On September 5, 2015 Mr. [redacted] brought his vehicle in for Recall 14350.  This recall is to put inserts in the key ring. As stated in the recall directly for GM. "If the key ring is carrying added weight and the vehicle goes off road or experiences some other jarring event, it may...

unintentionally move the key away from the "run" position".His car will stall with the car not in motion, the recall has no other repairs involved other than the key inserts.  His vehicle has been out of warranty for over 11 years.  If the recall was to repair a stalling condition we would be happy to repair it.  The recall does not cover his concern.  We gave Mr. [redacted] a key at no additional charge since his old key would come out of the ignition while it was running.  We offered to repair the stalling concern and explained there would be a fee involved to diagnose the issue.  Mr. [redacted] declined.  He brought vehicle to an independent repair facility and paid $500.00 to repair it.

ID [redacted] Mr. [redacted] was at T&T coast on 9/5/15 with notice of a recall 14350 for 14350D: Product Safety - Unintended Ignition Key Rotation.  This recall is specifically if the key ring is carrying added weight and the vehicle goes off road or experiences some other jarring event, it may unintentionally move the key away from the “run” position. If this occurs, engine power, power steering and power braking will be affected, increasing the risk of a crash. If the ignition switch is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury or fatality.   We performed this recall which is to install insert into the keys.  Nothing mechanically was performed on the vehicle.  Mr. [redacted] returned on 9/9/2015 with concerns with the vehicle stalling.  This had no connection with the previous repair for the recall.  We did notice the key would come out of the ignition with car still running due to the key was worn.  We provided Mr. [redacted] with a new key at no cost.  Mr. [redacted] demonstrated to me the vehicle stalling while in park.  Again, this concern has nothing to do with the recall performed.  I offered to diagnose the concern of the stalling and he declined because of the $ 129.00 fee.  I did contact [redacted] garage where Mr. [redacted] previously had work performed on the vehicle and they confirmed they also provided him with a list of work needed and I was informed he declined that as well.   Sincerely, Rich K Service Director T & T Coast Buick GMC

Review: I visited this location on 6/23/15 to look at a 2013 [redacted] advertised on [redacted]. I met with Leigh P[redacted], a sales agent, and she took me on a test drive in the mentioned vehicle. We than sat at her desk to discuss price. She took my keys and had an associate evaluate my car. In about 30 minutes, she sits down with us and gave us a price of $42,382 and a trade-in value for my car of $6800. At that point, I told her that I would think about it and get back to her.

On 6/24/15, today, I called Leigh about 5:00pm and told her I wanted to buy the car for the agreed upon price and trade in value. She called me back and put her sales manager on the phone, a Pete B[redacted], who proceeded to tell me that his used car manager had thought he heard a tapping sound in the engine. I told Pete that nothing had changed from yesterday and that the car was in the same condition as it was when evaluated. He told me he would get back to me.

Leigh called in about 30 minutes and said that the owner of the dealership, Tom F[redacted] had withdrawn the offer and that the agreed upon price and delivery scheduled for 6/25/15 was off the table AFTER I had accepted their price and trade in value.

I believe this is a true Bait and Switch technique and that is the reason I am filing this complaint with an additional complaint to go to the Attorney General's office.Desired Settlement: I would like T & T Coast to live up to their offer and deliver the mentioned vehicle for the agreed upon price and trade in.

Review: My car has a recall due to an ignition prob...There is a safety issue that the car could turn off...It has been constantly stalling...All they did was give me a new key...They said that would solve the prob...As soon as I drove out of the place into traffic it stalled...The told me they ran a diagnostic,,,,Which they did not do...Now want to charge me to do one...I had to go to an independent repair shop...And have put out over $500.oo ...Car still stalling T&T...claimes they are not responsible...The service manager Rich...has been ignoring me ...I contacted Gm...two weeks ago ..They said he would be in touch ...When he got back to me a week late...He talked to me in a most insulting way....Refuses to help ...I must repeat there was a safety issue. They are trying to bury the fact that there...was ignition probs,,,Due to faulty key cylinders..He has out and out lied to me twice...I must repeat GM contacted me by notice telling me to bring the car in..Desired Settlement: My car should be safe no stalling...They should reimburse me my out of pocket expenses...That I would not have had to put out,,,,If they would have done the work in the first place
