11/21/2014RE: COMPLAINT ABOUT OUR BUSINESSWe have reviewed all information and contract(# [redacted] -enclosed) regarding this customer and to our findings there is nowhere on this contract that indicates the purchase of a Second Right of Interment therefore the family would be responsible for the extra monies. The customer claims he contacted Trinity Memorial Gardens and spoke to an “Un-Named Female” who told him everything was paid and there would be no additional chargesWhen asked to give a name or if he processed anything in writing to support this alleged call; he could produce neither.Trinity Memorial Gardens displays a detailed price sheet in our office for all families to review and this is a requirement by the Office of Cemetery Oversight.Trinity Memorial Gardens serves hundreds of families every year and we can only base decisions on accurate information according to our internal recordsAnd according to the contract for second burial in Section 6, Lot 30C Space 4, NO contracts, agreements, letters, etccould be provided by the customer to come to a different decision. The comment made by the customer that Trinity Memorial Gardens knew of a Second Interment in this space and purposely said nothing about it, is ludicrous! There is no reason to single out an individual and withhold any type of information as suggested. Therefore, we feel our decision was fair

I again reject the blanket response from Trinity Gardens regarding this incidentI am growing tired of dealing with the personnel at Trinity and will contact the actual owner directlyYou have my permission to publish the complaint if you so chooseThank you for your assistance in this distasteful matter

Review: In 1992, my father and mother in-law purchased a lot at Trinity for the future internment of their cremated remains. The headstone of [redacted] included the name and birth year of his wife, [redacted], who was to be buried with him. In 1997 [redacted] passed and his cremated remains were interred at the Trinity lot. In 2006, mother-in-law purchased, and paid-in-full, a Trinity contract for internment with her husband to include an urn and urn vault, and opening and closing fees (with over-time labor protection). As Executor of he restate, I contacted Trinity about a year ago, as her health declined, to insure that when the time came, there would be no additional fees or charges. An un-named female at Trinity looked at the agreements and advised me that everything was paid and there would be no additional charges. Family plans were made with this in-mind.

She passed on October 21, 2014 whereupon as Executor, I contacted Trinity for burial planning only to be informed by a sales person that there would be a "Rights of Internment" fee due of $977.55. Upon speaking to Trinity co-owner, I was informed that this is "standard business practice" and although the contract does not specifically state anything about this fee, "there is nothing in it to state that there would NOT be a fee". However, since someone at Trinity advised me of no additional fees, the co-owner would cut the fee in half and only charge $428.00. As time is critical with a deceased loved one, the estate is paying the reduced fee, not in an admission of settlement, but to simply move things along and not hold the burial hostage to Trinity's demands.

To further this, I have filed a formal complaint with the State of Maryland Cemetery Oversight office. However, as that filing is not binding upon Trinity nor is it "legal recourse", I am filing a Revdex.com complaint in the hopes of settlementDesired Settlement: My desired outcome is two-fold: 1) since the $428.00 has been paid, I would like that amount refunded, and 2) I would like Trinity to specifically notify, in writing, any future or prospective clients of ANY AND ALL FEES. I feel that Trinity knew of the duel burial and purposely said nothing about the added fee until surviving family had no choice but to pay.

I am rejecting their response as they have provided no response other than a price list and a copy of an as-yet unseen document from their files. Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Regards,

Review: I am filing this complaint on behalf of my Step Dad [redacted]. to whom he was married to mom [redacted] whom passed away on July 8, 2013. My step dad and my mom purchased a preneed burial contract from Trinity Memorial Gardens which included the burial site for both my mom and step dad side by side and two caskets and two vaults and a headstone. My step dad made monthly payments and the contract was paid in full May 7, 2008. Each item is stated on the contract which included the head stone which cost $900.00

there is a place for installation fees which was left blank by the sells rep. Before my mom passed she and my step dad informed myself and brothers that they had paid for there burial expenses. The total my Step Dad paid for all was $8775.52. When my mom passed away and we went to Trinity to make the burial arrangements only then we were informed that they still owed a additional $593.24 for processing fees, year date scroll and installment fee for the head stone. the contract was signed 01-25-2002. This heading fee was not explained to my mom or step dad upon the agreement they signed on 01-25-2002. Now Trinity wants there money to install the head stone that my mom paid for nor will they give a refund so that we can purchase a another headstone from another company at a cheaper price with installment included.Desired Settlement: My step dad **. [redacted] wants Trinity Memorial to honor the signed contract and place the head stone on [redacted] grave site.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

When I spoke to [redacted] she had told me that there was a new law that came into affect which aloud Trinity Memorial to charge for installing head stones after 2002. I was not told nor was my parents was told that they didn't pay for installation fee of the head stone. My parents assumed that everything was payed for in full as it was a preneed contract. According to Trinity response letter this option was NOT offered until after 2005. My parents payed on there final place to rest and now I have to fight to get this taken care of Because this company rep at the time didn't explain to my parents when you die that you still have to pay us to install your head stone, I am sure if it was added to the contract that my parents made montly payments on that it would have been payed. But I wonder how many other people are un aware that when there love ones die and they have purchased a preneed contract that they still need to pay for there installing there head stone.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

My step dad and my mom was un aware that there was a installment fee that was due. If they had known that Trinity charges a instalment fee it should have been included on the contact were it states "installment fees". that line item was left blank per there sales rep. They also stated that instalation fees were not offered in 2002 as a pre plannining option, not until 2005 did trinity begin offering this option my parents had already signed a legal contract with trinity before 2005.
