I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[The information stated by Troy is incorrect. *** has placed a disputed/unvalidated debt on my credit report - see attached.
9/I spoke with Troy University's business office in an attempt to clear and accounting error. An error in which I feel should be a $credit to my account.
Troy University in Phenix City's business office told me they could not help me and to speak with the collection's agency. In addition, I was referred to the collection agency in 9/who did not validate the debt which was removed from my credit report. The account was transferred from one credit collections company to a second without validating the debt or contacting student
As of 9/10/Troy stated that the dispute was not noted, I came to the office and filed notes as well as notes from my physician as I was ill and under care the remainder of that semester - see attachéd
If Troy is stating that I should speak with someone at Troy, please tell me the name of that contact person and telephone number so I can make an appointment to clear this error for both Troy and myselfand as stated by Troy.
Troy states the account should not be on my credit a report by ***, but as you see from the attached, it is for the second time and should be deleted immediately. I lost points as soon as this was reported in error
Resolve requested, delete the inaccurate information from all three credit bureaus today, and provide me the name and number of the person at Troy University that can assist me in resolving this issue. ]

*** *** was recruited at *** *** in the spring when she attended a Troy
University nursing program presentation that was given to a group of
nursing
studentsMs*** received the recruitment brochure and was shown the
PowerPoint presentation that we use for recruitment and the materials
that we give to potential studentsShe was late completing her application
packetShe contacted TROY over the summer regarding admission
The
student was told that we do not currently have RN-MSN optionAt this time, the
only way at TROY to get a MSN with nurse practitioner concentration is to first
have a BSNWe do not advise on what other nursing schools offer
As
for not being registered for classes until the first week of classes, the
student did not present her RN license to TROY until August 11, In
addition, the student did not email the full list of classes for registration
until 3:PM on August 11thShe was registered first thing on August 12th
Ms***’s initial appeal was denied, because there
was no supporting evidence that she was misadvised. *** *** was
advised correctly according to TROY’s requirements for obtaining a master’s
degree with a family nurse practitioner (FNP) concentration. Students
must have earned a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) first. Therefore,
the track Ms*** was on was correct. She applied and enrolled in our
registered nurse (RN) to BSN program

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I was not late applying to the school I did not get my license to them sooner because I did not have it yet As a new graduate, I didn't take boards till August and found out I passed august An advisor never met with me before enrolling in classes The money came out of my own pocket and not to be reimbursed for any portion of it after only being in the classes for a month is unacceptable That shows me and others I have spoke with that Troy doesn't care about their students, only about the money $wouldn't effect Troy university but it puts a large hole in my pocket They even had me pay liability insurance and I never attended a clinical.

[redacted] is currently taking actions to remove debt from student’s credit report. Troy University has reviewed student’s billing for 12/SP, 12/T3, and 12/T4 and found no errors. A statement will be mailed to student at the current address Troy has on file for student. The contact name and phone number student may contact to setup payment arrangements or pay in full is [redacted] at ###-###-#### X1210.

This student’s dispute claim
was never noted in student’s account by Troy University. The student’s account
was closed at Conserve, due to account being more than 18 months old on 6/8/14.
The account was then placed with...

[redacted] on 6/18/14. [redacted]
received a dispute from student on 7/18/14. [redacted] immediately made contacted
with Troy University requesting documentation be sent for the dispute claim. On
8/5/14, [redacted] received and submitted the requested documentation from Troy
University.

This account should not
be on the student’s credit report, because Conserve removed it due to
Troy University not validating account and [redacted] has not reported it,
because student currently has an active dispute claim in place. This student’s account
has been recalled from [redacted] Collections, so student will receive no
further contact from the collection agency. The student can contact Troy
University to pay the balance due in full or setup payment arrangements.

The stated application deadline
for a complete application packet which includes RN licensure in the state of
practice was due on July 1st. Ms. [redacted] requested that her
application be held until she was able to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination.
This is something that we typically do for newly graduating associate degree
students. Ms. [redacted] did speak to an advisor. Dr. [redacted], RN-BSN/MSN
Track Coordinator, reviewed the official academic evaluation with the student
and informed the student that the only pre-requisite missing was passing the
NCLEX-RN and having state licensure. In fact, Ms. [redacted]’s academic courses did
not transfer without further assistance from Dr. [redacted] and the Records
Department. Course descriptions were required to be sent for several courses on
the student’s transcripts. This occurred on 7/8/2014, a week after the 7/1/14
deadline for complete applications. Please see the Step 2 application which
details the documents that are required for a complete application. Ms. [redacted]
communicated in person with an advisor on the Phenix City campus and via phone
with Dr. [redacted] on the Troy campus. Liability insurance is one of the many
clinical requirements for students enrolled in NSG 4406. Please review the Step
2 admission application signed and submitted by the student that outlines the
clinical requirements. These requirements were to be completed no later than August
27, 2014 for students enrolled in NSG 4406. A letter outlining the clinical
requirements was mailed to all students prior to the beginning of the fall
semester. Ms. [redacted] emailed faculty requesting to be enrolled in all courses
in the RN-BSN clinical sequence. Please see attachment regarding the
registration request.
