I am rejecting this response because:
Cottage Grove City inspector, our attorney and Cottage Grove police indicated you were aware this action of pulling a permit for an unlicensed contractor not working under your company was illegal and that you, therefore, you are the responsible party since you initially pulled permit and work was done, per contract, that Matt was your subcontractor

This was brought to our attention when Matt From *** *** came to us and was unable to secure a permit on this propertyWe in return asked Matt to secure a contract with the homeowner thru Trs Builders to do the workWe pulled a permit for the work to be done but was unaware that any
work was being done or that money had been exchanged until we received a call from the homeowner stating that the roof wasn't done and that it was suppose to rainAt this time I went there and couldn't believe itMatt from endless possibility did purchase siding from us that was not a match at allI did my best to try and find a match but was unable to which at that time I told the homeowner that I would reimburse her the money that Matt paid us which was $I told the homeowner that I was going to cancel the permit with the City and she asked me whyI explained to her that that we hadn't received any money on this project and that's when we found out that she had paid Matt from *** ***We did pull our permit off this job as we didn't want to be liable for work that wasn't done by TRS Builders from our understanding Matt from *** *** was working under another General Contractor named Russel that was referred to him by his attorney to clear up jobs that he had taken money on and not completedFrom our understanding this contractor was going to pull permits as Matt was working under him as a apprenticeshipFrom our understanding *** *** subs finished this project .We don't feel that Trs Builders should be held liable for work that was not completed thru our company nor any payments where made besides the siding that Matt had purchased from us which we are willing to reimburse the homeowner forWe where mislead by Matt from *** *** with excuses and lies as to what was going on with this project and once we found out that we where swindled by him we cut all ties and pulled our permit off this project

Our attorney John *** called the complainant yesterday to discuss this matterWe have a few concern that we would like to addressWe have not received any receipts or documentation on the work that was performed or of what has been paid.
