Response:

The Service Manager, [redacted], met with Mrs. De [redacted] on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. He followed up with Mr. De [redacted] via phone message. He agreed to put a plan in place to slit seed the damage that occurred on the property. Local reps went out on Thursday and performed the seed repair. There was very nice rainfall the past few days and Mrs. De [redacted] understands the watering procedures.

Review: TruGreen is a lawn care company. As such, they cannot perform landscaping services (including simple weed control) for retaining walls. TruGreen bought out a local landscaping firm that had been providing these services for us (including treating our retaining wall which has several tiers), but did not inform us that they would no longer be treating the tiers. In the first year I was very dissatisfied with the service, because weeds were beginning to grow, but I did not realize the cause. I probably should have fired TruGreen at the time but didn't because life had other higher priorities. However, I did complain. One representative came to our property and said he thought we needed grub control. We called and spoke to a manager who then came out and said he thought we did NOT need grub control, but apparently it was already scheduled because they came out and did the grub control work anyway and submitted an invoice. I was frustrated but, since I wasn't sure whether in fact I actually needed it or not (my "trusted advisors" from TruGreen actually didn't agree), I went ahead and paid it. To make matters worse, apparently TruGreen is under the belief that if they ever provide a service, they can continue to provide that service annually and bill for it. I was not aware of this assumption on their part.

We fired TruGreen earlier this year when we finally realized they weren't handling the retaining wall. Since then I've paid all weed control bills, even though I believe I have received terrible service and our retaining wall looks awful. However, they are asking me to pay for a grub control treatment which they provided. That's a bit more than I can stomach. I believe they ought to refund a majority of the money I paid this year, because they provided terrible service, produced a terrible product, and never bothered to tell us why. But I have not asked for that. All I've asked is that they waive this grub control bill for a service I did not ask for, did not want, and in fact was not even aware they were going to provide. Repeated conversations with their billing departments have not helped, so I am filing this complaint.Desired Settlement: I want TruGreen to void this last charge for service I did not ask for, did not want, and did not know they intended to provide.

Review: I had previously used this service for my lawn. In the past, the program I was established with, the company would spray my lawn several times through the year starting in spring. There was no spring treatment. My lawn developed numerous weeds and crabgrass, along with mushrooms and deadspots. In July, I received a phone call stating that they were scheduled to come out to service the lawn. As I was dissatisfied that they did not come in spring, I called to cancel the service. The customer service representative offered to me a one time spraying at half price, and told me the tech would come out afterwards any number of times until my lawn was back to appropriate conditions. My understanding was that this was a one time only spraying and I would choose at that point if they were to continue to come out. When I received the bill it was for full price contrary to what had been offered to me.

I then received an automated phone call again saying they were scheduled to come out to treat the yard. I was still dissatisfied with the way my yard looked and it was my understanding that my business with them was done. I attempted to call them back, however, there was no answer, just an automated line stating they were closed. I then went online where I accessed my account and sent them an email telling them they did not have my consent to come and treat my yard and that they needed to cancel my service.

Today, they came and sprayed my yard. When I called to complain, customer service said they could cancel my account, however, could not adjust the bill. I then called and requested to speak with management and was told I could not speak with management. The call handler told me that it was my fault that I did not call them back to tell them I was dissatisfied with the service.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to honor their original offer to me of the one spraying from July at half price and to remove all charges for the September spraying that I did not authorize. I further want them to discontinue calling me and remove me from their service plan.

Review: In August 2014, TruGreen was notified NOT to come and spray because we had seeded our front lawn. They came anyways and killed our grass. We contacted the company and was told someone would come out. One representative came out and told us we just needed to rake. Seriously? We called again. Another representative came out and said she noticed the problem immediately as she approached our house confirming the person who sprayed had, in fact, killed our grass. Each person my husband spoke to assured us that they would correct the problem. Now we're being harassed by [redacted] from TruGreen for the August payment ($49), which we refuse to pay because they were told NOT to come and they killed our grass. TERRIBLE customer service.Desired Settlement: We want our grass in the same condition it was before they killed it.

Business

Response:

On 9/29/14 Two service managers went out to the property and re-seeded the entire front lawn that was damaged. [redacted] one of the service managers spoke with Mr. about watering and told Mr he would follow up in 8 days to see the progress.

Mr is satisfied at this point. We will continue to follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.

The 49.00 will be credited.

Thank you,

Review: My husband signed up for a lawn program through a TrueGreen door salesman. After he told me, we looked up reviews for the company and found many complaints. We decided to call to cancel. He called the same day to the HQ location, the company said there was nothing they could do. He called the following day, and was told it was not a problem and they would cancel the service. Two days later, while I was out, an employee left a note on our door saying he treated our lawn and we would be charged. I called the company to complain that we had cancelled the service twice and would not be paying for a service we did not want. I was told that they had no record of our calls and not only would they not refund the automatic payment, but they offered discounts for the future services, completely ignoring the fact that we had called twice to cancel and did not want any services at all. They then agreed to cancel the service, but still refused to refund but said they would look into it more. This is a national chain with local service areas. I wish we had done our research before my husband signed up. Based on other reviews, this will not end anytime soon.Desired Settlement: I would like the payment charged after we cancelled (now three times) to be refunded and discontinue all business with this company.

Business

Response:

It is not TruGreen's intention to provide unwanted services. TruGreen will issue a refund in the amount $31.63 to the credit card. Once the refund is processed, the customer should see the refund reflected on the credit card account within three to seven business days, depending upon the financial institution which issued the credit card. The account is cancelled. TruGreen apologizes for any frustration or inconvenience.

Review: I contacted TruGreen to come service my lawn. I was given a rate of $67 for each treatment. Not knowing any better, I agreed to have them come to do a treatment. That night I spoke with my brother-in-law who told me that when he had TruGreen do his lawn he paid $47 per treatment and they came out to measure his lawn before they gave him a price. He advised that I call them back to see why I was quoted a higher price and why they did not measure my lawn. I called TruGreen the next day and told them why I was upset. The woman who spoke to me told me that they had my lawn down at 8000 square feet and my brother-in-law's lawn at 4000 square feet. I informed her that number one, no one came to measure my lawn or they would have found it to be no more than 1500 feet, and number 2,why was I priced more when no one even came to measure my lawn? She could not, or would not answer as to why I was given a price without someone first measuring my lawn or how the 8000 square feet came to be in my records.I feel I was misled and taken advantage of. I told her I was going to report this so it would not happen to anyone else. They are deceiving people and need to be stopped.Desired Settlement: I want them to send me a written apology and train their people to be ethical.

Ms. [redacted]

Review: I signed a contract with TruGreen lawn care service for an annual chanrge of $359.65, which would be evenly dispersed by debit card (on file with TruGreen) for 6 months. This company has applied only two applications of my yard and they stated three were applied. Also, of the two applications, the entire back yard was not treated. I spoke to TruGreen this morning (7/**/2015) and asked for services to be discontinued, but they refuse to reimburse me for the applications not provided and/or partially provided. I have tried for the past couple months to get TruGreen to apply the back yard, but they have refused.Desired Settlement: To date, I have paid $178.23 to TruGreen and wish for it all to be reimbursed, debit card information erased from file, and my contract terminated with no more phone calls to try to earn my business in the future.

Business

Response:

Tell us why here...We spoke with [redacted] and reviewed the lawn care program applications The program the customer signed included grub control which occurred in june with a regular lawn application. In addition, [redacted] had called Customer Service earlier in the year and asked that his back yard not be treated for that application. The customer service representative made the change to frononly for the entire season. Based on the sales process and customer service issue, the customer was refunded the money paid.We did resign [redacted] for a new program to starrt this year.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

After the first application within the program this company mentions, I did call them with concerns of applying their product on my back yard due to me being unsure if it was safe for my dogs. I spoke to a customer service person who endured it was safe as long as I keep the dog off back lawn for an hour after application. At this time I agreed to resume application of my entire yard, to include the back. Since this conversation, my back and side yard has not been treated. I have called several people who work for this company pleading to correct but no success. I even reconsidered two weeks ago and a person came out who told me, "I am the one who they send when soneone screws up." This person treated my front yard only and told me, "I put in a service order for the back" as he didn't have the proper supplies since the back yard was so bad. I have not heard from anyone since. This is the same type service they provided in the past and must be dealt with. I did receive a refund of $178.23 from Tru-Green and another $118.82 that my bank provided due to a fraud claim I submitted on my behalf. These two amounts I believe are ample recoupment on my behalf. I now only want this be a negative record with the Revdex.com and for Tru-Green to not contact me any further as I will consider it harassment.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: Onsite provider sprayed chemicals on 7 foot Pine tree and killed it with in days. Manager came out and agreed they were responsible and would replace the tree in the fall of 2012. Tree still not replaced.

Also the onsite techs have broken 4 landscape lights in my planted beds and one pvc pipe on my septic sandmound by wrapping their hose around them. I have replaced two lights at my expense and want them to pay for the other two. I have pictures of their techs wrapping their hose around the pvc and going through my planted beds. When I approached them about it, they said they didn't do either. So I waited and got pictures.Desired Settlement: Want the pvc pipe repaired, the two light fixtures replaced and the pine tree replaced with a 7 foot tree.

Response:

Contact has been made with **. [redacted]. TruGreen will be reimbursing **. [redacted] for the cost of the broken landscape lights, paying for an electrician to install the replacement landscape lights, and also contracting a landscape nursery to remove the dead pine tree and replace it with a 7 foot pine tree. This work is anticipated to take place in the next 30 days. Communication on this matter was made between TruGreen Service Manager [redacted] and **. [redacted] on 6/28/13. To my knowledge **. [redacted] will be satisfied with this course of action to resolve his complaint.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I have been contacted but no mention was made about the PVC pipe being replaced on my sand mound. Also, please notice in the original complaint, they have made promises before and didn't follow through for over a year. Also, there was no mention in the contact from [redacted] about being completed in 30 days. [redacted] did say they would restore my property to the way it was before their damages but did not mention the sand mound PVC.

If everything is repaired / replaced in the next 30 days, we will be fine. But for obvious reasons, I can' t just accept their word that it will be done. I've had one email and no other contact to this point and I responded to [redacted]'s email pointing out that the PVC was not addressed in his email.

Response:

I have spoken to **. [redacted] on 7/11/13 and informed him that I would type, sign and mail him a letter stating that we have accepted liability for the 7 foot pine tree, broken landscape lights, and broken PVC pipes on his property at [redacted]. I have agreed to purchase and have installed the 7 foot pine tree, reimburse for already purchesed landscape lights and pay his chosen electrician for installation of those landscape lights, as well as repair the damaged PVC pipes on the sandmound all before the end of July 2013. Special Instructions have been added to **. [redacted]s account that state to keep spray hoses out of mulch beds and not to drag them against any landscaping or trees while servicing his property to prevent future issues or damages. **. [redacted] has stated he will accept this letter, but will not resolve his standing complaint with the Better Business Burea until the agreed work is 100% completed.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

We did speak by phone as stated in their response. Their post here states they have replaced the pine tree but have not done so. I was told on the phone conversation that all work would be done by the end of July and waited as long as I could to respond to this posting in hopes of seeing SOME action on my property to fix all the issues. I said on the phone I would sign off on this site, but because nothing has happened in the last 10 days, I am reluctant to accept, on this site, their word that it will be done because of their lack of follow through in the past year. I can make one phone call and have a tree delivered and planted on my property with in 1 week from two of the local nurseries. I'm not sure why they haven't been able to do the same. If all work is done by July 31, I will sign off on this complaint but not until then. I try to trust people but they have proven in the past that their word holds not bond.

Regards,

Review: Earlier this year Trugreen performed a lawn service for me at [redacted] that I never asked for or authorized. Apparently it is in their business model to automatically renew services from year to year without gaining approval, and do not seem to require any sort of agreement or contract. After a little research online, it seems that several others have raised similar complaints about what I feel to be shady business practices. I was in town very infrequently at the time as I was selling that home, but as soon as I realized the treatment was provided I immediately called to cancel any future services and to make it known that I did NOT want the first application. Since then Trugreen has been calling me regularly for payment despite the fact that I continue to tell them I did not want the service and am not going to pay over $100 for something I never asked for or agreed to.

The sad part is I was very pleased with their service while I had it, and would have hired them at my new house had they not taken such a ridiculous approach to service renewalDesired Settlement: I would like this charge reversed and to not receive any subsequent calls or letters related to this issue

Business

Response:

[redacted] has been a customer since April 2010. Every year since 2010 his service agreement automatically renewed without any issues or concerns. All of our literature and collateral, including the initial signed service agreement, state that our agreements automatically renew on a year to year basis unless TruGreen is notified otherwise. We did automatically renew his 2013 service agreement and performed the first lawn service on 3/29/13 for $99.00 plus tax (total of $104.94). TruGreen calls every customer 24 hours in advance of a lawn service being performed. These are automated calls that provide our customers advance notice. We did not hear back from [redacted] prior to the service being performed so we performed the service as we had done the prior 3 years. TruGreen is customer service focused and will, without hesitation credit off the $104.94.

Complaint Detail

Please refer to Revdex.com complaint #[redacted] which was closed as completed last month. I would like to re-open this complaint as I am STILL receiving the same regular calls from Trugreen representatives who seem to be oblivious to the response that the Revdex.com received. As this issue has not actually been resolved by Trugreen as they promised, I would also like to comment on their response to my complaint. [redacted] has been a customer since April 2010. They are correct when they state that I have been renewing since I joined in 2010, however they neglect to mention that I actually spoke with someone at their company and ASKED for a certain service package for each year. When I didn't ask for a service renewal, common sense led me to believe that service had been discontinued.

Review: Last evening my husband and I were in our front yard when we were approached by a TruGreen rep who was canvassing our neighborhood. We were friendly but immediately indicated we were not interested in his services. The guy continued to be rude and tell us our yard was "unhealthy" for our kids and pets. And went on to say "So you don't care about your son?" This guy was a rude bully. This same company also visited my mother, who lives in the next town, last week and also had a rude encounter with a Trugreen rep. This is unacceptable.I've been in contact with my township and the police department and was told Trugreen very received a permit to solicit in my township. So the company ignores laws and is rude to the general public.Desired Settlement: I'd like to hear from the company that they will no longer solicit without permits. And hear what type of actions they will take to ensure their representatives are on their best behavior when visiting other people's property.

Business

Response:

It is not our practice to solicit without permits. We will definitely acquire permits when we are in [redacted] next time. Wherever we need permits we typically purchase them before we begin soliciting. As far as the way you were treated that is unacceptable. We do not teach our sales reps to talk that way to our customers. We will hold a meeting to address this type of insulting language. I will put oyu on our internal do not contact list also.

Regards,

Review: I paid for Trugreen service for the summer of 2011. I personally told the technician, his manager, and called the main Trugreen number that I was moving to Sweden and would not need their services anymore. In fact I even told them when I started that it would only be for 1 season. I am in the US Army and have since moved to Egypt. Trugreen has repeatedly telemarketed me despite my 20-25 requests to their 'customer service' to be taken off of their call list. Everytime they assure me that I have been taken off the list and will receive no more calls...yet within 2 weeks I get another automated call.

Being overseas this costs me money to take their useless calls....not only do I not have a lawn but the nearest grass is probably 1000 miles away....Desired Settlement: A phone call from someone who call actually solve this issue is requested, and NO MORE TELEMARKETING.

Review: I submitted an online request to TruGreen [redacted] in April 2012 to come out and aerate my lawn. TruGreen never came. On October 30, 2013, TruGreen came out and aerated my lawn. I called them and told them that I did not request them to aerate the lawn and that once, in April 2012, I had requested them to aerate and they never did it and I never heard from them. The billing representative claimed that I had an annual service contract from when I made the online request in April 2012 for the aeration and that I am responsible for the bill. I have no such knowledge of an annual service contract and no desire for it.

My lawn is in quite a state of disarray, which I guess is why I had hoped in spring of 2012 to work to get it in shape. With never getting the task done, I never progressed on the plans to get the lawn in better shape. At this time, my lawn is half dirt and weeds. I certainly do not need aeration of it!Desired Settlement: No payment for service.

Regards,

Review: I hired TruGreen on the premise they would treat, fertilize, and repair my front lawn. In the recorded phone call to TruGreen to set up services I inquired if a soil sample would be completed as I was already aware the ph level of my soil was not ideal for growing so it was important that whatever lawn care company I chose completed a soil sample to learn what needed to be done to my yard and not just treat it blindly. I was promised a soil sample would be completed. That has not been done to date and I started service in April. From April until now, TruGreen has treated my yard with their basic generic weed and feed and fertilizer treatments which either killed my grass further or made my soil compact and even more terrible for growing. Since service started, pine trees are dying and my grass looks worse than any previous year. I have attempted to address this and have a service member or manager come to my residence at a time convenient to me such as Saturday or evenings when I am home and to date have still not seen or met a TruGreen "Yard Specialist" or the branch manager.

Also, in my initial call to this company, I specifically asked that the TruGreen staff come out for their first appointment on a Saturday and I was assured they had service hours or could accomodate a Saturday service as I work weekdays and would not be available to meet with the service member on those days. I asked for this on the initial appointment so that I could make sure they were sure where I wanted service as I am not treating my side or back yards since I am going to be hardscaping next year. I was told they would accomodate this request and have yet to see a service member or manager. This is even more disheartening and frustrating as I received a phone call from a service member to sell additional products and found out TruGreen has been treating my back yard without my permission or authorization. This is a service I refuse to pay for as I did not sign off on it. I currently have a bill for a PH service that I refuse to pay as I feel I have overpayed thus far for the services I have received.

The final part of my complaint relates to aeration and overseeding. As I was aware I had poor growing conditions at my home, I requested TruGreen aerate and overseed my yard. The company stated they only do this at the end of summer but it would be completed. I have yet to receive this treatment of aeration and overseeding and I have requested it in phone calls on several occasions and in surveys to the company. I specifically requested that the service be completed prior to the ground freezing as any aeration and overseeding would be pointless after the ground freezes and starts to hibernate for the fall and winter. My yard still has not been aerated or overseeded and at this point the treatment would be pointless. I want it done anyway as it was promised in my contract, and I do not feel I should be paying for this.

The reason I do not feel that I should pay for any additional service to my lawn is that I have overpayed for the current service completed to date and TruGreen has killed my lawn, made the growing conditions worse, was unable to kill all the weeds on my lawn where they treated as promised and now is overdue in completing the most essential service for a lawn, aeration and overseeding before the ground freezes over.Desired Settlement: I would like TruGreen to finish the job as requested in initial phone call and I have requested the transcripts from my recorded phone calls with TruGreen to have written documentation of the "false" promises TruGreen gave me in that call. I would like TruGreen to aerate and overseed my yard and then end my contract. I would like TruGreen to waive any billing until aeration and overseeding is done as they have provided poor service that was not agreed to in the original contract. I would like the TruGreen branch manager to show his face on my property and actually show up as requested on a Saturday so I can review my lawn care service to date and walk my property and find out what excuses he has for why my property looks so poor after paying them hundreds of dollars to improve my property.

If any pictures would be needed as proof of the destruction TruGreen has done to my yard, I can provide them as I have photos of the portion of my yard TruGreen is treating that has deteriorated and pictures of a part of my yard that receives less sun, more shade, no treatment and looks greener, more lush, and more healthy than the part of my yard in which TruGreen treats.

Response:

Customer signed up for the Tru Complete lawn care program on 4/11/13 which included 5 applications of fertilizer, grub control if required, and aeration/seeding. TruGreen did 5 applications of fertilizer during the 2013 season. Customer was not happy with the results of the lawn care program. On 10/02/13, the Branch Manager and the Service Manager did an onsite inspection of the property. The customer was not present at the time. We found very challenging growing conditions on the property....hard compacted soil, areas of direct sun and dense shade, mature pine trees competing for ground moisture, and the slope of the property. The area that the customer says is not treated by TruGreen is part of our treatment plan and looks lush due to the moisture run off from the property/road way as well receiving the proper amount of both sun and shade during the day. Lawn care is a partnership between TruGreen and the customer. Proper agronomic practices (watering and mowing heights) must be adhered to by the customer to realize the maximum benefits from the TruGreen applications. TruGreen recommends watering a least 3 times a week during dry periods to keep the grass from being stressed due to heat and dry conditions. We did not meet this customers expectations and therefore will refund 100% of the lawn care amount paid in 2013 ($314.60). We also did a no charge aeration and seeding on 10/25/13 which should help to improve the soil/lawn conditions.

Review: About 12 - 15 months ago, I have procured Trugreen services after seeing their ads on websites and few other locations. The first service I have signed up was sometime in 2012 September for which I was promised a remainder of 3 months service. My credit card was charged and no one turned up to perform the work after repeated calls (in between they have informed that I am not their customer, they have system issues etc.,) one of their associates have visited and has fertilized my lawn. This was the only service I was provided.

I again called them and informed that I took the entire package for the rest of the year, I was informed that aeration and seeding is not inclusive in the price (Cheaters), and I spoke to guy by name [redacted] (I have the contact details) who spoke really good and forced me into another contract (I am fool) and the same story repeated and after repeated calls ([redacted] does not answer calls after this). In between I called the local office manager who was one of the arrogant people I have ever spoken with...mentioned that they have already performed the aeration and re-seeding and nothing is pending from there end. At this point I lost hope, and about a week later they come and do the aeration and re-seeding and left me a bill. I ignored this and I got calls that I owe to pay the money for the service provided. After all this, I discintinued their service and owed that I will never ever choose TRUGREEN. Again at the begining of this year, they have come and fertilized my lawn and left me a bill for the service provided. The same story repeats and I have ignored the bill and I get the calls. At this point I had a detailed conversation with one their REPS and have explained what happened, she noted that my service was infact dis-continued and was surprised to see why my lawn was fertilized, and has promised to revert. She did not revert again and I was not bothered with any further calls.

I was neither returned the money I have paid for the services not obtained.

Customer signed up for lawn care service on 9/20/12 which included 2 lawn fertilizations and an aeration and seeding to be completed by the end of 2012. Customer received the 1st fertilization on 9/30/13 (this was acknowledged in the complaint - "associates have visited and has fertilized my lawn"). We did the 2nd fertilization on 11/9/12. The aeration and seeding was completed on 11/12/13 (this was acknowledged in the complaint - "about a week later they come and do the aeration and re-seeding"). The lawn care services were pre paid by credit card and the customer received a 10% discount. No calls for payment were made as customer pre payed by credit card on 9/20/13 (fertilization) and 10/2/12 (aeration and seeding). Our service agreemnents renew automatically year to year. This customer was not cancelled in our system and we proceeded to do a fertilization on 4/16/13. When informed by the customer that they did not want TruGreen services in 2013 and had cancelled the account, we credited off the fertilization application. Per our records, the customer recieved lawn care per the Service Agreement dated 9/20/12. Customer acknowledged that we did provide the service. Since this customer was not happy with the overall service provided, TruGreen will process a courtesy refund for the aeration and seeding portion of the total amount paid. This represents well over 50% of the amount paid or $171.72.

I am rejecting this response because few comments made by the business in question are incorrect. I did receive at least 5 - 10 calls from the business asking me to pat for the services and was also threatned to be sent to the collection agency if I default the payment. I would request for FULL refund for the hassle that I gonr through this business. It was a pathetic experiance with TruGreen.

Review: In April 2013 I paid $522.78 for lawn care service provided by Trugreen. I had listened to their advertisment that they had experts that would customize a lawn serviced that would make and keep my lawn full and healthy all year. They also advertise that they would provide as many service calls as necessary to get the results that I wanted. The lawn has several burned out areas, bare spots, and minimal growth in several areas of the lawn. Pictures available. The technician who has come out several times has not offered any solutions to the problem or contacted anyone to discuss the situation or contact anyone for advice. In September I had 2 supervisors come to the house and they agreed that the lawn was in bad shape and would take steps to correct the problem. The only suggestion was to aerate and reseed the yard for which I had already signed up for and paid $245. Every time the tech was out to provide a service the message was to wait 2 weeks to see resulkts. The improvement to the yard never happened all season.Desired Settlement: Since I never got the yard that was advertised and the technician had been out several times and saw the condition of the yard, I am asking for a refund of my expenses.

Review: I contracted TruGreen last summer (2012) to care for my lawn which has grub and crabgrass issues. I was initially pleased with my service which I paid for in advance to receive their advertised 10% discount. My issues began in the fall when I contracted for aeration and seeding of my lawn for which, as I recall, I paid over 150 dollars. The service was scheduled for September, but TruGreen did not arrive to perform the service until, to my recollection, mid-November. Since TruGreen would often come to my home when I was not there, and I had received an additional service tag during that time, I had assumed that the service I requested had already been performed. I was not pleased with this service given that the first frost had already occurred and there was little chance the seed would germinate before the winter. I placed an angry phone call to TruGreen and told them I wanted to cancel service with the exception that they come out to aerate and seed my lawn again in the spring - performing the service when it would have some effect. The representative I spoke with confirmed that this would be scheduled for the Spring.

In March, I received a phone call from TruGreen saying they would be coming to service my property. I assumed that this was the aeration and seeding that I had agreed to (and already paid for) when I spoke to their call center. Upon returning home, I found a tag indicating that my lawn had been fertilized and treated pre-emergent crab grass killer. Not only was this not the service I agreed to, but this all but guaranteed that none of the seed left from the fall would germinate.

I called Trugreen and demanded an explanation. I was told that TruGreen has recently 'changed systems' and that some customer information was lost and that they were very sorry. (I've been told this a number of times in the last three months - it's shocking these guys can stay in business). I told them I was canceling service, that I never wanted to see one of their guys on my property again and that they should remove the charge for the improper and unauthorized service they performed on my lawn. Since then, I've received a great many phone calls asking to provide the balance due. I've explained my story to multiple managers in customer service and reached what I thought was an understanding.

However, I was informed today that my balance (~62 dollars) would be referred to collections in three weeks. They didn't seem to want to talk about the money I paid for aeration and seeding.

I'd like to be able to produce documentation on the dates, but I threw out my TruGreen records when I thought I was done with this mess in March.Desired Settlement: I would like for these guys to stop contacting me and remove me from their call lists. I'll never do business with them again and I'll be exploring my legal options if they continue.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: TruGreen serviced my lawn and it has died as a result of their service. They advertise a green lush lawn, mine is brown and dead. I have placed several calls to them and they never return calls. Their tech acknowledged that their service turned lawn brown in writing.Desired Settlement: I want my lawn to be re sodded or whatever is necessary to have a lush green lawn.

Response:

The branch service manager met with the owner and walked the property, it was not damage as a result of us burning the lawn. The dead areas of the lawn where as a result of crabgrass dying off as a result of our weed control efforts which appeared as thinning of the lawn. As a resolution to satisfy the complaint, we agreed to complete the 1st two applications next season at no charge. This should help bring the lawn back and satisfy the customer

Review: Last year I contracted Trugreen to treat 4 large Hemlock trees on the edge of my property. When they came, they sprayed the wrong trees. It took a lot of phone calls to receive a correction for the service and I cancelled my service from last year. I was very irate.

This year, Trugreen came again (without my knowledge) and treated the wrong trees again, now they are trying to bill me for a service I cancelled that they messed up a second year in a row. The corporate company will not get rid of my bill. There is no phone number for the local company.Desired Settlement: I want them to cancel my bill and stop bothering me.

Response:

The local TruGreen office in Harrisburg never received a cancellation notice for this account prior to servicing on 4/16/13. All of our contracts auto renew from year to year unless we are given notice. A service was scheduled and completed on 4/16/13. Based on the customer's comments this was a mistake and should not have been done. The local TruGreen office was never informed of this error until it received the Revdex.com complaint on 4/24/13. TruGreen customers are never charged if there is a dispute or mistake. This consumer will not be billed for the error and we will remove all erroneous charges and make sure the account is cancelled. TruGreen does have a local number but it goes to a regional customer service center. TruGreen's local address is [redacted].

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

The reason that this is the first time you heard about it is because you, your corporate office, and your salespeople do not communicate very well, which is why customers need and have gone to the Revdex.com 15 times couple years.

Regards,

Review: service was sold as lawn care , cutting and maintence. service was to be performed at [redacted] where the sales person walked around the house with my wife. they came out to 2118 murray ** and sprayed my home adress which was never part of any work to be done. the result is I have a 40% dead lawn. after 6 attmempts to contact a note was left in my door saying he saw all the brown area and to water daily. this was in the middle of rain every day . I called 3 more times about the problem and a mister [redacted] called back ans said he was going to send someone to seed and he would call me back in I week. first they never came. second they were going to put the seed on top of the dead grass without doing anything else. he never called back a week later and I have not heard from him since. it seems funny to me that there no phone # to reach them at, the only# they give is [redacted] which is costomer service in the middle of the country and they have to contact local locations to contact costomers. Customer never has a phone # to communicate with service providerDesired Settlement: to bare dead spots, airate, and seed to get lawn back to green . it should be done in fall not June 24 or after as anything done now will only burn. they seem to do more talk than anything else

The Service Manager, [redacted], has called and left a message for the homeowner. TruGreen will renovate the lawn in the Fall.

Review: In March they measured our lawn to be 18.999 square feet. We then discovered our size of our lot was 14,500 square feet. At this time we called the company for them to remeasure our lawn. Two representatives from Trugreen came back and measured our lawn at different times and they both measured it at 14,500 square feet. They billed us for the 18,999 square feet and did not give us any adjustment. We spoke to 10 or 11 different people from Trugreen at which time they all said that they would take care of the problem. We still got billed for the larger amount. Then we received a phone call on August 8th 2013 stating we still owed the larger amount. As of this date we still have not received an adjustment. We already paid for the first time they serviced our lawn using the wrong measurement.Desired Settlement: We would like an adjustment on our bill for the first and second application.

Response:

In review of this account the lawn was remeasured to 14,500 square feet after being sold at the 18,999 square feet price. The cost per application difference for these 2 property sizes is $18.99 per treatment. 2 Treatments were provided at the incorrect charge. [redacted] account has been credited $40.00 to correct the billing issue.
