On behalf of TruAssure Insurance Company (“TruAssure”), this will serve to respond to the complaint filed by "Calibri Light", sans-serif;">William [redacted] regarding the individual dental policy he obtained through the Marketplace It is our understanding that such programs are risk policies The following will set forth our handling of this matterMr [redacted] enrollment was received by TruAssure via an electronic file on 02/19/for an effective date of 02/01/Monthly invoices were sent to the consumer thereafterIn recent invoices, the consumer was behind on premium dueOur record shows that the last payment received from the consumer was on 06/30/for May, June, and July coverageTruAssure sent invoices for August and September but no payment nor any communication was received from Mr [redacted] The policy was terminated on 09/09/due to non-payment of premium with the last paid thru date of 07/31/On 09/20/2016, the consumer contacted TruAssure wherein he was advised that the policy was terminated due to non-payment and that we are not able to reinstate retroactive to 08/01/as it is a Marketplace policyHe was offered an option to re-enroll in an off exchange policy with an effective date of 10/01/To date, TruAssure has not received any further communications from Mr [redacted] We believe the above information responds to this complaint and concludes our handling of this matterIf you have any questions, please contact me at [redacted] @deltadentalil.com or 630/718-Sincerely, Carolyn M [redacted] Director, Compliance

03/01/On 12/21/2016, TruAssure received a written notice from the member to cancel the policyThe policy was terminated as of the last paid thru date of 01/31/2017, and no further payment would be processedOn 12/29/2016, the member contacted TruAssure wherein she was advised that her request to terminate the policy on 12/21/was after our billing cycle had begun, therefore, we terminated the policy as of the last paid thru date of 01/31/Our policy stipulates under SECTION 3: WHEN COVERAGE BEGINS AND ENDS - How Long Is Coverage Effective Under This Policy?If You elect to discontinue this Policy, You must provide appropriate notice to the Exchange or Us to terminate this PolicyThe termination of this Policy will be as specified by You, if the Exchange and We have a reasonable amount of time from the date on which You provide notice to terminate this PolicyIf the Exchange or We do not have a reasonable amount of time from the date on which You provide notice to terminate this Policy, the last day this Policy will be in effect will be the first day after such reasonable amount of time has passed“Reasonable amount of time” means fourteen (14) days for the requested effective date of termination.As we have noted, TruAssure received the written notice from the member on 12/21/The policy states that the last day policy will be in effect will be the first day after fourteen (14) days from the date we received the notice of termination, which is 01/05/2017; however, our company standard cancels as of the last paid thru dateIn the spirit of good customer service, our Consumer Direct Department has cancelled the policy retroactively effective 12/31/2016, and a request was sent to our Finance Department on 01/04/for a refund check of $for the January premiumNo further payments will be processed.We believe the above information responds to this complaint and concludes our handling of this matterIf you have any questions, please contact me at c***@deltadentalil.com or ***Sincerely,Carolyn M*** Director, Compliance

of this matter Mr*** policy with TruAssure was effective 01/01/Our records show that he enrolled on December of On 12/30/2015, we received a call from the member requesting to cancel his policy and to ensure that there will be no further charges on his credit cardOur Consumer Direct department transferred the member to the Marketplace where he was advised that he needed to send a written request to cancel effective 12/31/ On 01/09/2016, TruAssure received a notice from the Marketplace to terminate Mr*** individual plan effective 12/31/Please note that we did not received the notice until 01/09/and the member was on automatic withdrawal, hence, the payment for January premium was processed even after the member called to cancel 02/12/2016, a confirmation letter that the policy was cancelled on 12/31/was mailed to the member’s address on file (see attached) and a refund check will be sent to the member in the amount of $20.93. On 01/13/2016, our Consumer Direct department called Mr*** and left a voice message to confirm that the policy was cancelled and a refund check will be mailed to him We apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused the memberWe believe the above information responds to this complaint and concludes our handling of this matterIf you have any questions, please contact me at *** ** ***Sincerely, *** ** *** Director, Compliance
