Triton Arms

This company was tasked with repairing a firearm that failed to function properly. The problem was the bolt assembly failed to lock in the open position after the last round was discharged. Triton replaced a part that they believed caused the problem and asserted they tested the gun with good result. When it was returned to me the exhibited the same problem. I demanded the return of my money but refused to do so claiming the gun worked properly. Additionally they claimed I should be using.223 ammunition when the gun requires 5.56 x45. When I provided evidence to that effect they then asserted I should have used SAMMI spec ammo that is only available in 223 caliber. These people have refused to acknowledge their error and chose instead to make excuses for their inability to do a simple repair. Verne Simon

Triton Arms is a real pleasure to deal with. Owners are very personable and take great pride in their product as well as customer satisfaction. I will definitely be doing further business with Triton Arms.

Had a Savage 30-06 refinished in cera-kote... excellent work, and an artistically done job at designing the pattern of camouflage. They even replaced my broken trigger guard with a steel one, and didn't ask for any additional money for the job.

Review: I bought a Bushmaster XM-15 rifle from the [redacted] on 4/3/2015 I took the rifle to the range on the 26th of April the first day the weather permitted. The gun malfunctioned with in the first 90 rounds being fired through it deforming a aluminum foregrip. at the point where the gas port leave the barrel to flow down the gas tube. They claim my fifle was shot by a gun causing the damage. the rifle stated above was the only firearm at the range on that morning except for a 380 pistol I carry in my pocket for self defense and this pistol never left my pocket. they have also claimed that the rifle was ready for shipping back to me on 5/15/15 and the rifle is still not shipped. Triton arms claim this is because [redacted] has not showed up to pick up the package. I contacted the [redacted] national call center on 5/19/15 and spoke with a manager named [redacted] she informed me that Triton arms has not contacted [redacted] to pick up the package. In 4 days triton arms would have had my firearm longer than I have owned it and Bushmaster refuses to give me a refund on what was a defective rifle and triton arms has lied through out the repair process. This company can not be trusted with what they say to there customers and will do anything to not honor Bushmasters warranty.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for the cost of the rifle and the $65.00 they charged me to repair this rifle and I would like a written apology to me and have it posted on there website that they may mislead you on your repairs

We would first off state in a reply to this complaint that we ARE NOT Bushmaster and CANNOT Authorize a refund. We are ONLY a contracted firearms repair shop to provide service for Bushmaster firearms, and in warranty cases we provide service to Bushmaster customers at Bushmaster's expense. In all correspondence between Bushmaster and their Customers, it clearly statesthat if the damage is determined to not be related to a manufacturing defect, then it is to be quoted and billed to the customer, which thisrepair was, and either they agree to pay for work, or pay to have it shipped back. This customer agreed to pay for the repairs determined necessary for his firearm.Bushmaster does make determinations on whether or not to cover damages under warranty based on information received from Triton Arms. In thiscase relevant photographs and video were taken of the firearm in question and made available to Bushmaster, videos showing the firearm functioning correctly despite the alleged complaint. The

firearm, it was determined by Triton Arms, Bushmaster and multiple independent consultants, was damaged externally by gunfire. Prior to thisreport it was only know to Triton Arms and Bushmaster that the damage appeared have been created by a 9mm projectile based on the track of a

copper laced bullet strike on the outside of the forearm rail. In this complaint the author discloses he was in possession of a .380 pistol which fires a .357 diameter projectile, the very same as a 9mm. Triton Arm's lead Gunsmith who compiled the information has 20 years ofGunsmithing experience, with the last of 8 years of his career spent focused primarily on AR-15 platform weapons and has worked for Bushmaster

in designing and implementing their Law Enforcement Training Program. Additionally, he has worked for and with other companies making anddesigning AR-15 platform weapons, and is regarded in the Defense Industry as a subject matter expert, so much so his findings have proved positive in

court rulings regarding lawsuits against Bushmaster. Anyone with specific questions regarding this complaint can call or email Triton Arms or Bushmaster. If no legal filings proceed from here forward, video of the rifle working before and after the forearm repair areavailable as well as pictures of the damage to the customer installed forearm and fore end plate and can be made available per request.
