.  [redacted] and its plumbing contractor did not installthe toilet flappers.  2.  The Homeowners bought the house in September 2013.  Regularreplacement of toilet flappers is a normal home maintenance item.  In2013, the toilet manufacturer had a one year warranty on the flushing mechanismfor the toilet model installed in the Homeowners’ house.  The Homeowners’need to replace toilet flappers in January-February 2015 is not uncommon, especially if the local water supply had high chlorine levels and/or theHomeowner used in-tank cleaners.3.  In April 2014, the toilet manufacturer changed the flush valve assemblyin the toilet model installed in Homeowners’ house, at which time themanufacturer changed its website information on parts and repairs.4.  In addition to the manufacturer’s and the [redacted]’s respective oneyear warranties, the [redacted] also purchased for Homeowners a 2 year/10year home warranty program.  To our knowledge, the Homeowners did notcontact the home warranty company.  FYI---Between early September 2014 andNovember 6, 2014, [redacted] had fixed all items on the one year warrantylist prepared by Homeowner.5.  The Homeowner first contacted [redacted] regarding this matter onFebruary 26, 2015, which was six (6) days after the Homeowners first called aplumbing company and after the plumbing company replaced the flappers. The Homeowners never gave [redacted] a chance to inspect the toilet or tocorrect any problems.  Most importantly, the Homeowner told us that shedid not keep the supposedly defective/generic flappers, so there is no way toconfirm whether the flappers were or were not “generic” or “defective”.

Review: My house was built by tricord homes in September 2013, after we moved into the house, we have replaced couple damages that has occured. Recently 2 toilets got broken which caused our water bill over $300 which usually is less than $100. A plumber came to fix it which cost us little over $220 and came to find out tricord homes had put in wrong generic flappers or parts into a brand manufacturer toilet. I called tricord homes office to report and I was asked to mail the receipt and have the plumber write out the problem fixed. I mailed copy of receipt to tricord homes like I was told to. A lady called me to tell me since I don't have proof, they not going to give me a refund. But they ask me to send them a receipt which they got. I'm disappointed with tricord homes and they can't be trusted with our homes because who knows what parts they used to build their homes?Desired Settlement: Just refund what it cost me to repair my toilet
