July 28th, Again this is a bunch of *** and a complete waste of time and money*** *** absolutely knew my hourly rate and even gave us a deposit for a half hour of my time, he paid in cash
*** *** did authorize work to be done and this was witnessed by several people
*** *** did call in several times and he knew how much time went into this projectAfter *** *** authorized the work he refused to pay for that workThis is all fact and it can't be disputedNow *** *** wants me to do more work, confirm that is done and he's not going to pay for that work either.I have stated what I would do and I believe I've made it very clearIf *** *** wants a Confirmation of exactly what was done and when it was done, he is going to pay us.Regards,Stephen S

I am rejecting this response because:
I appreciate Mr. S[redacted] acknowledges I was not informed
about the cost of the repair, which is a standard business practice. I was
neither informed, verbally or in writing, about the $120 shop rates.
At this point my only concern is safeguarding the personal
and professional information contained in the hard drive, some of it official United
Nations files.
I would be very grateful if Mr. S[redacted] could permanently delete ALL the files in his system at his earliest convenience and confirm in writing
this has been done.

To whom it may concern,To start with this is a bunch of [redacted] and a complete waste of time and money. [redacted] did bring his hard drive and he did give me a $60.00 deposit which did represent a half hour of my time and he was made aware of...

this.Originally [redacted] told us that just the case was damaged, after we examined the drive we found that not only was the case damaged but the data on the drive was corrupt and not readable. We called [redacted] and made him aware of the situation and ask him if he wanted us to recover the hard drive. [redacted] told us yes, he needed the data and it was very important. There was at least one other person in the room that heard him tell us this.[redacted] subsequently called us several times during the day asking about the status of his drive and we repeatedly told him we were still working on it. So he absolutely knew we worked on it all day long. It was a 1 terabyte drive and he told us it was almost full.The next morning he came in after we called and was not very professional making derogatory remarks about me and my staff, didn’t want to pay the bill. Told me he would report me to his employer and take legal action against us, wanted his old drive back and me to destroy the data we recovered.While I do not remember if I told him that our data recovery rates were $150 per hour I know he knew our standard shop rates were $120 per hour. Honestly we worked on the project all told 9 hours and billed him for 4.5 hours. We did not give him an estimate of the cost involved because this is data recovery, some firms do, we don’t. There is no way to know exactly what's involved until you get into the project.
[redacted] has a bill to settle if he wants his old drive back. I told [redacted] that I would destroy his recovered data at my convenience. [redacted] had to know that it was going to cost more than $60 to recover a 1 Terabyte drive. Regards,
