of every month). Our employee on site was simply following procedure as outlined by Oregon Lien laws and our company policy. He was correct that nonpayment creates a land lords lien according to Oregon Self Storage Law. The lien is relieved by payment in full of charges owed.   Regarding our methods of payment we take payment by credit card, cash or check in person or by mail and we do have a system that will automatically bill a valid credit card monthly and on the due date. If payment is sent via USPS we post the transaction on the day it was received in our office. Our customers sign a contract when renting from us acknowledging acceptable methods of payment and just because this customer would prefer that we had an additional method available he was made aware of our payment policies via the contract he signed when he rented the unit.   There are late charges spoken to in our rental agreement and they are 10% ($13.50 in this instance) of the monthly rent. That being said I allow my managers to waive one late fee at their discretion and this customer has taken advantage of that and has had one fee waived. Beyond that the manager, by company policy is not allowed to waive another late fee.   This customer can avoid late charges and lock outs by simply paying or having his payment arrive in a timely manner, that is within 5 days of the due date per the contract he signed when he rented the unit.   Further we do not appreciate the aggressive statements made by this customer toward our employee and suggest that if he is dissatisfied with our operation he should bring his bill current and vacate our facility.   Regards,     Turner Road Storage
