This place is a total rip off!! All of their information is totally misleading. They con you into a membership that has all of these supposed benefits, yet they don't send you any info on when to use these benefits or when they expire. They also make it very difficult to leave! You have to send a certified letter to cancel your membership so they don't forget to cancel it and stop charging you??? Are you kidding me? Go anywhere else or you will be charged out the rear end.

Review: In August of 2015 I tried cancelling my membership. the first letter I sent was not certified, so it was my mistake. I then followed their cancellations procedures Sept and Oct because even though I sent a certified letter both times my account was charged. finally the automatic debit stopped going through so I assumed my letter was acknowledged and we had cancelled my membership.

I never changed my credit card account but on May 8 they charged my account (which did not change numbers) for 8 charges which the credit card company got back. I then had to close that account and get a new one due to the fraudulent activity but then they did a card find and charged me the next month. I finally went in and talked to Jill who said she'd handle it and get it cancelled and they are still charging my card. I just sent a 3rd certified cancellation letter today, but this company is crooked they can't just randomaly act like they didn't get two certified letters, not charge an account that DID NOT CHANGE for months then blast the card with payments. luckily I watch that card as I pay it off each month.Desired Settlement: I want my account cancelled FINALLY and the last two $5.00 charges refunded so $10.00 total. I was gonna let last month slide because Jill said it was taken care of but this company is stealing my money.

Review: I was in the Greensburg location for tanning mid June 2016 when I asked about cancelling my membership. I was told that you have to write a letter and send it certified mail to a different location and within 30 days it would cancel. The front desk girl advised me that I could simply put my membership on a "freeze" which would keep my membership active but not charge my account until I took it off. I was doing this because of vacationing the rest of the summer and would not be here starting the month of July 2016. She wrote my name on a clipboard that is used for putting the freeze into effect. When I checked my bank account in July $87.99 had been deducted from my account. I called and a girl told me that it was supposed to be put on freeze and that she would contact the manager and given a refund. I heard nothing and over a week later I still wasn't refunded the money. I called back and another girl insisted that it takes 30 days to go into effect. I was never told this in June because I would have put a stop payment on it with my bank. I asked for a manager to call me back and still have not heard anything. After looking at some reviews on this business it seems that they do this to people all the time and make it impossible to get your money back or to actually talk to a manger regarding any issues. I went to my bank and am getting the charges reversed and it now has my account on lockdown. This all was very unprofessional and unnecessary.Desired Settlement: I've contacted them to resolve the matter and no one will return the call. I just want my money refunded permanently my membership cancelled and to never deal with them again!

Review: The owner of the company name is [redacted]. She has failed to call me about my issues. Ive been trying for over 2 months to freeze my membership and they never let me freeze it. They have taken hundreds of dollars from me. I do not tan at this facility. The girls working at the facility are rude. The owners do not care about their customers, they just want a paycheck. This is not the first complaint Ive made about this problem. The owner refuses to call me because she knows she is in the wrong. We signed a contract not even knowing what we were signing. She needs to stop abusing her customers at all locations.Desired Settlement: I want all my money refunded to me and my membership with this company terminated. I do not wanna deal with this facility anymore.

Review: I have had the absolute worst experience with Tropical Sunsations. They do not fully disclose all details of the "so called agreement". When I made an attempt to cancel services they said that because my cancellation letter was not mailed as a certified letter that it was not going to be acknowledged. I spoke to [redacted] who I was told was the owner by a rude employee I spoke to on the phone at the Latrobe location, who told me when I spoke to her that her husband (being [redacted]'s husband the person I was speaking to) was the owner. I expressed my frustration with the fact that it was this complicated to cancel my services with them. She seemed to care less and instead of providing a solution for my problem made excuse after excuse for the issues. I am completely disgusted that I have wasted my time and money with an establishment that could care less about customer experience. I signed up for this so called "discounted package" of $84.+ Per month for a tanning package; the last week of July and was charged for a full month. August 1, 2014 I was billed another $84.+ For another month to be told that I needed to give 30 notice that I wanted to cancel this package. I mailed in the cancellation on Friday August 22nd and when I called to see if this was received I was told a long story of how it is in a safe and not taken out until the first of the month and the only person with access to this is [redacted]'s husband. So on September 1st when they charged me another $84+ why did I not hear anything about my cancellation.... well because apparently in the style of this terrible establishment, you MUST mail them a certified letter or apparently your cancellation letter will be discarded. PLEASE PLEASE think twice before making a commitment with this business or giving them any of your personal information. I should have known better from day one when I felt as if I was being sold a used car by [redacted], who at the time I was unaware this was the owners wife working in the Greensburg, PA location. FinalDesired Settlement: I want my membership with this business cancelled.

Review: My 17 year old daughter went into Tropical Sunsations to purchase 1 month of tanning. The girl told her that the best deal was 39.99 a month and asked her to sign a contract. What she neglected to say was that there would be a $32 fee to sign up and that she would be charged $39.99 a month until she wrote a letter to cancel.Desired Settlement: I want the $32 refunded and the $39.99 to be refunded that is going to be charged on April 1st. I am not allowing her to return to tan there since they are taking advantage of children. A 17 year old should not be allowed to sign a contract.

Review: I started tanning with Tropical Sunsations for about two weeks. I was using the Greensburg and Murrysville salons. My co-worker also started tanning with Tropical Sunsations and was primarily using the Murrysville salon. We both got athlete's foot from the tanning beds at the Murrysville salon. The beds are obviously not being properly cleaned. When I contacted the owner all she had to say was that her salons use hospital grade cleaners and that I could have a list of the ingredients. I have no doubt that the salons have hospital grade cleaner, but they aren't effective if they're not being used. On top of getting athlete's foot from their beds, they are charging me for a month of tanning when I'm not even using their salons and this month isn't even half way over, not to mention the thirty dollar start up fee. When I signed up for tanning I was never told that in order to cancel your tanning subscription you have to send a letter by certified mail to their corporate office in Latrobe. Needless to say I would NEVER recommend Tropical Sunsations to anyone. All the owner is worried about is money, not the customers.Desired Settlement: I am being charged for a month of tanning for the month of April when I'm not even tanning at Tropical Sunsations anymore. I want this to be refunded to my account because I was never told I had to send a letter by certified mail and I missed the 30 day time frame to cancel.

Review: HAVE NOT BEEN IN THE TANNING SALON FOR 3 YEARS. THEY CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD ON 4-21-2014 FOR $65.00 THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST. MADE 9 PHONE CALLS LEFT MESSAGES FOR THE OWNWERS THEY DO NOT RETURN CALLS. NEVER SEEN A BUSINESS RUN LIKE THIS THEY RIP PEOPLE OFF. HAVE TO KEEP CALLING THE BANK THEY REFUND IT BACK. BUT THIS TIME THE BANK WAN TS ME TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT AND GET A NEW ONE BEFOR THEY WILL CREDIT IT BACK. I HAVE SO MANY BILL PAY ON THIS CARD THAT THIS WILL CAUSE SUCH PROUBLEMS CHANGEING EVERYTHING AROUND WHEN THEY COULD FIX IT.Desired Settlement: JUST WANT THE FERUND OF $65.00 BACK

Review: I sent registered letter way back last spring/summer to this company that I was cancelling membership. It was over six months ago. I no longer have record. The charge my card multiple times in February. 7 to be exact. I tried to speak with owner and they would not return my call.Desired Settlement: I want charges to be refunded.

Review: I purchased a tanning package for $60.00. When I made the purchase, I thought the total cost was $60.00. Instead, I have been charged $60.00 a month since the purchase. The amount is automatically deducted from my account. I did not realize that I would be charged monthly. I was misled to think that I purchased only one month. I immediately called the salon when I noticed the deductions, and I asked to cancel. I was told by the owner that I could not cancel over the phone. I had to send a letter. I sent a letter, but the charges did not stop. I called again, and I was told that I had to send a certified letter. On July 2nd I sent a certified letter. I expressed several times that I don't live in the area any longer, and I have not visited the salon to use the services--and they know that! They continue to charge me for a service I can not use. I feel like I have been scammed!Desired Settlement: I want my membership/package cancelled immediately. I want to be refunded for the months I was charge for, after my initial request (April) to cancel
