Crew made a mistake and cut the vent pipe offIt is a special unit with a PVC vent pipeThought it was a plumbing vent, most HVAC vents are metal pipeThey put wrong type cap/elbow back on itOur production manager was not aware that this had happenedSome time later, customer got in touch with
the production manager, and upon inspection he realized what had happenedHe contacted a licensed HVAC coto come out and get the correct vent/cap installedIt's shorter and the customer did not like itThe HVAC cosaid, the only way to fix that, is to splice it underneath the deckThere is no attic access in this area, a section of the roof would have to be removedThe HVAC cosaid it was too far into winter to attempt this at that time, the cap was working properly, and the permrepairs would have to wait until springThe HVAC cowould not work on the roof with ice/snow on itThe vent was NOT left in a condition that could cause carbon monoxide poisoningThe customer was aware of thisVery little roofing is done in MN in the winterOur employees take vacations & breaksThe tenant next door to our office picks up our mail, and is in contact with usCustomer came by and was knocking on the doorShe spoke with himHe told her that we did not keep people here all the time because not much roofing done in winter, that he picked up our mail, and was in contact with usShe knew why we weren’t thereShe could have called the number on her warranty certificate, and that would have rang at my deskI have no calls from herWe should be starting back around 4/1/18, and I have asked that this be placed at the top of the list with high priorityOn the siding issue, we did not have hardly any siding crews to complete of the siding work on insurance claimsWe only invoiced the insurance company and collected money for the roofing portion of the claim that we completedShe still has all of the siding money that the insurance company has paid out

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I responded to the original complaint with information that was given to me. Obviously, it was not entirely correct. I apologize to Mrs. [redacted]. We have always had full intentions of replacing the furnace cap correctly, and should have done it sooner. We have scheduled our crews and the HVAC co. for 4/11/18, and we have contacted the customer, and she agrees with this. We are going to look into the siding repairs when we come out on 4/11/18. I want to be clear that we have not collected any money for any of the trades except for the roofing portion. In the future, Mrs. [redacted] can always contact the number on her warranty certificate, and it goes straight to my desk. RRSA apologizes for this situation and plan on getting it corrected ASAP.
