Review: In December of 2012 we signed a contract with [redacted] of Turano Design to do a kitchen renovation. Over the course of 6 months he never set a date after many attempts to get the project moving. He constantly changed the drawings that we originally gave him by our architect and also stated that the custom cabinets that we were getting from him would actually be an additional charge than originally agreed because he realized that they didn't have the design we chose. Eventually as winter changed to spring and eventually summer without a start date or finalizing the drawings or cabinets with him we decided to end our contract with him. We gave him an initial deposit of $20,000 that we requested be returned since no work had started in over six months of working with him. He originally agreed but then changed his mind when we told him it would require payment with interest because he wanted to pay us back over the course of a year because he stated that he didn't have the money to give back. He never started anything involving our job outside of submitting planning permission, of which we paid the fee once it was approved. Therefore, I am not sure why he didn't have our deposit and how he planned to start our job without the money we gave him to do so. This could explain why he never wanted to set a start date with us. We are therefore reaching out to you for assistance with the matter and would like this to be placed on file so that others don't fall prey to the same abuse.Desired Settlement: We are requesting a refund of $20,000 to be paid by certified check or cash with receipt.
