the same was done to this chair. I did drop it off, the consumer looked it over and paid. Approximately one month later she called and stated it was crooked. I picked the chair back up and brought it back to my shop. She wanted it to look original which I could not guarantee. It has been almost a year since the customer's work was done and issue was raised, not sure why the customer waited this long to file a complaint. I am requesting any pictures the customer has of the issues and what the other business states was not done or done incorrectly.

Mr. Hodel did offer us a $50 discount but when he gave us our bill he did not include that discount and I forgot about it, so we never got that discount.  But, that is not the problem.  The reason I am complaining now is because we just recently had the chair reupholstered.  I had to have it redone because it looked so bad after Mr. Hodel did it.  Mr. Hodel said he would strip it down to the frame and he did not.  The man who reupholstered it for us is very experienced and honest.  He said whoever did the chair for us did not strip it down to the frame because all of the old insides were still there.  In fact, the first time Mr. Hodel brought the chair back to me he said he left the old cotton in there because it sat better on the springs.  That is what he told me when I said the seat was lumpy.  I do not have any pictures of the chair.  I never mentioned keeping the chair original.  I just wanted a new looking chair with the pattern lined up.  Mr. Hodel did not do the job he told me he would do.  I asked for a partial or full refund and he would not do that so I did not know what else to do but file a complaint with the Revdex.com.  Maybe nothing else can be done.  I got this chair over 40 years ago from my mother so I do think the insides needed to be replaced, which were done by the recent upholsterer.  The money I paid Mr. Hodel was wasted.

Review: Contractor agreed and stated in written contract that any roofing boards after the three that he was including for free - would be $50 a board. Boards that were supposed to be replaced were not, and roof is not completely fixed and repaired as promised. There is huge gap and rotting wood that should have been replaced at time of service. We have attempted to contact contractor more than four separate times via telephone. Left messages and calls are not returned.Desired Settlement: We would like the job completed as stated in the contract "...if any more boards are needed the customer will be charged $50 a board." "All materials are guaranteed and the above work to be completed in a timely workmanlike manner..." When the winter time comes, this unfinished work on the roof will continue to cause the original problem of leakage we had, and attempted to fix by having a new roof put on.

Sincerely,

Review: II hired [redacted] to do some roofing work and exterior painting work on my home in November last year. He started the roofing work but was unable to finish, allegedly due to one of his crew members being arrested and [redacted] not being able to access his materials. After three weeks of this situation and his countless excuses, I ended up engaging another contractor to complete my roof. However, I had paid [redacted] $9,000 at that point (which comprised an upfront payment (both for the roofing job and the painting job) and two daily progress payments for the roofing work -- I only learned in hindsight that the progress they had made was not nearly what [redacted] indicated. At that time (December 2013) I demanded my money back for the unfinished roofing work and for the painting deposit (since the painting had never even started). He refused to refund the money, but agreed to come back in the Spring, when the weather was warmer, and complete the painting job (and also would refund me $500 cash). Since the prior agreement we had for the painting job was $4000, this amounted to a $4500 credit that [redacted] owed me.

We now have a dispute as to when (and if at all) the painting work will be done. It is Spring, and as we agreed, I would like him to come immediately to do the work, or if he is unable or unwilling to do so, to refund me the $4500 I paid. He is not willing to come any time soon to do the work and I cannot wait (just to hear more excuses later), and he is not willing to refund the money.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is a refund of the $4500 I paid for work that was never completed.
