Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Wow! I'm not quite sure what customer Tripoli is talking about Not once was I offered a rental car while they fixed the vehicleThey did not fix one thing on the vehicle, they changed the oil once while we waited as stated in my first statementThe vehicle did not stay with them at any given time with out us there Therefore, I'm not quite sure what they could of fixed to tell me about itNOTHING! Also, Tripoli stating in their reply that the lady must of hit somethingWhat? That is a straight out lie and has nothing to do with the problem the vehicle was havingHitting something does not make the oil and anti-freeze mix and crack the head gasketHmmmAnd again, after being there ours waiting for the owner to show up(which he never did) the sales guy and the mechanic agreed that the head gasket was crackedWhich does NOT happen days after a vehicle is bought Long test drive?? Did not even take it a mileEven if it was driven longer, the problem would not of been noticed, because they covered up the problem by changing the oil and anti-freeze just before the vehicle was drivenTherefore, it wasn't smelling or mixing for several days of already being driven In their first reply, they stated that I left my license and called them to see if it was there and that's when I brought up the issues with the vehicleNot close, I called Wednesday, they had me come in FridayI noticed my license missing the Sunday after and called themThey knew they had it Friday, why wasn't I given it then, I had to ask for the title they already had as wellNot that I am needing Tripoli to do anything for me any longer as I had to sell the vehicle to a salvage company, so I could get a safe reliable vehicle for me and my childI am wanting them t own up that they way they handled the situation was not honest, unethical and very unprofessionalWhat customer service!! In the words of the owner "I take care of you, I come to you I mechanic" What happened to that? As far as your comment of making your customers content, that's where you're going wrong By content you're meaning to sell a vehicle that you can cover up and try to sweet talk your customers until they go away Your goal should be HAPPY customers, which you aren't even close in doingHappy not ContentAll Consumers Beware!!! Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: This is the lady that bought the Pontiac GrandAm The response from Tripoli is nothing how the situation took place Went in on a Saturday night and purchased the car When we got it home antifreeze was all over our driveway We looked at the car the next morning because it was late when we got home Looked as if they way over filled the antifreezeWe took some of the antifreeze out to the correct fill line and decided to watch it for a few days Took it to emissions on Monday in which it did pass Noticed with in the next two days a very strong smell, I thought was a gas smell and noticed that the oil did not look like pure oil nor smell like pure oil I called Tripoli on Wednesday, three working days after the car was purchasedLet them know what was going on, they told me to bring the vehicle in Friday at 12:and they would have their mechanic look at it Got there about 11:and had to wait until 1:until some one got there to look at it for us They insisted that nothing was wrong with the vehicle and said they would do am oil change The oil change was done, the owner showed up and I did thank them, and the owner said "any problems we take care of you, I come to you I mechanic"and we left I kept checking the oil everyday, and everyday the color was different and smelledCalled them again, and they said to bring it down again at noon to meet with the owner, took it downWhen we got there the sales guy was sleeping on the couch and again we waited for the mechanic to show upWe knew at this time that the oil was mixing with the antifreeze and had a small head gasket leak In which after being there hours the sales man and mechanic agreed with the person that went with meDuring the hour wait for the owner, they tried to show me a synthetic oil that they put in the vehicle, I knew that was not the oil they put in it, because I was checking it everydayI would try to ask several of the guys in the shop certain questions and they would straight out not answer or like they did not understand a word I was saying Toward the end of our 3hour wait, they wanted to replace the tank for the antifreeze, knowing that was not the problem, just to get us out of there I even asked them yes to take the car back and refund, I aslo told them that they could charge me $a day that I had the car like a rental and give me the rest back I called for several days with no answer and no response to my messages One of the sales guys did call me back and even told me he heard the owner tell me that they would take care of me and come to me if needed I'm sorry to say that they knew what type of vehicle they sold They covered it up before they sold by changing the antifreeze and oil, so it wasn't mixed Bottom line for me is that by word of mouth, they said they would take care of me and they didn't$just pretty much thrown away The car was to get me and my child around, real safe I definitely will never recommend anyone to Tripoli Sales, at first I did when they were so willing by words to take care of me, but I guess words don't mean anything anymore Its a pretty sad world when you can't trust in what people tell you Sincerely, [redacted] ( [redacted] lady that bought the vehicle)

Dear Sir or Ma'am, Greetings I think there is misunderstood from the consumer of what we have told about the vehicle situation, we never said to consumer not to come back if there is any issue with the vehicle , as we previously explained to you in our email we have been sent it on 8/18/2017, and in any way we did not gave the consumer a limited time for test drive as she mentioned, also we wouldn't mind if the consumer test drive many cars as they wantOtherwise all the consumer has a right to take test drive and check the vehicle with any mechanic before buy it from our dealership and after that if consumer find any issue with the vehicle we will fix it before buy it from us,any dealership depending on their reputation and we are have a good reputation and high score review by treating our consumers well and friendly and very cooperative with them and we will not risk our reputation and put our consumers on risk if we knew any safety issue with any vehicle We already provided Dealer Board all officially documents which approve we are really not involved with any fraud or mechanically issues and as we declared this issue before, we sold this vehicle (AS IS) without any WARRANTY (see attached) and for consumers convince we give them three days only for emission test and give them a coupon value $ for inspected the vehicle free (see attached)As much as we can tried to help and cooperated with the consumerPlease contact us if you any questions or concerns

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
The dealership is blatantly lying by stating that they never told me that I had to take the car elsewhere after I brought it to them the first timeAs I stated before, 1) yes, in fact, they did tell me that they could not fix the vehicle they sold me because it was "too expensive", which clearly shows that they knew there was a more serious issue than what they did; 2) they told me that the wires were fine even though the actually reputable ** dealer I took my car to found that problem immediately, so Tripoli lied about that (or they are incompetent); and 3) they still have not explained or apologized why they drove my car miles and put an own box of rice in my backseat while it was in their possessionI am entirely unconvinced Tripoli did not know about the car's mechanical issues and I resent them lying about it rather than taking responsibility and compensating me for the repairs.
Sincerely,

Hello Sir/Ma'am, *** *** *** ***

*** *** *** *** Our policy, is before we sell any car to the consumer, we make sure that external and internal detail including the engine are in good conditionsAlso, we
make sure that the car has no mechanical or electrical issues before it is sold to the consumer .The consumer has the right to schedule a drive test and check it by themselves or at the mechanic shop if there is any issue in the vehicleOn 07-08-the car was sold to *** *** *** by the owner of Tripoli Auto salesThe consumer checked and tested another car (***) for one hour, then she checked this one (*** ***) and tested it for one hour too and was happy with itIn addition to that, we recommended other cars but she wanted this oneOn top of that, the consumer was informed that this car is going to be sold “AS IS” without warranty because it was a used car, as we sell most other carsThe consumer was convinced with it and bought itThe car was sold as indicated in the official documentsAfter three days, the consumer called us that there were issues in the car such as the ABS light and Brakes lightWe asked her to bring the car to the dealer so we can check it, and she came and left her car for checkingWhen the car was displayed on the technician, he found the ABS light and Brakes light were on but there is no check engine light on and said that the car has to reset by itself, and he stated that the lights would be off properly after 2-daysThe customer was notified about that and she took the car after the checkout, but if the lights weren't turned off after starting to drive 2-days, she had to come back to the dealer so we can take necessary actionsHowever, the consumer didn’t return, until we were surprised about the report from Revdex.com she gave on Tripoli Auto salePlease contact us If you have any questions or concerns

As a company that has been in business for more than three yearsWe have always aimed at making sure our customers are contentWe always explain our guarantees and emission is one of themWe do guarantee all other stuff for three days or not allThe customer brought the car back and we fixed the issues even after the car met out emission guaranteeThe way a person drives the car can affect a lot of things on a carNow we fixed the issues she address to us and even went beyond to give her a car to use during the time period we held her car to allow better repairsWe showed her what we had done prior to taking the carWe suspect that she hit the car in a deep or some thing because she did not mention anything until after a weekBut as for us we did our best to help her because there were no problems addressed to us prior to a long test drive she did before purchasing the carHope we can close this case because we did everything within our company policy and the motor vehicle governing rules

We can not do an*thing for Mr*** *** He bought the car over a *ear ago and put a lot of mileage on the carIf the car has a head gasket problem he would not put that much mileage on it

HiIn response to this complaint there is nothing clearly there to complain about. The deal was done by salesman *** not ***We did a oil change prior to sell but if the customer still wants another oil change we can take care of thatThe reason they did not receive the title at the time of
purchase is because we had not received the title from the auction at that time, but as soon as we received the title from auction we mailed it to the customer at the address they had provided usWhen the customer called to tell us they had not received the title yet, we told them we had mailed it and we gave them the trucking numberWe have texts and all the paper work to prove all the follow throughThey then called us to confirm that they had received the title, but after a few days they also called us to report that they had lost the titleOne of our sales man (***) talked to them and made and appointment to show up and receive a letter from us to take to the DMV explaining why they needed oneThat letter was written and signed by the sales manager *** who signs off most of the documentsIt is true we did not know that dealers were allowed to issue extension of tags as of mid last year until the customer told us the DMV had said dealers can now doBut the fact that we provided the title to the customers and they lost it we had to make sure we spoke to DMV to make sure we are not breaking the lawAnd as soon as we spoke to the DMV we contacted the customers to come in so that we can issue them extension of tagsPrior to making the letter to the customers we had told them that we will be talking to the auction to see if they can help get us a duplicate titleConsidering the fact that they received title from us and they lost it we still took an extra step to see that we help our customers to help get them a duplicate title as we have been helping most of our customers for a long timeWhen I asked the customer to come and get tags they asked whether I could mail them but I clearly told them we could not do so and that she had to be at our dealershipI see no wrong in what we did as we always aim to do better with our customersWe are just abiding by the law

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: This is the lady that bought the 99 Pontiac GrandAm.  The response from Tripoli is nothing how the situation took place.  Went in on a Saturday night and purchased the car.  When we got it home antifreeze was all over our driveway.  We looked at the car the next morning because it was late when we got home.  Looked as if they way over filled the antifreeze. We took some of the antifreeze out to the correct fill line and decided to watch it for a few days.  Took it to emissions on Monday in which it did pass.  Noticed with in the next two days a very strong smell, I thought was a gas smell and noticed that the oil did not look like pure oil nor smell like pure oil.  I called Tripoli on Wednesday, three working days after the car was purchased. Let them know what was going on, they told me to bring the vehicle in Friday at 12:00 and they would have their mechanic look at it.  Got there about 11:30 and had to wait until 1:15 until some one got there to look at it for us.  They insisted that nothing was wrong with the vehicle and said they would do am oil change.  The oil change was done, the owner showed up and I did thank them, and the owner said "any problems we take care of you, I come to you I mechanic". and we left.  I kept checking the oil everyday, and everyday the color was different and smelled. Called them again, and they said to bring it down again at noon to meet with the owner,  took it down. When we got there the sales guy was sleeping on the couch and again we waited for the mechanic to show up. We knew at this time that the oil was mixing with the antifreeze and had a small head gasket leak.  In which after being there 3 hours the sales man and mechanic agreed with the person that went with me. During the 3 hour wait for the owner, they tried to show me a synthetic oil that they put in the vehicle, I knew that was not the oil they put in it, because I was checking it everyday. I would try to ask several of the guys in the shop certain questions and they would straight out not answer or like they did not understand a word I was saying.  Toward the end of our 3hour wait, they wanted to replace the tank for the antifreeze, knowing that was not the problem, just to get us out of there.  I even asked them yes to take the car back and refund, I aslo told them that they could charge me $25 a day that I had the car like a rental and give me the rest back.  I called for several days with no answer and no response to my messages.  One of the sales guys did call me back and even told me he heard the owner tell me that they would take care of me and come to me if needed.  I'm sorry to say that they knew what type of vehicle they sold.  They covered it up before they sold by changing the antifreeze and oil, so it wasn't mixed.  Bottom line for me is that by word of mouth, they said they would take care of me and they didn't. $1500.00 just pretty much thrown away.  The car was to get me and my child around, real safe.  I definitely will never recommend anyone to Tripoli Sales, at first I did when they were so willing by words to take care of me, but I guess words don't mean anything anymore.  Its a pretty sad world when you can't trust in what people tell you.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2015/08/28) */
the owner came back to us after 3 weeks from buying the car and we told him to come back the following Monday so we can fix the car. The customer never came back and we are willing to work with him if he desired.

I am rejecting this response because: 1. Its not that I want an oil Chang from them, its that they did not put an oil filter in the car. Not putting an oil filter in a car can hurt the car. 2. Before we made our second trip to the dealer we ask them about the tags and they said they would do it. I specifically remember [redacted] asking them about the tags. 3. I understand that they have to go through the auction for a duplicate title. But im irritated at the fact that we were told we would have to come in to sign a paper and then didnt even sign anything when we got there. Im irritated at the fact I have to come all the way back up there to get the tags and to "sign" something again. we are gratethat they are help in us with the process of getting a duplicate title. But we are upset over the tags and the missing oil filter in the car.
Sincerely,

Dear Sir or Ma'am,   Greetings...   I think there is misunderstood from the consumer of what we have told about the vehicle situation, we never said to consumer not to come back if there is any issue with the vehicle , as we previously explained to you in our email we have been sent it on 8/18/2017, and in any way we did not gave the consumer a limited time for test drive as she mentioned, also we wouldn't mind if the consumer test drive many cars as they want. We sold a 2009 [redacted] for this customer, without any warranty ((AS IS)), and she accepted it.It is normal for us to give any customers any time they wants to test drive for the car they choose, and let them know if it has any problems or if the car is in a good conduction. At the same time, we...

allow them to take the car to any mechanical shop to check it.This customer brought this car after a couple of days of purchase, with the issue of a leak, when we checked it, we found that it had a leak in the head gasket valve and from the Air pump gasket. We replaced the gasket for Air pump only, but we have to order  the other one, and it will take some time. We told her about it, and we charged her for the Air pump gasket only which cost her $75.For the water pump gasket, we didn't replace it as the customer thought. I think she had misunderstood. In the end, we need to make our customer happy. So, we don't mind to refund the amount we charged her, which was $75

I am rejecting this response because: Wow! I'm not quite sure what customer Tripoli is talking about.  Not once was I offered a rental car while they fixed the vehicle. They did not fix  one thing on the vehicle, they changed the oil once while we waited as stated in my first statement. The vehicle did not stay with them at any given time with out us there.  Therefore, I'm not quite sure what they could of fixed to tell me about it. NOTHING! Also, Tripoli stating in their reply that the lady must of hit something. What? That is a straight out lie and has nothing to do with the problem the vehicle was having. Hitting something does not make the oil and anti-freeze mix and crack the head gasket. Hmmm. And again, after being there 3 ours waiting for the owner to show up(which he never did) the sales guy and the mechanic agreed that the head gasket was cracked. Which does NOT happen 3 days after a vehicle is bought.  Long test drive?? Did not even take it a mile. Even if it was driven longer, the problem would not of been noticed, because they covered up the problem by changing the oil and anti-freeze just before the vehicle was driven. Therefore, it wasn't smelling or mixing for several days of already being driven.  In their first reply, they stated that I left my license and called them to see if it was there and that's when I brought up the issues with the vehicle. Not close, I called  Wednesday, they had me come in Friday. I noticed my license missing the Sunday after and called them. They knew they had it Friday, why wasn't I given it then, I had to ask for the title they already had as well. Not that I am needing Tripoli to do anything for me any longer as I had to sell the vehicle to a salvage company, so I could get a safe reliable vehicle for me  and my child. I am wanting them t own up that they way they handled the situation was not honest, unethical and very unprofessional. What customer service!! In the words of the owner "I take care of you, I come to you I mechanic"  What happened to that?  As far as your comment of making your customers content, that's where you're going wrong.  By content you're meaning to sell a vehicle that you can cover up and try to sweet talk your customers until they go away.  Your goal should be HAPPY customers, which you aren't even close in doing. Happy not Content.
