For more than a month my dumpy-old-3-cylinder-gas-miser-contribution-to-the-environment convertible sat outside in Trojan's compound, having been towed to them, and lost, by my private auto insurance company, Family Insurance, for a claim.
Through an entire wet west-coast February the convertible sat exposed, with the topper cut and improperly closed. No effort was made by Trojan to protect the car from further damage, because they didn't know why the car was there.
"We couldn't find any way of contacting anyone why the car was here" [redacted], as I'm pointing at two sets of my registration and insurance documents in plain view on the passenger side floor. I admit the set in their black Tote's Auto Club document organizer didn't stand out from a distance, but it was impossible not to read 'Nanaimo Insurance' on the set in their cherry red plastic cover, without my glasses. The truth is, no one from Trojan ever looked. No one from Trojan investigated the less-than-numerous towing companies in Nanaimo as to why the car arrived either.
Here's the real Trojan customer service I experienced! Even after I showed both sets of documents to the estimator he took no responsibility for my car's recent deterioration, showed no concern, nor even the slightest bit of integrity. Yet, he quickly purported several defects that had made my car worthless long before the new mould and wild west-coast growth appeared under Trojan's watch. (He gets one point from me for being a loyal employee)
It's simple why their office is nicer than my doctor's and my dentist's. Since Trojan wasn't able to overcharge an insurance company they wouldn't help. They're just pigs at the insurance company trough, plain and simple, which makes them a fundamental reason why auto insurance rates are too high. [redacted]
