I attempted to solicit Trout Unlimited's support for a conversation fight my hunting and fishing club is waging against Duke PowerDuke Power is attempting to erect a power line through the property in Spartanburg, South CarolinaI sent an email to TU requesting their support and never received a responseI looked on the local branch's web site and called Mike H [redacted] of the mountain bridge TU chapter to ascertain if they had received the requestHe became totally unprofessional with me saying "I didn't have the [redacted] to give him my name" while I tried to terminate the conversationHe became confrontational and wanted me to meet him for a physical altercationMy wife heard the entire conversationShe said she has never heard such a rude and crude man as Mike H***She and I both told the chapter president Jason L [redacted] who said that he had never heard Mike H [redacted] talk like this to anyone in the years he has been chapter presidentHe said he would look into itI told Jason L [redacted] that we didn't want TU's support at our land hearing against Duke Power building a power line across our club' propertyI cited the reason for my decision because this is an important meeting that will give us our only chance to save our propertyWe don't need hotheads with zero manners speaking at a meeting that is this importantI have been a member of TU for many years but have terminated my membership after being treated like a dog by this chapters representativeMike H [redacted] contempt for TU's leadership above him is also very apparentI would recommend that future and fellow members of TU take a good l [redacted] look at an organization that treats paying members in the manner I was treatedI would not recommend anyone joining this organizationThey want your money and when need their help, you get treated like a 2nd class person
