In January of this year a representative from Tripod Aluminum came to my home and gave me an estimate for the installation of a new screeen enclosure for my back porch The estimate was $(I have a copy of their estimate complete with cost breakdown and diagram) I decided to hold off on the project due to other house projects I contacted Home Depot in August about using my credit card to finance the screen enclosure project and they referred it to their contractor - you guessed it, Tripod Aluminum The rep came out and while measuring he mentioned things like permit fees and the need for a structural engineer..for a simple screen enclosure ! Bottom line, his quote was $more than the January quote So, in the course of months, their costs went up by $and apparently I now required the services of a structural engineer to put up aluminum and screening Ridiculous

Excellent engineering of patio screen enclosure. Fit and finish are very good. Aesthetically, the enclosure looks awesome. Subs and employees were friendly and well mannered.

Delays, serious errors, do-overs, and all the while no communication from the company including the salesperson and the "boss" until and unless we initiated it, including having to go to their office to get answers! Told at the outset that Tripod treats customers like they are family. What we experienced was them being non-responsive; so it must be a dis-functional family. A screen porch project that was contracted to take "weeks" turned into months. The boss said he was not ready to discuss any type of discount, so we took it upon ourselves to reduce the final payment by what we felt was reasonable. That brought a letter from Tripod's lawyer.

On May 26, 2016 I gave the sales representative, Darren, a check for $4800 to do a screen enclosure on my patio pool area. That was a 50% deposit on the total job. I was told I needed a survey, and building permit. I have spent the money on the survey and I was told they have the building permit. That was in July. I have called several times and been told they still need to do a final measurement and then a fabrication. I get the same response every time I call. I have even emailed the sales person with no response. I feel that I need to go to the office personally and either get my money back or get a final completion date for this job. They are the worst company I have ever hired to do work on my home, and I've done total remodel!
