Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
I just read Tuner Ready's response and I disagree mostly with the ending statement. He stated that there was nothing wrong with my battery and that the problem was electrical. If that was true, then I would not be driving my car today.
I later discovered that the reason my car wouldn't start is cause I accidentally left my engine fan running over night which of course completley drained my battery. I have to manually turn my fan off via a switch that I accidentally hit with my leg while getting out.
In my original complaint, I mentioned that the second shop I took it to had my car running the same day I brought it. All it needed was a battery. Maybe even for my original battery to just be charged. My car sat at Tuner Ready for an entire month (literally)
So it is obvious that all of what he is saying my car needed in order for my car to start is false. I was charged well over one hundred dollars for what costed me less than a hundred to fix and my car left Tuner Ready in the same condition it arrived in. Also, keep in consideration that I wasted money towing my car to Tuner Ready and towing it again from there. I don't really remember the cam shaft conversation but by now I'm actually considering letting it all go
If you would like to contact me, my number is *** *** ***
Thank you

[redacted] had his car towed to the street in front of Tuner Ready.  When I arrived to open up, we had to push the car off the street on to the property.  He then explained that he had just bought the vehicle (1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Base Model) a...

week prior and it had just stopped starting all of a sudden.  Customer explained he didn’t have a lot of money and just needed to get it running.  I let Mr. [redacted] know we were real busy at that time and I would get to it as soon as I could.  Mr. [redacted] said OK.  Customer called the following week and I let him know we were still on other jobs and I would get to it soon, customer again said OK.

That week we ran compression test, spark test, inspected fuses / relays at no cost to the customer.  I let the customer know we found the camshaft position sensor was not the correct one for the vehicle.  I informed the customer that we could not diagnose the car with the wrong parts installed and it would have to be replaced for further diagnostics.  Customer stated he wanted it to run and asked if he could get the part himself.  I informed the customer we sell our parts 5% below retail so he would not be able to get it any cheaper.  Customer agreed to the repair.  Customer paid $29.89 for the Camshaft Position Sensor and ½ hour labor of $37.50 to replace it.  Customer was not charged for new pigtail and wiring for the Cam Sensor.  This was the only repair done and it was approved by the customer.

After further diagnostics at no expense to Mr. [redacted], we found the car had no mechanical faults.  The car was getting fuel and it was getting spark.  At this point I advised Mr. [redacted] he had electrical issue and we could no longer do diagnostics for free.  Advised electrical diagnostics is $90 an hour.  Diagnostics determined that the ECM was bad.  We were able to get the car to start by tapping on the ECM while cranking the car over.  Chrysler ECM from that time period were notorious for going bad.  It is a common documented issue.  Yes, Chrysler ECM’s were used in the Mitsubishi Eclipse.  We tried several times to get an ECM for the vehicle through our vendors.  We ran into several issues thinking the vendor was sending the wrong ECM.  We found that the customer had a 1997 OBD2 vehicle / engine with a 1995 OBD1 ECM and OBD1 Wiring Harness which is not the correct parts for the vehicle.  I advised the customer of this issue and tried to find a 1995 ECM.  Mr. [redacted] picked up the vehicle before we could find an ECM. Customer paid for the approved repair and the electrical diagnostics and voiced no concerns.  I let him know I would keep looking for an ECM.  My vendor did find an ECM the following week for $300 and I let the customer know.  That was the last contact til this complaint.

The batter had no issues while here and did not need to be replaced.  We stand by our diagnoses of bad ECM.  The ECM may be working temporarily from tapping on it but it will fail again.  Mr. [redacted] sought no recourse through us after the repair nor did he voice any concerns during or after picking his vehicle up.  We are happy to address any concerns he may have.
