agreeable to . [redacted] also wanted the repairs made reasonably quickly, which we understood and acknowledged. [redacted] brought us 2 body shop quotes which ranged in costs from $3022. to $4024, which we knew were very high relative to the alleged damage. Plus, [redacted] was not happy with the turnaround time or repair time which these two body shops could provide to him. They were out about 1 month to the best of my recollection. We suggested that we could make arrangements to get a quote in short order and have the repairs made in reasonable time at an accredited body shop in Edmonton which we were familiar with. To describe this particular body shop as being friends of ours, as [redacted] implies is an overstatement and not accurate at all. We are familiar with the body shop which we were recommending on a professional and trade level only. [redacted] was agreeable to taking his vehicle to this body shop at first. We went ahead and made the necessary arrangements to have this vehicle's repairs quoted.
However [redacted] changed his mind. He did not want to deal with this body shop. He absolutely insisted that we give him a check for $3500 to reconcile this matter.
We described the alleged damage to the body shop which we were recommending and they quoted us significantly less money relative to the other quotes which [redacted] had presented. The quote they provided was actually fair money relative to the alleged damage. [redacted] no longer cared, it was no longer about getting the alleged damage on his vehicle repaired, it was about handing over an excessive amount of money to him and letting him deal with the matter.
We hope this further clarifies the situation and our position relative to [redacted] alleged claim.

[redacted] was right he did offer to repair my vehicle at first, and said and I quote " my buddy has a body shop down the road", to which I quickly said no too and that I would take too body shops to get quotes. It was that comment that he made that lead me to assume they were friends. So I took two separate days off work to get the quotes. As I said before in my initial complaint Mr Wood insisted that I get my truck through his buddy(business associate) and he would Pay for it.
[redacted] sent my two quotes to this body shop, [redacted] at [redacted], and that's what he based his quote off of. I talked to [redacted] on the phone after mine and [redacted] last text conversation and he told me once again that the only reason that his quote is way lower is because he was doing it as a favour to [redacted]. He also sent me a copy and informed me that his repair hours, parts and times were the same as the other quotes because he used the same computer program. Like I said before it only because of the business/ friend relationship between [redacted] and [redacted] that the quote is so much lower than the others.
What this still boils down to is that [redacted] is only willing to fix the damage that he caused if I get it fixed by his business associate were he can save money, he cares nothing about me or my damaged vehicle. I still believe I have the right to get it fixed where I want and the reason why I insisted cash from [redacted] was for two reasons, if I took it to a shop of MY choosing I new he would not pay and second I wanted no further dealings with [redacted] after the way he treated me and my vehicle.
[redacted] has a very in accurate and delusional account of what took place and is trying very hard to down play the damage he caused. This frustrates me because now he is even using words like "alleged damage", preparing for a court I guess. Either way I'm prepared to go the distance to get the wrong that was done to me right. I also informed [redacted] that all our conversations we had after we discovered the damage were video recorded and yet he still tries twist the truth and to put words in my mouth in his responses.

I would really like settle this without going to court, however with [redacted] and his belief that I have to get my vehicle fixed at his associates/ buddy's place where he gets a great deal and mine being that I have the right to take it where I want, it does look good. Also [redacted] mentioned that I don't care about getting my truck fixed, regardless I still deserve compensation for the damage/ compensation he caused to my vehicle.

If [redacted] does go to court I will be asking for the highest quote, costs and additional 1180.00 that I had to spend on ** protection to prevent rusting while waiting for this matter to get settled. With the evidence that I have I don't believe it to be a problem to accomplish.
