In February I took home a car I was purchasing from Max at Tuff Cars. Soon after I realized that I had purchased a car that had sat and not been properly cared for. The instrument panel flickered and went dark not registered mph fuel or any instruments at all. Max removed the panel and I drove for 4 days with no instruments at all. He had it repaired and I reinstalled it when he called to tell me it was finished. the battery went dead the first night I drove the car. I soon realized the car hadn't been registered for 4 years. I was told by Discount tires, that the tires on the car were ten years old, cracked, and so deteriorated I should not be driving on them. The fan continued to run when the car was shut off, so I had to open the hood when turning the car off in order to not drain the battery and re- connect the fan when using the car in order for it not to overheat. I went through these steps for the first six months I drove the car. Max knew of these issues and offered no remedy. The rubber around the windshield is rotted away

Review: Never shop here for cars you will regret it! First, he had two different advertisments for the prices. Even after showing him, he denied putting one up for $5,995, when my advertisment was for $5,495. We agreed on a purchase price of $6,000 with tax and fees included. The Buyer's Guide was never displayed in front and/or the back, so it's properly visible for the consumer to see while discussing the vehicle. He had assured me that he had the engine rebuilt and its a good, reliable car. Unfortunately, that was not true. Approximately 22 hours after the purchase, I had a trusted local mechanic inspect the vehicle, he then informed me that I needed to return this vehicle and demand a refund. My mechanic confirmed that the tires are in bad shape and needs to be replaced, the vehicle has an engine valve leak, shocks needs to be replaced right away, and an alignment is needed possibly to correct the shaking of the steering wheel. I called Tuff Cars back where the call went straight to voicemail. Shortly after, I made another call, and someone responded. I told him the problems, he said he wasn't in the office, and to see him Monday. I go first thing Monday with the federal and local law showing where he failed as a businessman. He dismissed it in an arrogant way and said he's not fixing anything. According to the FTC, the used car rule if the Buyers Guide isn't displayed or filled out correctly the sale is void. Also stated that option of return the car is $500 which once again is not true. It's $150 for the price of the car and up to $350 for restocking fee. Which upon further research is deducted from the payment for the vehicle, he was asking for more cash up front. All in all, the car was misrepresented when he sold it. Federal law and local laws were broken and I'll not stand for it. This is a family car with my young daughter, and sales it with problems, and then lies about having engine work done when confronted about it. Just plain bad business with no moral character.Desired Settlement: I filed complaints with serval local and federal agencies. The next step is to file a civil suit and possibly criminal charges.
