Initially we were pleased with our buying experience, and highly considered Troiano for our next new car purchase. we have recently been made aware of some new information that greatly upsets us and raises a bigger issue of questionable ethics and integrity on the part of the sales team. 1) The finance manager completely misleads us regarding the Zurich Extended Warranty Plan and GAP coverage. He made it appear to us that purchasing the coverage was a requirement from the lender in order to obtain financing. Just this week we discovered it was NOT in fact a lender requirement and we have requested a refund of the policy from Zurich which your office should be receiving notice of shortly.2) Being an active duty military member, we are entitled to a waiver of registration fees which we were not made aware of or offered. Furthermore, active duty members stationed in CT with residency in another state are also eligible to a reduced sales tax rate of 4.5% in lieu of the 6.35% tax currently in effect on motor vehicles pursuant to Section 12-408 (1) (B) of the Connecticut General Statutes. Neither of these benefits was made available to us and we now have to spend countless hours pursuing a refund for overpayment on our own from the DMV and the Department of Revenue Service.These issues raise grave concerns over the ethical practices of your sales and finance managers, particularly when it comes to misleading and taking advantage of active duty military members in the service who reside in your community and the financial success of your business.Desired Settlement: REfund of the remainder of the coverage not being returned. The company is only refunding the pro-rated amount of the policy. Refund of the tax and registration expenses if we are not able to receive a refund directly.
