I am sorry that Mr*** is not satisfied with my previous statement. No one from our company is hiding out, we are very busy, for which I am thankfulIn the initial complaint, Mr*** did not mention that he was looking for a monetary resolution so I am not sure how that issue can be raised nowHe has been given an invoice, a spreadsheet and verbal and written explanations for the charges. As, I stated before, the work we did, replacing the leaking pipe, was completed on July 11,2017. I view this as a completed job. We have pictures, from our visit on October 11,showing that there are more cast iron sewer lines that could and probably should be replaced. Further work would be at additional cost. This now broken fitting, above what we installed, could most definitely have rotted through between July and now. If anyone would like, I can upload these pictures. I do not feel that a face to face meeting at the property will gain anyone additional understanding and peace. Please let me know if you need any further information. Thank you

We were first contacted in January about a leak in the basement of the rental property owned by the homeownerWe repaired a water heater on January 21, and noted at that time that there was a leak in the cast iron sewer pipingOn January 25, 2016, we gave him an initial price to
repair the leaking cast iron piping, through the property managersThe next contact was October 3, when the property manager asked if we had heard anything about the propertyThe reply was that we would need $down payment before commencing any workOctober 26, we received the $down paymentThe next contact was December for a water heater problem at the same propertyWe repaired the water heater but my employees refused to enter the basement again until the sewage and worms and bugs were removed from the basementThe access door to the basement was also covered in multiple bags of trash, which had many flies in and on themWe informed the property managers that we would not go in the space againWe recommended a cleaning company to remove the human waste so that it would be safe for workers to be in this space From December until June when we spoke with the representative from the cleaning company to schedule the repair, we urged the property managers to encourage the homeowner to move toward cleaning up the mess as it was a health hazardAt this time the apartment was occupied On July 10, the cleaning company completed the removal of the sludgeWe came on July 11, and used a generator to provide lighting as the tenants had their electricity turned off at that timeWe removed the leaking cast iron piping and replaced it with Schedule PVCWe connected to two places where the cast iron was still solidWe ran water in the apartment to verify that there were no leaks when we had completed the piping replacement and before we left the propertyWe invoiced the work on July 12, and received payment on July 31, Our next contact was on September 26, or 29, 2017, I an unable to document the exact dayThe homeowner said there was a substantial leak in the cast iron piping at the propertyOur first opportunity to go to the property to view the leak was on October 11, It should be noted that the apartment was vacant on the day of the initial contact in September and also on October 11, At that time, we discovered problem a leak in a cast iron fitting above what we had replacedThe piece of pipe that had fallen from the pipe was on the floor beneath the pipeWe took several pictures of the basement and noted that the basement is naturally damp with water dripping from several water pipes throughout the basementThe leak that was present on this day was not present on July 11, On October 23, 2017, I emailed the homeowner and property manager to inform them that if they wanted to schedule future work to repair the new piping issue, our schedule was full until the end of November for business hours The work from July was complete and the current issue is a new problemThe ideal scenario for any older property is to have all of the cast iron sewer piping replaced with Schedule PVCMost homeowners elect to replace only the section causing the immediate problemThat is what we did on July 11,

Better businesses respond quickly to customers concerns. Better Bussinesses come meet clients immediately and remain communicative to customers issues. Disappearing for weeks is not acceptable. Clearly the problem is real. We sent pictures clearly showing the outstanding and concerning problem. This should have been alarming to the business. Instead, they hid out.  A better business comes to the customer right away and says: We need to fix this right away, you spent thousands cleaning the affected area. If I were in your (the customer) shoes, I too would be bummed that water is spilling all over the floor.    This business refused to come to the property for a meeting and to view the problem first-hand or even return repeated phone calls. They refuse to even consider that their work was incomplete or maybe ever sub-par. They want to blame the customer, call the problem new, and maybe schedule some additional work for over 30 days out. Is the gaping 2" hole in the rotting cast-iron pipe new between July 11, 2017 and September 2017? We don't think so, but it does not matter. You come out, meet, look at the problem, and take immediate action at no cost to the customer where warranted. It can't be proven either way, frankly, so the customer is right and you take action and remain responsive.  Beyond this, we dispute the amount of labor needed for the job & also the materials required. Still happy to meet the business on site for a review so they can do what we feel better businesses do.   Thank you.    [redacted]
