After you find out you can not login to your account web sites that are not trying to commit fraud against you allow you or have a way to change your email or passcode as long as you have proper identification, however tumblr refuses every single way! Keeping your information on there servers for everyone including themselves to see! Because of them I have had to not only change my phone number but I have had to move changing my address because of there lack of privacyThey also when informed it is a DMCA issue since it is legally a name used and copy written by someone there first words are SO? They also have no common curtsy towards anyone with customer service, it is better you talk to a brick wall than them, they also can not perfectly read what you write no matter how legal it is there words will always be so? They have no regards to who you are, it is hooray for them and you are dirt, this company needs to be reviewed again by Revdex.com and be fined for there practices, when a DMCA notice goes up about someones name and property they legally have hours to take the site down no if and's or buts not sit there and demand more information

This business is completely out of there minds, not only do they hijack your information, address, picture, phone numberThey keep it in a database and when you can not access your email anymore they laugh in your face with no way to change your information, even with forms of ID their response to you is oh wellI served them a DMCA notice since all my accounts are protected by *** and there response was show us proof when they could contact *** themselves, instead of calling me by my name they called me by my email, talk about rude and crudeThen again I was asked what did I expect from a tiny little company owned by ***, how about more style more class more manners and following the letter of the lawI am all over the internet and life and if I can get treated like a piece of trash by this company, you will too! They also allow Adult Material to be shown on there servers, and there only response to parents is to use there filter which can be changed by any person at any timeBe extremely careful when even talking to them, I would suggest to stay as far away from Tumblr as possible for your own safety and your families!

[Your Answer Here]
They claimed: "The user was notified of the action taken against their account on June  **, 2015."I rebut: I was not notified on June [redacted] Had I received that notice, I would not have had to write four more letters to get a response, nor would I have involved the Revdex.com in this. Tumblr only sent me that message today after they read my complaint here. And their reasons for termination are full of false allegations, which they will not allow me to respond to. I can accept the termination, but the allegations are slanderous. They claim: "We have also responded to the user's email regarding their account to provide the ticket number of the original termination notice." I rebut: Sadly, the ticket numbers they sent me, they know full well are not available for me to review due to the termination. And the claims that they had sent me warnings a year ago - they were also sent without the ability for me to see the supposed offenses and fix them or make amends. I am not sure if there is anything else to accomplish here, other than to leave this as a record of their practices. But I feel like they have put up a smokescreen to the truth, which I fear may never really be revealed. So, I felt compelled to, at the very least, object their allegations.  Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately, as we explained to this user in previous correspondences, we can't give out login information, nor can we change it since that would violate our policies on account security. As a user has control of their own account, we leave it up to them to keep their login information up to date....

Since there is nothing further we can do, we've been unable to respond differently to the user's emails about the same issue.

Review: I have a tumblr account. Two days ago, I received an email from them stating that I had recently changed my email from b[redacted] to [redacted]. It stated that if this was not done by me to let them know immediately. I did that. I received an email back stating that they had fixed the problem, as follows (see the two emails sent from someone name, [redacted], in support):

##- Please type your [redacted]ly above this line -##

Hello,

In order to help, we need to know what IP address your network is using. If you don’t know it, just Google “What is my IP?” Once you’ve done that, please send us the public IP address listed there.

From one Internet-er to another, please be aware that the chances of someone accessing your account increase greatly if you [redacted]eat passwords on sites - if they have one, they have them all! :( This is a big reason for account insecurity, so I just wanted to let you know!

We're working on securing your account, so let us know when you know your IP address.

Thanks!

Tumblr Support

Hello,

Ok nevermind, had a second look and there's no IP needed :) Your account's good to go!

We’ve detected that your account may have been accessed by someone other than you. If any spam posts have been made to your blog, please delete them. You can delete a post from your Dashboard using the Delete link in the upper right corner of the post.

After compromising an account's security, phishers will often create a bunch of secondary blogs to spam other users. If your account now contains any additional blogs created by someone else, you can delete those blogs at http://www.tumblr.com/account/manage.

To ensure your account’s security, we're going to ask you to set a new password the next time you log in. Because someone may now know your current password, it’s important to choose an entirely different one.

The mobile posting email address for your blog has also been reset to prevent anyone but you from posting to your blog via email.

If your blog is displaying a fake Tumblr login page, fake age verification, or anything other than your normal theme, please select and save a new theme here:

http://tumblr.com/customize

To make sure your Tumblr account stays safe, never enter your Tumblr account info on any site other than www.tumblr.com and always look for the green ‘Tumblr, Inc.’ emblem in your browser, as shown here:

We take your account’s security very seriously.

Thanks,

Tumblr Support

They never fixed my problem. I never got a chance to engage in a conversation with someone. I just got these two emails and have been ignored ever since. I cannot get into my account at all. My email and or my password no longer works and there is no place to change your password. They just have those stupid "captcha" boxes. I didn't even forget my password, it's that whenever my account got hacked, it appears that my password was hacked too. I've sent multiple emails back to support asking for further help and they are ignoring me. It's also very bad business not to have a contact phone number because obviously, a person just gets ignored through emails; very unprofessional.Desired Settlement: I want someone to respond to me, the emails that I sent to support and fix my account. And to acknowledge their poor customer service, by ignoring requests, once they thought they had fixed the problem.

Response:

Hello [redacted],

Review: Hello,

My issue is simple. I have an account on Tumblr where I have posted a portion of my copyrighted work. Another Tumblr user reblogged my post (which is perfectly fine), but there is a technical issue whereby the reblogged post does not connect to my original post, which means that I am not receiving credit for my work.

I have been in contact with Tumblr for several months and am at an impass with their customer service team. At this point, I would just like the reblog of my original post to be deleted because I am not receiving credit for my original post.

I appreciate whatever assistance you are able to offer. Tumblr does not seem to care about my copyrighted work and I do not want anyone to claim ownership over my work.

Best,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would just like the reblog of my original post to be deleted.

Review: Tumblr has continuously failed to provide adequate customer service. Every time my acquaintances and I contact them for help regarding harassment, stalking or even an issue they have with their own service I get an automated response generated just to placate me. In my two+ years of using the service I have never once had a resolution to my problems. Recently I received the same email my significant other did informing me that I was locked out of my account due to "URL hoarding". None of the blogs I own currently are "hoarded". However my significant other has a different problem, he no longer has access to an account that he deleted willingly and the URLs attached to that account remained in use. Tumblr has locked his new account and refuses to give him access.Desired Settlement: I want both our blogs to have our access returned and for Tumblr to stop using automated responses to serious problems.

Business

Response:

None of the responses the complainant received were automated. All emails were read and responded to by a real human being. In one case, we did see evidence where the complainant received the same response twice (from two different people) which may have led them to believe an auto-response was in place. This wasn't the case, but we apologize that our replies made it seem that way.

Tumblr's Community Guidelines specifically state: "Don't squat, hoard, collect, trade, or sell Tumblr URLs." If we find an account to be hoarding URLs, we temporarily terminate the Primary blog on the account and notify the user. Once the user releases those hoarded URLs, we restore their account, as we did for the complainant on July *, 2013. As for the significant other's account, we don't have enough information to confirm whether or not the account is up or down, but we would encourage that person to contact us at [redacted] so we could resolve the matter with them.

With regards to the harassment issues, we have reviewed all evidence reported to us by the complainant and acted in accordance with our policies and procedures. The only thing further we would add is that in harassment cases, it's best if we hear from the person(s) involved, as opposed to a third-party, so we can work with that person directly on what actions they can take.

Thank you,

Review: Tumblr allows extremely inappropriate content on their site. I realize that there is freedom of speech. However, I don't think freedom of speech includes the right to bully someone on line. This is a huge problem in our society and too many young people are committing suicide because of it. My granddaughter is being bullied (with extremely foul language) on the Tumblr site. I have attempted to contact Tumblr, but their customer service line goes directly to voice mail every time I call and no one ever returns my callsDesired Settlement: Tumblr needs: 1) to monitor what is on their site and not allow people to bully on the site 2) Actually provide some customer service and return phone calls.

Hello,

Tumblr only offers support via email, which is why [redacted] would have had trouble reaching us via phone. If she would like to contact us at [redacted], we'd be happy to look into the situation with her granddaughter and see what can be done in accordance with our policies and guidelines.

Again, the support email address is: [redacted]

Review: Tumblr is a creative platform, which was recently bought out by [redacted]. They encourage creative writers like me to make blogs and post daily content there and the company happily dumps tons of ad content onto the blogs to make their money. They depend on the creatives for content, because they create none of it themselves

I have been a blogger there for over 3 years, and I have written tons of original content on a main blog ([redacted]) and two side blogs, which were secondary to the main blog. Last week, with no warning whatsoever, Tumblr terminated my entire account, and now they refuse to tell me why. I had 37,241 readers on my main blog and another 27,000 plus on two side blogs, all of whom visited on a near daily basis to see Tumblr's ad content. That means I brought them customers and I made them money.

On the Termination page, Tumblr says "To find out why (you were terminated), contact support. I have contacted support to date, five times in seven days. They refuse to reply. I received one automatic message on Thursday, June [redacted], that told me they had indeed received at least one of my request emails, and in it they promised to get back to me about the issue.

In the end, the only thing I really want is access to recover some of my more intricate original writing content for my own files, which should be easy enough to arrange, if they would simply reply to me. But so far, they refuse to acknowledge the communication that I know they have received from me. It has become very clear that they have no intention of ever replying to me. Hence the reason for this formal complaint and the request for your kind assistance in this matter..

is this business practiced in good faith with the providers of creative content, to steal and/or destroy said original content (which fuels their ad business) without prior warning or explanation afterward? And without the decency of simple communication? Absolutely not.

I want them to communicate with me and work something out so that I may recover some of my work. They owe me that much.

I can understand and accept if they have decided to change the kind of content they wish to house in the future, but to deny me access to the content that I created for them, and that they happily used to make money for the last three years is deplorable at best. It is piracy at worst. Theirs is a horrific new practice and something that never happened before [redacted]. bought Tumblr.Desired Settlement: To open communication with this business in order to arrange private access to my former blogs to retrieve the original content for my personal files, content that I own. I have attempted to make this happen repeatedly and they have ignored every request thus far. Thank you for your help/

The complainant's blog was reported for content which violated Tumblr's Community Guidelines, which must be agreed to when creating an account. After reviewing the account, we terminated it in accordance with our policies. The user was notified of the action taken against their account on June **, 2015. We have also responded to the user's email regarding their account to provide the ticket number of the original termination notice.Thank you, Tumblr Trust & Safety

Review: On March [redacted], I realized that I could not log in to my tumblr account named etniok. It was asking for a confirmation code from a phone number that I no longer am in possession of. I contacted tumblr customer service at [redacted]. I was told to take a picture of myself holding a message. This picture would be compared to my avatar photo, and if they matched I would be given access to the account. I did as requested on March [redacted]. Thus far I have received no response.
