always gone the extra mile to satisfy our customers and maintain good standing with the building inspection departments in all counties where we work.Triplett’s Plumbing was referred to [redacted] Auto Sales through a General Contractor for which we work on a regular basis.  The contractor agreed to erect a building for Mr. [redacted], the owner of [redacted] Auto Sales; however, Mr. [redacted] was to select and hire his own sub-contractors and laborers.  Upon my first meeting with Mr. [redacted], I found him to be arrogant and abrasive and immediately knew that we would not work well together.  I informed my builder of my concern and of my decision not to accept the job.  My builder however, assured me that I could work directly through his company, as always.  I would not have to communicate with or work with Mr. [redacted] and all invoicing would be through the general contractor.  I reluctantly agreed.Triplett’s Plumbing installed the under slab plumbing, had the work inspected and it passed.  Then the general contractor erected the building and completed their scope of work.  That was when Mr. [redacted] began calling me directly to communicate and schedule the above-ground work.  Because of his inexperience in construction, Mr. [redacted] had no idea how or when to schedule work or how to call for inspections at appropriate times.  It was a continual mess.  However, I tried to help him and communicate with him.  Each time he became more arrogant, abrasive and dismissive.  I would have walked away numerous times, but didn't want to abandon my job.  All of our work was inspected by the Catawba County Inspection Department and it passed inspection each time.  The only time our work did not pass inspection was when Mr. [redacted], himself, called for inspections when work was not complete.  He did this numerous times even after I told him we were not ready.  This type of dismissiveness continued throughout the course of the job.Finally, when all work was complete, we had a final inspection and everything was passed and approved.  I sent my invoices to the general contractor. The contractor sent final invoices to Mr. [redacted].   At this point I had not been paid for any work.  A few days later Mr. [redacted] called me and said he had my check ready and that I could come to his office to receive payment.  I was confused because my understanding was that the GC would pay me, but on inquiry, the GC told me to go ahead and pick up the check from Mr. [redacted]. When I arrived at Mr. [redacted]’s office, he half-heartedly looked for invoices, then said he couldn’t find them and that I would need to produce new invoices.  I had driven twenty miles one way to collect the check that he said was ready.  I again asked him, politely, if he was sure he didn’t have a copy of the invoices.  That is when he began to curse me, yelling at me and telling me to get off his property and not to come back without an invoice.  I was in shock that he would talk to me in this manner.  I responded to him in a calm voice that I had been a professional and had done him a good job and that I didn't appreciate being talked to that way.  He again said I was a liar and to get off his property and not to come back without the invoices.  I went to my truck, struggled to retain my composure, called the general contractor’s office and asked that they resend the invoices to Mr. [redacted] ASAP.  Soon, Mr. [redacted] came out of his office with copies of invoices and a check for the appropriate amount.  He handed me the check and ordered me off his [redacted] ** ** ** property!  I was reeling and stunned by such an unprovoked verbal assault.  I accepted the check and left.I do not tolerate disrespect.  I do not allow people to treat me poorly or to curse me.  The only reason I was able to hold my composure is because I knew that if I lost my temper that I would not get paid for the work I had done.   I then left and took the check to the bank the next day.  Later, Mr. [redacted] called me and left a message on my voice mail that the electricity had been turned on and that I could come and turn on the water to make a final test of my fixtures.  I did not return his call.  I decided that until his check cleared the bank that I would have no contact with him.  The positive outcome on that job was that the check cleared and we have been paid in full. It is not in my best interest or my company’s best interest to have any contact with [redacted].  I will not reimburse him any money nor will I go back to his property.  I do not tolerate this type of behavior from anyone.  Not only did I have to endure such an arrogant, demeaning attitude and verbal abuse littered with expletives, he has the audacity to make a complaint against me to the Revdex.com!Triplett’s Plumbing does hundreds of jobs per year and we do not leave jobs unfinished nor customers dissatisfied.  We are well-respected in the building industry and have built our business, not through advertising, but through references from satisfied customers and clients.  We value our reputation as a matter of principle and as a matter of business.  Please remove this blemish from my otherwise spotless record.
