We received 2 estimates from Korey at Triple K Fence Inc. for a front fence & a rear fence, & decided to have the front fence installed first. Korey told us we would get a call a day or 2 before the installation would take place. However, the install crew showed up with no notice at 2:30 on Thursday 7/28/16, & rushed to finish at about 6 pm in the midst of a thunderstorm. We mentioned concrete dust fingerprints all over the black aluminum fence & the crew said they would wash off in the rain [in 2 heavy rains from Thursday night to Monday, they did not]. On Friday, we noticed that they had not put asphalt repair around 1 of the 3 fence posts in the driveway as contracted, & also found some screws in the driveway over the weekend. We checked the gate & found that 1 side had only 2 of the 6 screws installed (1 in each hinge), though the other side did have all 6 screws installed. We called Monday 8/1/16 to mention the 3 issues & the woman apologized, particularly about the lack of screws on the gate, & said the issues would be fixed. A couple hours later, we noticed that someone had come by (without letting us know they were here) & put in the 4 missing screws on the gate, but used tar-based crack filler that looked like frosting on the 9” x 4” area at the 3rd post instead of the asphalt repair patch. There were also still concrete dust fingerprints all over the black fence from the installation. When we called again, the owner Keith called back. He said our trashcans would cover the tar crack filler he had put at the 3rd fence post & he dismissed our comment that we didn’t feel we should have to have our trashcans hide a shoddy repair, especially when the asphalt repair patches at the other 2 posts had been done properly. The owner also said that only 2 screws were needed to connect the 5-foot half gate to the fence, even though the manufacturer has it designed for 6 & the crew did put all 6 screws on the other half of the gate. Keith said he himself would only have put 2 screws on each half of the gate & more were unnecessary, regardless of the manufacturer’s design. He said we were being picky about 1.) the gate being properly & fully secured to the fence, 2.) the difference in the frosting-like crack filler & the proper asphalt repair patches, & 3.) the concrete smudges all over the black aluminum fencing from the installation (“since the fence would get pollen & dirt on it eventually anyway,” he said). When we mentioned that we were not happy, especially since we had planned to go ahead with the rear fence installation, he said not to bother. We asked if that meant he wasn’t interested in our business & he said he didn’t need it. He was argumentative & belittled our concerns during the entire conversation. We then told him we would be sure to let our neighbors, co-workers, & others know of our experience with his company. (The 1 star rating is not for the product, but is solely due to the owner Keith’s attitude & lack of customer service.)

Review: our fence was installed in mid November by Triple K. we called in June because some of the gates were not staying latched and our iron gate was hitting on the frame every time it was opened or closed, causing the finish to chip off. another gate gets caught on the ground and won't open more than a foot or two. a rep came out when no one was home and put spring loaded clips on each of the latched gate doors and the iron gate was suddenly sagging (which it wasn't sagging before, just hitting the frame) so we were not sure what they did to that. I called again in early aug and explained that, while I was thrilled that someone came out and put the hooks on the latches that there were two other issues that had not been addressed. Three weeks later we had not seen or heard from triple k. my husband just called and the person on the other end of the line was rude and argumentative with my husband. my husband asked to speak to a manager and the man said that he was the manager and continued a very negative attitude with my husband. next he asked to speak with an owner and was told that if he spoke to the owner it would only come back to him because he was the manager. don't have this company install a fence for you if you want any kind of follow up customer service or gates that function properly for that matter.Desired Settlement: I would like the iron fence repaired so that the gate is no longer sagging and that the door can open can close without hitting and chipping the finish off. I would like the gate that doesn't open very far to be trimmed at the bottom (in a manner that it will still match up with the other gate door)so that it can open freely (like the rest of the gates) without hitting the ground.

Review: I had a fence installed by Triple K on March 7, 2013, the initial install and finished product looked great and I was happy. About a month after the install, I started having some boards warp on the fence. I called and talked to a lady in the office, she told me no problem that they would have a crew come and fix it, and I said that would be great. About 6 weeks went by and I heard nothing and had seen no one. I called again and left a voicemail on Tuesday, July 16th explained they had not fixed my fence and asked for them to call me back, I never heard anything once again. I noticed while working in the yard that following Saturday that the fence had been "fixed" and I was furious because it looks terrible! The board is cut about 2 inches too short on the bottom and the cut that was made on top to match the rest of fence. It looked like they cut it with a chainsaw while cutting the top of the next fence picket too. Not to mention they failed to fix the other fence picket on the back portion of the fence that is just as badly warped as the one they "replaced". My wife called them that Saturday and talked to a man in the office that assured her we would get a call on Monday (July 22nd) and have a day scheduled to meet with us in person and to fix the problems. That day has yet again come and passed with no phones calls. I feel they just took my money and ran after the job was complete and I also feel that the one year warranty that they offer is a joke. I had Triple K do the work at my house despite being the highest bidder out of 3 quotes because of their reputable name and how long they had been around. To say the least I'm very disappointed in their customer service and communication skills with their customers. Per the "homeowner's check list"7. "All service calls are down within 2 to 3 weeks (not including weekends and holidays) of initial call.Desired Settlement: I would appreciate a call back to discuss a solution to this problem. The customer service problem is just one part of the problem. The boards in my yard should be replaced and furnished as promised in the contract.

Dear [redacted],

This letter is in reference to the letter your office received from [redacted] fence was installed on March 19,2013. Our first call from [redacted] one week later at 3:50pm was only regarding him connecting a board to his neighbor's fence. We told him we don't get involved in neighbor disputes this was between him and his neighbor. [redacted] called one service call in on July 18,2013, that was on our answering machine that morning, requesting a board to be replace on the bottom right hand side of his fence, because it was bowing at the bottom. Our service departments on July 19,2013 went out and replaced the board. Also treated boards move back and fourth due to the weather this is normal. The next call came in on July 27,2013 at 8:35am, which a salesman took a message from [redacted], for the service department to check one board in back, and one board in front, that did not look right? Our salesman only told her the service would be done within 2 -3 weeks or before if in area. Our service department went to the Pitts property on August 1, 2013 and replaced only one board in front, and could not fine the board in back. Per our salesman he never told her someone would call her on Monday or schedule to meet her. If**. [redacted] needs another board replaced then all he has to do is call our office, also ifhe could put a piece of blue tape on the board that would help our service crew, since there is several boards on a fence. Just let the secretary know and she will put in a request for our service department to check.

Thank You,

Management

Review: On June 17, 2013, Triple K installed a private fence on our property. Upon completion of the fence and after the crew had left we noticed a board which was cracked and broken on the bottom needing repaired. We informed Triple K to have the board replaced per the warranty. One of their employees (Korey) we had been dealing with came out to see which board needed fixed and stated it would be taken care of the following day. The board was NOT fixed however, our neighbor who complained about dirt built up in their yard had it cleaned immediately. After making several follow up calls and messages a man named [redacted] returned my call on July 2, 2013. [redacted] proceeded to berate me over the phone, yelling, and stating I was harassing him. This was the first time we had spoken to [redacted]. He stated he had already fixed the board and continued to yell insults and interrupting, he even sounded intoxicated by slurring when speaking. When asked if this was how customers were treated [redacted] responded with yes. [redacted] also informed me I was ruining his vacation and asked multiple times if the board getting fixed was a matter of life or death. [redacted] was confrontational and seemed to have no respect for listening to our concerns or being courteous for a customer who recently paid $2760 for a private fence. I felt as if the neighbors concerns about dirt were addressed immediately when paying customers concerns were disregarded and ignored. I have never been treated this poorly during any customer service experience in my life.Desired Settlement: Have the broken board fixed immediately and an complete inspection of the entire fence for any other discrepancies. I also request [redacted] apologize for the horrible customer service and "child like" tantrum when he called.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

This letter is in reference to the letter your office received by [redacted]. First the contract is in [redacted] name and signed by her. [redacted] is not on our contract, and our salesmen [redacted] never met him. The board in question by [redacted] was taken care of the next day after installation. Yes, [redacted] called our office and left several messages for [redacted], which is a salesman, but did not leave any messages about a service. After a message was left on our answer machine saying [redacted] did not take care of his service on a board. We pulled the contract and our office called [redacted] and told him our crew took care of that board the following day after the installation. [redacted] disagree and got upset, but we will not go there. We told him we would look again at his fence, maybe there is another board. The enxt day one of the staff went out to [redacted] house and found his grass was just cut and there was a board with a chunk broken off on the bottom, which it looks like something hit the bottom board. In any case we replace two boards for [redacted]. We have both boards that were taken off of [redacted] fence, at our office and have enclosed pictures of them for your records, we hope [redacted] is happy.

Thank you,

Triple K Fence Inc.
