True Value Security Alarm Systems Reviews (2)

Review: I UNFORTUNATELY DID BUSINESS WITH THIS FIRM . MITCHELL M[redacted] OF TRUE VALUE SECURITY SYSTEMS HAPPENS TO BE SOMEONE I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH AGAIN. THERE WERE INCIDENTS OVER TIME WHERE HE REVEALED 'ADDITIONS' THAT WERE NOT IN OUR CONTRACT. THERE WERE COUNTLESS DISAGREEMENTS WITH THE INSTALLATION . DURING MY 3 YEAR CONTRACT, I HAD A SERVICE CONTRACT AS WELL. A SERVICE CONTRACT MEANS NO COST TO CLIENT AS LONG AS IT IS NOT REGULAR WEAR AND TEAR. I HAD PROBLEMS WITH SYSTEM AND UPON HIM FIXING THEM AT MY HOME, HE THEN PROCEDED TO WANT TO BILL ME A $150 TRAVEL CHARGE. I HAVE USED OTHER ALARM FIRMS OVER THE YEARS AND NEVER EVER WAS CHARGED ANYTHING FOR A REPAIR THAT WASN'T NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR.. ADDITIONALLY HE ONLY LIVES 25 MINUTES FROM MY HOME AND IN HIS MIND WARRANTS THIS FEE. ALSO, THERE WAS NOTHING IN OUR SERVICE CONTRACT STATING THERE WOULD BE A TRAVEL FEE. NOW THAT OUR THREE YEAR CONTRACT HAS EXPIRED, MR. M[redacted] HAS REMOTELY SHUT DOWN MY ALARM SYSTEM WHICH I PURCHASED AND HAS MADE MY SMOKE DETECTORS AND CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS INOPERABLE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY ATTORNEY AND OTHER ALARM FIRMS THIS IS AN ILLEGAL PRACTICE. I UNDERSTAND NO MORE CENTRAL STATION CONNECTION BUT TO SHUT DOWN A SYSTEM IREMOTELY I PURCHSED AND OWN IS UNETHICAL.Desired Settlement: UNLOCK MY ALARM SYSTEM

I have decided I do not want to pursue this matter. Please remove my complaint.Sincerely,

Review: [redacted] of True Value Alarms is the most underhanded and dubious person I have ever entered into an agreement with. I found his firm through [redacted] and we agreed to a 3 year contract after initial installation on 11/**/12. They provide security/alarm systems plus monitoring whit is billed quarterly. My installation was done in 2 visits because of ongoing repairs to my home from Hurricane Sandy. We agreed on the cost of the installation. I have had nothing but horrible experiences in deling with him. Upon completion of the second phase he provided me with his bill which include an additional $150 for walking in my door which I was not informed of prior to his visit. We then had a heated discussion and he then tried to waive the additional fee by selling me more products. He continued to do this throughout our interaction that day and on subsequent days whenever we had further discussions. He walked out of my home that day without taking the money due him (less the $150). He was incredibly rude, used profanity and was extremely unprofessional. In additional discussion later on, he texted me to find a new service provider ( I have kept the text.) I had let him know I would do this but had not taken any action as of yet. I was billed $130.62 on 8/**/13 for my quarterly bill via my credit card which I authorized in the contract. I also tried to have [redacted] arbitrate on my behalf and no agreement had been made. The bottom line, is I do not want to do business with him any more, do not want him in my home n and want the contract to be voided. I still need additional security for 2 doors which were newly installed last month. Today on September *, 2013 my credit card had an unauthorized charge of $1175. I called him to ask why there was a charge and he said look at my contract and hung up. He knows I am pursuing to void the contract so he took it upon himself to bill me for services not provided. I continued to pay him his quarterly fee. He wanted to charge me in advance thinking I may cancel my credit card. I have now done so with my credit card company and have not authorized them to pay True Value. They are only authorized to bill me quarterly presently for monthly monitoring. I do not wish for my credit rating to be affected because of this. He forced my hand into cancelling my credit card. I would like his form investigated and my contract voided without him receiving any further money or a return of his equipment because I paid for it.Desired Settlement: I want the contract voided without further penalty to me nor do I want him to be able to retrieve and equipment installed as I have paid for it.
