Revdex.com spoke to Dave at the business and the following was relayed: The customer's complaint is with the police and the charges he was charged. He was billed at the police rate which is exactly what the police tell us to charge. He decided not to go through his insurance. As far as the actual circumstances of the tow, the complainant's wife hit a telephone pole and was blocking traffic. The police called us and when we arrived they told us to get it out of here and bring it to our shop until the customer or insurance came for it. We have no control over what the police instruct us to do.

Revdex.com spoke to consumer and the following was relayed: This company had no right to impound my vehicle. It is a brand new vehicle with [redacted] and I have free towing. I also have [redacted]. I was not given the opportunity to contact either. Additionally, I requested my vehicle be brought to a repair shop approximately a mile and a half from the scene of the accident. I was refused that also. Then they stated they are closed on Sunday so I was not allowed to pick up the vehicle then and accrued additional storage charges. They charged $50 for speedy dry when it costs $7.

On august 113 2016 we received a call from the town of [redacted] police department to respond to an accident at [redacted] and [redacted] involving a 2016 [redacted] that hit a pole. we arrived at the scene my driver felt the best course of action to remove the vehicle and get traffic flowing again was to drive the vehicle off of the pole and get it out of the intersection so he could safely put it on our flatbed and secure it for transport to our secure location till the insurance company could look at the vehicle. We do not set the rates the police do. We are 1 of four companys that tow for the town. Flatbed rate is set at $145 .00 cleanup and hazmat is a max of $50.00 and storage rate is $30.00 a day by calendar day not by hours . the vehicle in question was involved in front  end collision and was  leaking transmission fluid which  not only was cleaned up at the scene for environmental reasons but also needed to be cleaned of the flatbed and contained at our shop as well . so this customer was charged 145 for the tow 50 cleanup and hazmat control and 30 a day storage for 3 days plus tax . we picked up the vehicle on 8- 13-16 and it was released on 8-15-16. we provide a service that's fast reliable and professional we did not charge anything out of the ordinary we only got paid for what we did. lnclosed plese find copy of our sheet and town police sheet authorizing the tow.
