I agree with complaints regarding billing. After an ER visit for a family member I asked to come in and speak to someone regarding the bill and was denied being told the pricing was fair and reasonable. $500.00 for a chest x-ray, $1358 for a cbc/metabolic and troponin blood tests, $450.00 ECG does not strike me as fair and reasonable. Was offered a 20% discount off the bat but was not told the offer was only good for 5 business days, I was still disputing the bill at the time. I wrote the president of the hospital, the billing department and the patient care advocate who all refused to meet with me. The patient care stops once the ink is dry on the bill. I will not be using this hospital or their affiliates again, even if it means paying out of pocket for care.
Beware of this Medical Center,I used them for heart rehab and was told how much my copay would be which I payed to them. Then about 2 Months later I received
Bill for over 400.00 More. I called my ins. co and they said that summit was informed
of the amount they would pay. it stands to reason that they work with insurance
company's every day. Looks like a way to get extra money from there customers.
Not a good company to deal with. Nothing wrong with there rehab program, only there business practice.
