Turtle Tuff Overhead Door

from Turtle Tuff Overhead Door visited my home on November 4th to look at a large garage door project. *** has been working in the garage door business for more than 30 years, and said his team does things like this all the time, and could have it in before the freezing weather came, no more than 2-3 weeks at the latest. More likely it would be the following week as he just needed to pick up the door from Dallas, TX. At that time, *** took a deposit check for $4,000.00 (Nov 4th, 2019). *** nor anyone from Turtle Tuff ever returned to the property, never attempted to install a garage door, and never attempted to return my deposit despite many conversations over the phone and text messages.

I previously contracted Turtle Tuff Overhead Door, *** to put in a cantilever gate at my residence. He required a $2000 deposit and I wrote him a check for the amount. The job was to be done in "a couple of weeks." With many delays and excuses he eventually offered to return my deposit however, I was hopeful of getting the gate installed and gave him some grace. When I finally realized I was being scammed I asked for a refund and he assured me I would have it by November 1st. I called again on November 4th with no “check in the mail” to inquire and was faced with a very irate man.
Over the months I have been working on resolving this I have contacted his associates’ numbers only to find they all ring back to him. He answers to another name on different numbers. The numbers are from the “main office” in Texas to multiple numbers here in the Kansas City area including “***” which also rings directly to him.

I started complaining/pushing for closure on 9/19/2019 by calling and texting ***, he also answers to ***. I have records of contact 9/19, 9/20, 9/24, 9/25, 9/29, 10/4, 10/14, 10/15, 10/16, and 10/17 our last conversation he stated that he would be in touch...very soon... in a very irate tone.

I have been communicating with this company since 7/20/2019. The owner has lied numerous times about a part that he said he ordered and was on the truck for delivery. Also, I have contacted my my home maintenance provider about the concern. He (Jimmie) has lied to them also about ordering the part and its delivery. I spoke to my maintenance provider this morning at 9:30. The agent reached out to the service provider and he said the part would be here today. She also said. "He will contact you by 10:00 a.m.".
My garage door goes up and down all night. I woke up at 2:00 a.m. to find my garage door standing wide open. After numerous times of checking the door because I could hear it going up and down or just staying open. I disengaged the door and closed it manually. This is a safety issue and poor customer service. I'm concerned that someone could steal items from my garage or kick in my door and harm me!.
I have to get out of my car and go through the house to open my door. In the evening, after dark or the Winter this could be dangerous! I am mostly by myself and a senior citizen that is handicapped.Please advise.
