I used Trillium to move some furniture and other items from Calgary to North Carolina. Two antique, family heirloom, chairs were broken in the process. These were SOLID wooden chairs. How much mishandling does it take to break them into pieces?! I submitted a claim, but it's been seven weeks and I've heard nothing. [redacted]

This company moved our household goods from Calgary to Windsor via Toronto with a month of storage. The total payment to them was about $4000 less than the quotes from the National companies for the same total weight of the shipment. However, this company does not stand by their guarantees and normal responsibility for the condition of the goods and insurance to cover the items.
A large framed artwork was stolen from the shipment somewhere along the line of their transfers of goods or in their storage facility. The art piece is worth about $3500 and they have made no attempt to make an insurance claim or to get back to me to discuss what they are going to do about it.
Other than that, the contractors they use were OK, but they charge a lot of extras for any packing materials or time spent packing pictures and other stuff that you have not already done. You have to have every last item packed and ready in order to get the discounted rate they are offering in the estimate. Additionally, the original estimate was ridiculously low, but I checked the actual weight (from [redacted]' estimate) and multiplied by Trillium's cost per pound to come up with about $10,000 estimated cost. The actual total demanded (before delivery of your goods) was $12,500 and with the stolen piece of artwork the actual cost to me was $16,000 which is about what [redacted] and others were quoting right from the start.
So there was no actual cost savings using Trillium and nobody stood by their claims of an insured shipment. In fact the customer service people avoided calling be back about the stolen piece and I had to keep hounding them. They did not seem too concerned that someone in their organisation is a basic criminal. Eventually I gave up calling them and they figure I can't afford to take them to court... they may be correct on that issue.

So, I would not recommend using this outfit as it was generally a great disappointment in business relations and I lost a unique and irreplaceable piece of artwork during their moving process.

[redacted] When packing our stuff they used packing materials that we were not told were required and charged us $180 for them. Once our stuff left our home to cross the country it took them weeks to let us know what our weight was and eventually when they did it was double than what we were quoted. There is no way to actually check on what your items actually weigh. All our items were stored in Ontario until a truck became available to bring them to Halifax, weeks after our items were needed. They did not inform us that they would be storing our items in another province even though destination was Nova Scotia. When asking questions about our shipment we never received a response without asking 3 or more times. Our stuff was picked up in BC on October 4th, we requested it delivered in Halifax for October 28th and we did not receive until November 18th. Once it finally arrived to our storage unit we were told we had to pay more because the movers had to move it more than 100 feet from their truck, in a straight storage unit hallway with ample space, another $180 charge. They also tried to charge us for extra storage in Ontario even though they wouldn't deliver our stuff at an earlier date, we at least beat this charge. [redacted]

Most of my stuff made the trip from Winnipeg to Ottawa. Unfortunately I wanted, and had expected, all of my stuff to make.

Dealing with this company was a hassle from the second they got my things loaded into their truck.

The final price was double what they quoted for a one bedroom apartment.

On top of that there were at least two unaccounted for boxes (actually one box and a bag) and my vacuum. When they came to drop off the items they unloaded a chair that wasn't mine, which I quickly pointed out to them.

I called them immediately when I noticed items were missing (the bag and vacuum were to easy to spot) and they sent me the paperwork to file a claim. I told them that I wanted the items and asked them to contact the truck and they told me that they could check their warehouse but that the truck had already left to the next location.

I followed up by email no less than three times after asking if there was any luck locating my items. They would apologize, tell me they would contact the warehouse and message me when they had a reply and I never heard from them again.

I do not recommend.

I recently used Trillium Moving to move my household goods from Alberta to Ontario. [redacted]. I have so much of my items damaged, I am still finding things. Dressers scratched, boxes and bins smashed. There was no care taken at all. When they moved my belongings from the large truck to a smaller one pieces of furniture have gone missing. I was charged $325.00 for a specific day for pick up of my belongings. Their truck broke down and I was only give $125.00 deducted from the amount, I was ready they were not there on time. Also they charge you 3% charge to use a charge card. [redacted]

If you are looking for a moving company absolutely DO NOT use Trillium moving and storage. Besides being 7.5 hours late on move day which created a whole slew of problems, they gave me an email quote of $2,300 and upon arrival in NS charged me over double the quote price. They require a certified cheque before releasing my belongings, so your out of luck if they have not done the job you paid for. It took 6 weeks and 1 day for my belongings to arrive. They broke my king size bed frame and T.V, lost $150 worth of my belongings and damaged every single piece of my furniture in big ways. ( broken parts, gouged and dented) Their employees led me to believe the company would take care of damages done through an insurance claim which took approximately 9 weeks to process. I had to document with pictures all my claims of damage. The claim was over $5000 in damages and they are offering me $75. They told me I needed to have added additional insurance coverage to have had better coverage. That they are sorry for the damages done, but basically too bad.
They said that the money I saved by not getting additional insurance could be used now to replace the things they lost, destroyed and damaged. I paid this company approximately $5000 to lose, destroy and damage my belongings. Their lack of action is unethical and immoral. Please do not make the same mistake as me.
