Tulsa Welding School Reviews (1)

Mr. [redacted]l enrolled in Tulsa Welding School on May 28,
2014. The RT program’s duration is 7 months if the student attends the day
shift and for the EMT program, the duration is 9 months if the student attends
the day shift. Although, Mr. [redacted]l states he signed up for our...

RT
(Refrigeration Technologies) program, he in fact enrolled in our EMT
(Electro-Mechanical Technologies) program and as opposed to attending the day
shift, Mr. [redacted]l enrolled in evening courses instead.  Please see the
attached Enrollment Agreement that was signed by Mr. [redacted]l. Attending in the
evening elongates the number of months needed to complete the program since the
student attends only 16 hours a week in the evening versus 25 hours a week
during the day shift.
On October 15, 2014 Mr. [redacted]l agreed to arrive at school
early to meet with school officials to attempt to discuss and resolve his
concerns. In attendance at this meeting was the Campus President, Academic
Dean, Director of Financial Aid, Director of the Business Office and Student
Services, and the VP of Financial Aid and Compliance. Mr. [redacted]l was provided
with a copy of his enrollment agreement wherein it was shown to the student he
enrolled in the EMT program vs. the RT program and chose the evening shift,
resulting in being in school longer than 9 months.
During this meeting, Mr. [redacted]l shared with the members of
the campus leadership team that he was having struggles in the class he was
currently in, and when finding out the course was not a part of the shorter
program, he wanted to transfer. Upon the student sharing that information, the
Academic Dean then asked the student what were the specific challenges he was
having in the course. Mr. [redacted]l shared that his challenges were in the
mathematics and calculations portion of the program. The leadership team
encouraged Mr. [redacted]l to continue the course, since once he completed the
course all of the remaining courses he had to take were in the shorter program
he would transfer into. The Academic Dean then offered to meet with his
instructor to ensure the student would receive additional tutoring and
assistance to ensure his success in the course.
Mr. [redacted]l agreed to continue in the program that he
enrolled in and accepted the additional tutoring and assistance offered to him.
He has continued to attend his classes and is striving to complete the course
successfully.
