Dear Ms. Nolan,

I received Revdex.com Complaint ID: [redacted]) regarding a disturbing phone call received by [redacted]-[redacted]. I can assure you that TV Guide Magazine and no representative of TV Guide Magazine made that call.

Guide Magazine has no use for bank account routing numbers and we never ask for them. The answer the customer received from TV Guide Customer Service is correct - TV Guide does not process checks by phone. Further, the last record we have on a subscription for the [redacted] family is an order from 2009 that expired in August of 2010. This record isn't active on the TV Guide Magazine file and was not selected for any phone promotion.

We share this customer's outrage and are grateful that it sounds like [redacted]-[redacted] didn't share any sensitive financial information with the scam artist she encountered on the phone. TV Guide Magazine has a well recognized name and is unfortunately a target for people who want to use the magazine's good name for fraudulent practices.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Review: Unable to access the web site because they upgraded the software and lost my password. They asked me to send them my email address and the would send me an email with a link to reset my password. I never got an email. So, I emailed customer service and got no response.Desired Settlement: fix my access problems

Review: TV Guide called my Mom (87) Saturday morning, March 29, 2014, to offer her a "special" offer. and asked for her check book bank routing numbers.

I sent this to the e-mail listed on the website. Called this morning (3/31/14) when I couldn't get through and they said they are having trouble with the site. Also, TV Guide said they do not call and they are not allowed to accept checks over the phone.

This is on their site: ->You can email us at [redacted], call us at ###-###-#### or write:

I am quite surprised and appalled at your company's sales tactics to unsuspecting customers - in this case, my 87 year old Mom! On the morning of Saturday, March 29, 2014, your sales representative asked for my Mom's checking account bank routing numbers, after the credit card numbers were not given. My mother was to be charged over $200.00 for two years of service/$1.99 per issue. And this amount would be saving an additional $20.00 if she paid by check. Mom was happy to pay by check, thinking she would be paying a bill, not giving her account information over the phone. How odd that Mom would have been charged over $200.00 (including a $20.00 additional discount) / $1.99 per issue when I found the same subscription for $0.29 an issue on your online website - $16.90 per year, including an additional eight issues!

Again, to be clear, how reasonable are these amounts: $33.80 and over $200.00? Why would the $0.29 an issue amount not be offered and just billed to my Mom? I will be filing a complaint about your practices with both Revdex.com and the Attorney General's Office in Illinois. I do not appreciate anyone taking advantage of our elderly population for any amount.Desired Settlement: I want TV Guide to NEVER ask a potential/existing customer for check bank routing numbers.
