TSA Custom Car & Truck Reviews (1)

I bought a new Ford truck a few months ago and felt having a "durable" sprayed on lining applied to the truck bed would be a good idea for my investment. I contacted a local business called "TSA Custom Car and Truck" and made an appointment for 10-26-2015. I was also asked to leave a $100.00 security deposit, I guess to insure I'd show up on the designated day.? anyway on the appointment day I left the truck and they said it'd be ready that afternoon.. When I arrived to pick up the truck the job looked good they told me to let the bed cure for 24 hours and I said no problem as I had no plans of using it for a week or so. I paid the additional $396.55 totaling $496.55 for the job and went home. I took the truck to Portland OR in mid December and returned to NV with a new tool box packed in two cardboard boxes. When I unloaded them from my truck I noticed the sprayed on bed liner had come off in several spots. Needless to say I was upset. This type of chemical lining is also referred to as "RHINO" lining and is supposed to be a very tough protective coating. I took the truck back to TSA and had the two men I had dealt with the first time look at the issue. I showed them where the spray on liner had not even stuck to the original new paint as the original red bed paint was still in perfect condition. After conferring with each other a few minutes they said that they would be willing to spray over the bare spots for an additional $100.00. I was really taken aback as I felt they should stand behind their product and workmanship. I told them was not going to pay an additional $100.00 to spray over the spots with their lousy spray liner product and their customer care sucks. Product_Or_Service: 10-26-2015Desired SettlementI feel I'd like a refund of $250.00 as I'm stuck with a marginal bed liner on my new truck that comes off whenever I carry a moderately heavy item and them spraying more of the same stuff over the compromised spots isn't going to resolve the issue.Just a note: I own a 97 dodge pickup that I had a spray lining applied to the bed 12 years ago and have heavily used it tossing all sorts of heavy items in the back over the years and it has yet to peal up in any way as this spray lining has. Business Response The customer came in and said a cardboard box had gouged the surface of his truck bed. In spraying thousands of bed liners since 1999, I've learned that a cardboard box will not do that. There must have been something sharp protruding out of the box to cause the damage. A bed liner is not guaranteed against abuse. This was abuse caused by the customer. We cannot be held responsible for customer negligence We offered to respray the entire bed for 100.00 as a gesture of good will to fix the problem. His response was to leave and go to the local Ford store where he proceeded to cause trouble with their people, disparaging our reputation. He continued to be belligerent and was asked to leave the premises. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I do not accept their response as it is purposely deceiving and part a down right lie. First of all I did go to the Ford agency, as they are the folks that recommended I have the bed sprayed at TSA. I felt that they should know that the business they recommended did a marginal job and would not back their work. The Ford representative came out to my truck and observed the damage he thanked me and said he'd contact TSA to try to resolve the issue. This conversation with Ford occurred only minutes after my leaving TSA and the disappointing response I received form the TSA representatives. As for the last sentence in the response from TSA, It is a blatant lie. I was not told to leave from either the TSA grounds or the Ford lot. The ending conversation with TSA was that they would sand and respray the damaged spots (Not the whole bed as they claim). My response was that "They can keep it" (meaning the offer of respray at $100.)I got into my truck and left the premises. On my way home I thought about stopping at Ford and letting the showroom floor rep. know how the people he recommended handles come back issues. Again the Ford Dlr. was appreciative of the feedback and I doubt they will ever recommend TSA in the future.[redacted]
