Review: I hired Trugreen last year to fertilize my lawn and was not happy with their constantly trying to up-sell their service by phone. They would call and make it sound like the service they were trying to up-sell was included in the base price then at the end of the phone call they would tell me they were going to bill me extra. At the end of last season I told them I was not interested in continuing the service this year when they called to renew and wanted me to pay in advance.

My primary complaint involves their sales practices since then. I have received approximately 10 calls from their 800 number this spring ((###-###-####) and have told them every time that I am not interested in continuing their service and have asked every time to be taken off their call list. At this point the only reason I answer the phone is to tell them to take me off the list and they still try to make a sale so their sales people are obviously accustomed to responses like mine. Every time I am told that they will take me off the list and in some cases I have received a call back less than 24 hours later again trying to sell me their service contract.

Trugreen is a company with very unethical sales practices as far as I am concerned and I would like others to know before they have to put up with the same grief I have had to deal with the past few months.

Thanks,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like them to stop calling me and I would like it to be publicized that they have these sort of business practices so hopefully they will stop doing it to others.

Review: I did business with Trugreen for a brief period 2 years ago. Since stopping my business with them I have told them several times I do not wish to do business with them again and to please remove me from their calling lists. They still insist on calling from several different phone numbers, at times multiple times a day. And always multiple times a week. They have also repeatedly stopped by my residence harassing me to do business with them again. Even filing a complaint with the FCC over these calls has done no good and that can be verified by a simple Internet search on others complaints. They do not seem to understand what no means on any level and will not stop calling. And it has gotten to the point where I cannot stan their constant harassment any longer.

Review: On or around 4/14, we received an automated call from TruGreen telling us that service on our lawn was scheduled for the coming week. I immediately called the response number on the message and told the person that we wanted to cancel our service. They took the information.

On 4/25, I rented a slit seeder, purchased grass seed, and proceeded to seed our property.

On 5/7, TruGreen applied a pre-emergent control and fertilizer mix to our property. Pre-emergent prevents seeds from germinating. They did not call to tell us that the service was scheduled.

Within a few days, I called the Trugreen office and spoke to a service rep to explain the issue. That person said they can see a note about the cancellation dated 4/15 on my account, but that the account was not actually cancelled in their system. I explained the problem, and they me in touch with [redacted] the Service Manager. He said someone would come out to look at the property. Finally on 5/16 [redacted] called to come out on 5/17. He said he saw the marks from the seeder when speaking to my wife, and said they would send someone out to aerate and seed the lawn again. She asked that he call me. I have since left several messages for both [redacted] and [redacted], but they have not returned any calls, nor sent anyone to perform work. Since we are now out of the proper time for seeding, I am seeking payment for the expenses I have incurred.Desired Settlement: 622.25

Review: Over 10 years ago, when we had our shed installed, that gentleman told me that we should have our evergreen trees sprayed. So we contacted TruGreen to spray the line of evergreen trees next to our shed (along the property line). Every year since, we would pay them and they would come out and leave a note that they had sprayed. Last year, summer of 2013 I noticed that one of the evergreen trees was dying. I called several times, they finally sent someone out. I then had to call again and they said they would send someone back out to spray it. I happened to come home just as “[redacted]” was finishing up. [redacted] said that he sprayed the tree and that it may come back to life. He told me the Tree has BAG WORMS. I asked him why the tree had bag worms if it had been sprayed every year? He told me that he had been spraying at our home for years, BUT THAT HE NEVER SPRAYED THE EVERGREEN TREES!

When I finally got a chance to speak to [redacted], the manager, he told me that they were not responsible for a tree if it died. That a tree could die for various reasons and may not be related to their spraying of the tree. I explained to him that the reason it died was because they DID NOT SPRAY THE TREE. That I had been paying for years for them to spray the evergreen trees and that they failed to perform what they were contracted to do. He asked how I knew that they were not spraying the trees. He was very surprised when I told him that [redacted] said that he wasn’t spraying the evergreen trees. [redacted] said that he would have to speak to [redacted]. The next time I spoke to [redacted] he said that the evergreen trees were not in the agreement.

For years we were paying Trugreen to spray our evergreen trees. Then after one dies due to bagworms (that proper spraying would have prevented) they now say that they never sprayed them, but they were spraying the other trees.

They have refused to replace the dead tree, that they are responsible for.Desired Settlement: Now that spring is here the dead, bagworm infested tree needs to be removed at once, and then replaced

Upon review of the account, TruGreen found this customer has been paying

$50 per application. Our minimum price is $49 and at the time it was sold

it included the ornamental plant material around the foundation of the

home. The spruce tree in question is along the property line

and not around the foundation of the home. When **. [redacted] noticed the

spruce tree in distress he called us and we came out and sprayed the tree for

him at no charge even though it was not part of his plan. This is part of

our customer service and our attempt to satisfy the customer. [redacted]

explained that the cost to treat the entire property would have been more than

double the price **. [redacted] is paying. The spruce tree is 15+ ft tall and

would have definitely cost more than $50 to treat. [redacted] has been with

the company for 30+ years and would have sprayed the spruce trees if they were

part of the agreement. If **. [redacted] has anything that he could send me

showing these trees were part of the agreement I will gladly work with him to

get this resolved. TruGreen has looked through the account and researched all

notes and have not seen anything stating the spruce trees were part of the

agreement. We understand his frustration and would work with him regarding

treatments in the future to ensure all plant material is sprayed. TruGreen would offer some discounts to make these treatments more affordable due to the

miscommunication.

Review: I contacted this company to receive a pricing quote for services. While I was on the phone with the representative I told him that I believed the pricing was too high and was no longer interested in their service. The sales person continued to push and after I asked him not to follow up, that I would not be using their service he insulted me by asking to speak with my husband instead for a final decision! This is both sexist and discriminatory behavior. The following day I received two follow up calls even though I had asked the company not to contact me again. The day after I received a phone call from yet another crass representative named [redacted] who called my house at 8:15pm and after telling him to please not call and I had already asked others not to contact me, he too, was insulting and aggressive telling me to: "Listen! Listen! Listen!" to which I hung up the phone. This company's behavior is harassment. It is unethical and unfair to continue to call someone only to insult and be aggressive towards them when you do.Desired Settlement: I would like ZERO contact from them ever in the future and disciplinary action towards those individuals that called and harassed me. I found this company to be not only unprofessional but also sexist, discriminatory, overly aggressive, and personally insulting because of both the things that the employees said to me but also because of their blatant refusal to accept my requests for no more contact which is harassment. I would appreciate any updates for measures that were taken but only from Revdex.com as I would like this horrible company to stop contacting me indefinitely. Thank you.

Review: Trugreen fails to provide the contracted and prepaid service. They also repeatedly do not deliver promised services and ignore your calls.Desired Settlement: A call from the branch manager (only) and a promise to deliver the contracted services in a timely manner.

Review: I severed my relationship with TruGreen last year over a multitude of issues. I was very clear with them that I was terminating their service. They call me REPEATEDLY on my home line and on my cell phone to try to get me to reinstate my service, despite being asked repeatedly not to call. They claim, every single time, that they are unaware of my previous requests, and they will stop calling. I have made nine requests so far to take me off their call list, and they continue to harrass me with sales calls.Desired Settlement: Do not contact me at my home number or my cell phone.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. As long as they follow through with their promises.

Regards,

Review: The company called me in March about this years service at which time I told them I was dissatisified with last years service and that I was discontinuing service.

They proceeded to treat my lawn in April and then billed me. Now they are not answering the phone when I call.Desired Settlement: This company has (from conversations with friends) a history of treating lawns after they have been told not to. This company should be sanctioned.

Thanks [redacted]
