Tucson Federal Credit Union held a substantial sum in our Savings Account with them and paid negligible interest during the three years we left it with them Then, because we didn't add to the amount, they began charging us a "dormant fee" of 5.00/ month they also charge members a "paper fee" for sending a statement to you When questioned about the dormant fee, the representative said that "all credit unions do this"--a patently statement All credit unions may LEGALLY do this but, as our other credit union exemplifies, not all of them take advantage of this legality We have closed our account and transferred the money to a credit union which does not nickel and dime it's customers
I've worked with a credit union before and if your moving here from out of state, do not go to this credit union! They hold any checks you cash for more than a week and charge your $to open/have a savings accountIf you want to back out of this account, you still have to pay the dollars if its less than monthsThis is my money, I should do what I want with it! I've never worked with this kind of system, terrible credit union!!!
