Overcharged my credit card and did not credit account as told. Next months statement showed more over charges.Salon charges one monthly fee of $19.95 to credit card. In month of February/march 2014 my credit card was charged 8 times for $19.95 and $21.95 sometimes multiple times on one day. (2/13,2/23,2/27,2/28,3/4 two times,3/6,3/9). I went in to salon and spoke with Stephanie who told me that there had been multiple problems with the processing company . I left a copy of my charge statement showing the I was overcharged about $150. I was told that my credit card would be credited in about a week. This months statement came and not only was I not credited but I was charged 3 times (3/15 two times and 3/28). Total $231.45 charged. I went in again and was told to contact my credit card company and have them go after the processing co. I was told Stephanie no longer worked there and that she told me the wrong information. This woman told me the owner, [redacted], had wrote some checks but not to everyone and that there was a pile of people waiting for reimbursement. I told her to take me out of system. She kept trying to persuade me to not do that and actually said if I did that they would still be charging me for the month.. I explained that they already charged me enough for the year. I called my credit card company and they are attempting to get reimbursement. Seems like they are taking extra unauthorized credit card payments and scamming. I only hope she took my account down.Desired Settlement$200Business Response we did have a problem with the processor and credited consumers over $2500. W estopped credited customers because the processor began crediting overcharged customers resulting in double credits

Tropic Sun Tanning Salon made an unauthorized withdrawal of $28.95 on three occasionsfrom my debit account during the month of March 2014.I have a monthly plan with Tropic Sun Tanning Salon in Holden, MA where I am charged $28.95 one time per month for unlimited tanning services. Upon reviewing my statement for the month of March 2014, I discovered that I was charged $28.95 on four separate occasions rather than once. The dates for these charges of $28.95 are : March 1, 2014 March 5, 2014 March 16, 2014 and March 29, 2014. When I called Tropic Sun Tanning Salon, they claimed that their "processing company" had applied unauthorized charges to many of their customers' accounts in January-March 2014. They told me to call my bank to file a dispute and that my bank would refund me. Upon calling my bank, Middlesex Savings Bank, they informed me that the bank itself could do nothing since I had paid using my debit card. I then called Tropic Sun Tanning Salon back and the sales rep that I spoke with claimed that she could not refund me because the "processing company" was at fault, however she refused to give me the contact info for that "processing company". When I asked to speak with a [redacted] or [redacted], she informed me that they have no [redacted] and that the [redacted] was never in and refused to give me his name or contact info. Eventually, the girl did give me his name and contact info ([redacted] (XXX) XXX-XXXX) however, he does not answer his phone. Something is not right with this business and I would like to be refunded in cash my $86.85 that was stolen. Thank you for your time.Desired SettlementI want to be refunded the $86.85 that I am owed in cash.

I cancelled my membership in Jan 2014, confirmed verbally by staff member, unauthorized weekly debits against credit card restarted February 2014.My account was cancelled in Jan 2014 which was confirmed by a staff menber verbally over the phone. Starting February 13th, Tropic Sun has been debiting my credit card without my permission weekly for $21.95. I have left several phone messages, was told by a staff member that Stephanie could refund monies and was also confirmed again that my account was cancelled. Stephanie did call back once after my 3rd attempt and left a message. I have been trying to get a returned call back from her or anyone else in management to no avail. As of this date 3/24/2014, they have without authorization debited: 2/13, 2/23, 2/27, 3/4, 3/9 and 3/15/2014 each for $21.95 for a total of $131.70 which I would like credited back to my account. I terminated my contract and continue to be charged, not only my the orig. mntly charge but 2x a month. say they will credit my bank account; nothingStarted to notice Tropic Sun location in Worcester was having financial problems from staff. Worcester location just closed in January without notice. I went to Holden location and cancelled membership to stop future payments in January. In February, I reviewed my bank statements and noticed I had been charged more than my scheduled amounts since October (and amounts after I cancelled) Collected appropriate payment of 21.95 on 10/29 for November's payment. The following payments were withdrawn on my account without permission: 10/31 for 21.95, 12/3 for 21.95, 12/13 for 21.95, 2/14 for 21.95, 2/24 for 21.95. I placed a call on 2/27 informing staff. [redacted] said she would refund my bank account) in the amt of 109.75. On 3/3 I noticed another charge of 21.95 from 2/28. I placed another call and [redacted] said she would credit my account of 21.95. On 3/5, another change showed for 21.95. I placed another call. On 3/10, my account reflects another charge of 19.95 from 3/7. [redacted] said she will credit my account again for all other charges, but can't do anything about the 19.95 until [redacted] ([redacted]) figures out what is going on.Desired SettlementI want all monies reimbursed and no further withdrawals. Business Response Have consumer mail her statements to tropic sun 1103 main st and we will send a check for reimbursement Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I have provided this information 2 times, via in person to [redacted]. I have also faxed to XXX-XXX-XXXX. The burden should not fall on me to continue to provide this documentation when it has been provided several times. I was promised on 3/13 from [redacted] that [redacted] would be sending a check on 3/14. As of 3/26 still no check. I check back with [redacted] on 3/26 and she said to call back tomorrow so she could find out which 'batch' the check was being mailed with. [redacted] is only looking to buy himself more time.

This tanning salon advertises unlimited tanning for 1 month at $19.99. When I went to inquire about this deal on March 1st, they girl at the front desk told me that was an old special and that the owner hasn't taken it down yet. For several weeks after, not only is there a giant sticker on the window but they had a stand up sign which they take in every night advertising the same special, but do not honor it. I sign is now gone, but the window sticker is still up a month later.Product_Or_Service: 1 Month TanningDesired SettlementI would like the difference of what was advertised and what I paid ($29.99) for 1 month and for them to remove their fraudulent advertising. It's complete bait and switch.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]@CHARTER.NETWE HAVE FOUR UNLIMITED PALNS FROM 19.95 TO 69.95.hE PURCHASED THE 29.95 PLAN.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I was told that the 19.95 unlimited tanning was a special and not offered when I had purchased the 29.95 plan, yet it was advertised on the window and store front sign for several weeks after this special "expired." If the 19.95 plan was still available, I should have been given that price point. I'm fine with what plan I had received and have no complaints otherwise, but it was annoying to see that fold up sign still outside the door for several weeks after I was told it was not offered. To me, this was a bait and switch tactic.

Purchased tanning package from Tropic Sun tanning salon and when I returned to tan the store was permanently closed.I purchased a Tanning Package from Tropic Sun tanning salon located in Webster Sq in Worcester, MA. The package was purchased on 11/29/13. I tanned at the salon twice, on my third attempt to visit the store was closed and the door was chained shut. There was no information provided with regard to refunds. Attempts to contact other locations were unsuccessful. Several friends encouraged me to file a comlpaint.Desired SettlementI would like the [redacted] I paid for the tanning package refunded in full.

I have been overcharged for services in the amount of $195.55 as of today with no resolution.Began noticing Tropic Sun location in Worcester was having financial problems from staff. Worcester location unexpectedly closed in January without notice. I went to Holden location and cancelled membership to stop future payments in January. In February, I reviewed my credit card statements and realized I was charged more than my scheduled amounts back as far as October right up through 2/24/14. I was charged correctly on 12/3/13 which should have been my final charge. The erroneous/duplicate charges occurred on 10/29, 10/31, 12/13, 12/30, 2/14, 2/24. I went to the Holden site and provided them with a print out of the duplicate charges and was assured I would see a credit on my credit card within a couple days. After a couple weeks with no credit showing, I placed a call to the Holden site and spoke with [redacted] and let her know I not only didn't get the credit by also have more charges 2/28, 3/5, 3/7, and 3/10. Stephanie told me she had tried processing credit for the $109.75 (for which I have a receipt) but it did not go through. Now the total owed to me is $195.55 with the latest charge just 2 days ago. This was supposed to be a monthly charge of $19.95 which then changed to $21.95 at least a year ago. The rate change was fine but 2 of these extra charges are at the old rate from over a year ago. When I spoke with Stephanie earlier this week, she said the company these use for ACH transactions would be issuing me a credit but I still don't have it and now no one answers the phone at the Holden site. I keep getting told the owner [redacted] is supposed to be working on this but it doesn't seem like it since I've spoken with many other people who go to Tropic Sun and they are all having the same problem. Something needs to be done - many people are being taken advantage of with no resolution in sight. Thank you.Desired SettlementI would like a credit for all charges made to my credit card that were not authorized or duplicates as stated above.Business Response WE ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE OVERCHARGING WITH THE EFT PLAN THAT WE HAVE. WE WERE ISSUING CREDITS THROUGH OUR COMPANY. HOWEVER CUSTOMERS WERE DISPUTING CHARGES AND RECEIVING DOUBLE CREDITS.WE ARE NOTIFING OUR CUSTOMERS TO DISPUTE CHARGES THROUGH THERE CREDIT CARD CO.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I have continued to try and contact this business and they don't answer their phone and don't have a voice mail option. They have never reached out to me to tell me to go through my bank. They told me they were going to issue me a check multiple times and now they want me to fix their issue. I feel it is their responsibility to correct their problem.

I have no receipt,Signed up for 12 sun tanning sessions. I paid [redacted] I did 3 sessions,Today a sign on door from their landlord. Locks were changed. How do I get reimburstment, They should of gave us a noice. This is not right. I would like to know how to go about this Desired SettlementOnly whats fareBusiness Response All memberships will be honored at our Holden location. I would like a refund.Final Business Response All memberships will be honored at our Holden location at [redacted]. No refunds will be givenConsumer Response I was told to use there Holden Ma area Tanning place. I can not go that far and will not. I was never told to bring anything to there bank. I bought a special from them (buy 6 get 6 Free) used it twice and they closed the doors. I never got a receipt from them nor have I ever received one in the past. [redacted]

Unable to obtain refund for tan package purchase at Hudson and location subsequently closed with no notice.I had purchased a multi-tan package on my account at Tropic Sun Tanning in Hudson, MA. I still had remaining tans on my account prior to purchase that I continued to use, so these were in addition for future use over the next several months. However, I went to the business in August and were shocked to see the location was closed and their equipment was being removed due to not getting the lease renewed. There was a sign on the door explaining this and to contact one of their other locations in Worcester or Holden and that our accounts would be usable there. I purchased the tan package for use at the Hudson location. Traveling to one of their other locations to use the package is not acceptable, as it would make it go from a short trip to over an hour round trip. I would NOT have purchased this plan if I could only use it at the business' other locations that are not in the area. I tried multiple times to contact both the Holden and Worcester locations to request a refund of the tan package that I am unable to use. I was able to speak with a front desk person, but they said I would have to speak with the manager or owner, who never happened to be in. They took my name/number and said would leave a message for the manager or owner and they would get in contact with me. I've left multiple messages with both stores and have not received a call back, so it is obvious they know what happened and are ignoring customers who paid for a product we cannot use.Desired SettlementI am expecting a full refund of the $93.50 for the wholly unused tan package that I purchased.Business Response Although I sympathize with this customer we are honoring all packages at our other locations. The landlord gave us a 30 day notice to vacate the property after 11 years at this location. We are simply not offering cash refunds for any memberships at this location.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)While I understand the issue with the landlord, it is ultimately the business responsibility to uphold their 'end of the bargain' and not dump their problems on the customer with no recourse. This is an unacceptable response, and would be like going to buy a car, but then being given a totally different car when going to pick it up and the dealer saying too bad thats all we have.Additionally, your store continued to sell packages and plans for that location after receiving notice to vacate, knowing that you would not be able to honor them. That is both deceptive and unethical business practice.I will reiterate again, being able to use the package at another location is not an acceptable option as it is not a close drive. I would NOT have purchased a package if I knew I would have to make an hour round trip to use the facilities.
