TurfMasters took *** *** on as a lawn care client on 4/28/16. We initially rated the lawn a "5" overall on a scale of to - not very good. We performed applications of various slow release fertilizers, pre-emergent crabgrass controls, broad leaf weed controls, surface
insect controls, and a grub control. These services were performed on 5/2, 6/17, and 8/2. On the 8/service, we recommended aeration & overseeding with our Mid-Season Evaluation as the lawn had become thinner and patchy due to the historic drought we were going through. Suffield still remains in a severe drought advisory as does approximately 70% of the state. We also noted the lawn was very stressed out due to lack of any sort of moisture. Our 8/fertilizer was a slow release, "non-burning" blend that helps the lawn recover when some moisture comes. *** *** called our office in late August stating he was very unhappy with our service and that we burned his lawn. Upon that complaint, one of our Service Managers met *** *** at his property on 8/30. It was very obvious the lawn had not been watered as soil samples indicated an extremely dry, dusty soil. We asked if he had watered and he stated "a little". When we showed him the evidence to the contrary (the extremely dry soil samples), *** *** became very irate and said "we suck" and to get off of his lawn. *** *** was the aggressor here ending the conversation with a deplorable expletive - beginning with f and ending with you! *** *** was totally unreasonable and very combative choosing to ignore the facts regarding the drought and excessive summer heat as they were being explained to him. The lack of civility on *** ***'s part is appalling Some basic turf grass agronomy recognizes that in periods of prolonged drought conditions like we experienced this season, can cause turf grass permanent injury (death). Cool season grasses, like we have here in Connecticut, need adequate moisture to survive the summer and recover naturally in the fall. Without this, which occurred on *** ***'s lawn, grass can reach its permanent wilting point. This causes lawns to die. We cannot water for *** *** nor make it rain. Having said all that, we still offered *** *** an opportunity to get his lawn renovated at a reduced cost. As a lawn care business, when we are dealing with living, breathing organisms (like turf grass), we can only control certain things - Mother Nature and homeowner cooperation (proper mowing & watering) are not among them. It has been extremely difficult to deal with clients like *** *** when they totally disregard weather conditions and are not willing to do their part. The results we can deliver are largely impacted by what Mother Natures gives us to work with and the homeowners cooperation. We only control one third of the result. The other two thirds are out of our handsObviously, we greatly prefer a season that gets ample rainfall and cooler temperatures In summary, *** ***'s account was cancelled in early September and we refunded him $for services not preformed as he was a prepaid client

I think is the employees not the company itself the owner needs to hire people with skills and teach them how to act on their phones they like to lied and steal from people I just hade a situation in which the front desk clerk Theresa was rude and nasty towards me when she called for a payment that was due that I didn't even new about because I never authorize them to start working on my property. Is ridiculous how you try to explain to them and they start acting crazy over the phone I decided to go in person there was Theresa rude and I ask to speak to a manager she brought me a service manager who was rude and nasty just like Theresa there was no help how so ever is not the point of paying is the lies they make up they never gave me service because my house is fenced up so I ask the nasty service manager how they enter if is fenced up o they open it up I just told him how they enter if I have dogs in my yard so he got more nastier I need the owners or who ever is the upper manager of this place to look into their employees they don't know how to act this is the services you provide to your customers

Review: After 5 years I had decided I did not want to use them and consequently tossed all their letters regarding this year. Turfmasters showed up and serviced my lawn any way and is trying to force me to pay for the service since I did not tell them I did not want the service anymore. They assumed I was renewing based on a call in december in which they said they were sending out the schedule for next years service. That schedule went in the trash since I was not going to use them. I did not tell them I was renewing and I refuse to pay for the service. I have spoken to them 3 times and they continue to send me the bill.Desired Settlement: I just don't want to pay for something I did not authorize.

Review: I've used Turf Masters for my lawn care for a couple of years. My standard contract all these years included regular 4 applications, no tick control. In April 2014, without my knowledge, Turf Masters applied tick control on my lawn. I did not receive a phone call from them, or was otherwise alerted of this additional service. I never asked for tick control, and didn't know they were coming. Several weeks later I received a bill for $179.73. I have since called Turf Masters 4 times, asking to remove this charge. My last phone call, yesterday, resulted in the service rep yelling at me and threatening to send the bill to collections.1) I have never been yelled at by a service provider.2) Turf Masters MUST resolve this claim by sending me a written statement supporting them removing this charge, along with an apology.Naturally, I have since canceled my contract with Turf Masters and will never use them again.By the way, two weeks ago, while playing with my son on the lawn, I got bitten by a tick. I did not discover the tick until the next morning while in the shower. I don't know what tick control they said they applied, but either it doesn't work, or they didn't apply anything at all. But that's besides the point - The charge must get removed and Turf Masters educated on proper customer service etiquette.Desired Settlement: See above.
