TERRIBLE!!! Guy was rude and irritating! They were sent from my warranty company and they showed up looked inside the unit and told me nothing they could do and warranty will not pay for it... then I turned a/c back on and the u it started rattling. That’s when the tech stopped answering the phone. And the receptionist tried to get tech to come back to my house. When he called back he said he didn’t do anything and it’s my problem..... I then had to have another ac tech to come out and turns out they dropped the power cables into the fan and the fan was cutting the wires up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

We understand it is quite disappointing when one discovers something is not covered under warranty. There are many reasons*** why this occurs — though more often, items covered within warranty guidelines, are serviceable. We are sorry that Laura felt irritated because we cannot service equipment outside of warranty coverage. It is risky to Turn-On faulty equipment; glad to hear that a rattle was found to be wires hitting the fan (not our doing) — when turning back on faulty equipment, it could have caused a much worse situation.
*A few examples: altered equipment, improperly serviced by an unauthorized person, damaged outside of a covered situation....
Laura can confirm with her warranty carrier as to why the decline occurred.

This company was sent out through my warranty company to fix the air conditioner that went out a few days after purchasing this house. I called late afternoon on a Friday (knowing no one would be available). They came out at 7am on Saturday (on time) and were great. They replaced the part and showed me how to fix it myself if it ever went out again. I was very satisfied with the two guys that were here. It has been almost two months now, and no problems.

I have a different company coming out for a completely different problem from the warranty company, and I am worried about the service I will be receiving since their reviews are horrible. as for Tropical Air, I was pleased with the customer service, and the guys who did the repairs.

Thank you ***!
Glad everything worked out, as we always pride ourselves in doing our very best. Sorry it took this long to see your review and respond.

This is the second time my Warranty company sent this company to fix my AC unit. The first time, AC broke after about a month they repaired it, and I requested the warranty company to send a different company. It was fixed. That lasted over 2 years. The second time the warranty company send TROPICAL AIR again, JOHN said it will need about 6 pounds of freon and will charge me hundreds of $. I told them that the AC is running and cold air coming out of the intake but the blower was not working. He seems irritated and rude during our conversation. He then check the blower. Sure enough, that blower is not working. He then replaced the blower, the blower belt, capacitor for the compressor and told me it will need about 3-4 pounds of freon. Now I wonder how long this repair will last. Seems like this guys first solution is the freon without checking and running the whole system before saying...."you will need XX pounds of freon and will cost you $300-400! Stay away from this company.

Often a Warranty Company will send the most recent service techs back to a customer due to the techs familiarity with the equipment. Unfortunately, equipment may fail soon after a repair due to another matter, such as an electronic component which was working fine; then failed. Of course, we would like to be able to control this, yet it is impossible to predict.
If freon is needed for proper operation of an AC unit, we recommend the unit be topped-up. We will give the customer a guesstimate of the amount of freon that may be needed to give the customer a heads-up of the potential expense. We do have any say in the cost of freon and assuredly will only charge the customer for the actual amount of freon needed to top-up the unit.
After the guesstimate of freon needed, we proceed to thoroughly check what more is needed for proper operation of the unit. In this case, apparently 3 items were needed for proper operation of the blower. Once those were taken care of, Karl notes that 3-4 pounds of freon topped-up the unit (confirming that charges for freon are determined by actual quantity/usage).
We apologize for any possible misunderstanding Karl may have thought by his suggesting that our first and only solution is that freon is needed without further confirmation of what’s truly required for proper operation of an AC unit.

TYPO-CORRECTION: "We do NOT have any say in the cost of freon and assuredly will only charge the customer for the actual amount of freon needed to top-up the unit
