Twin Cities Auto Enterprise Reviews (%countItem)

I purchased a used car from Twin Cities Auto Enterprises that now needs significant repairs that have an approximate cost of $3,000 in total. I spoke with one of the owners, Quentin, about how I wanted a refund and to return the car. He gave me the run around like I did not know what I was talking about. He said he would be able to schedule the repairs if we drove down yet would not provide any information about the mechanics they work with. I had my mechanic try to get in contact with them and he was not able to get any answers to the multiple phone calls he did to the phone number we had used to contact Twin Cities Auto Enterprise initially about the car. I sent a letter via Certified Mail that included a statement about wanting to get my money back and that I would be taking further action. After receiving contact from them after they received this letter, I again was treated liked I did not know what I was talking about. They continued to talk about how the car was sold 'as is'. I told them it was dangerous to sell it 'as is' and how if there had been transparent about the issues with the car, I would not have decided to purchase it. On both my phone calls with Twin Cities Auto Enterprise, one with Quentin (6/3/19) and one with Cameron (6/12/19), they made claims about actions they said they did that did not happen. Upon our request for a CarFax on the day we ended up purchasing it, they both said they did not have it. On the phone calls, they made claims they had shown it to us, even when they did not. On both phone calls, they tried to convince me I did not know what I was talking about and that the quotes I had received for repairs were grossly determined by my mechanic.

Response received via fax to Revdex.com, 6-25-19 -- scan is attached; text reads as follows:

"The above referenced complaint regarding a Subaru sold 'as is' has been discussed with Twin Cities Auto Enterprise' customer. As was explained to the customer, Twin Cities Auto Enterprise is willing to have a local shop diagnose and fix whatever issue may exist. However, all costs associated with such repairs would be the responsibility of the customer. The customer turned down this good faith effort.

I am rejecting this response because:
I feel the effort from the company does not resolve the amount of issues and maintenance the car is going to require, or followed through with the request I have to receive a refund in full and return the car to them.

During the phones calls where they suggested doing maintenance with mechanics they often work with, neither were willing to give me the names of the shops they work with. I was told I had to make an appointment with Twin Cities Auto Enterprises, come down, and then they would have the appointment coordinated at the auto mechanic's shop. I feel this is deceiving and does not allow me to feel comfortable making a decision to get the car repaired 154 miles away from my home.

The repairs, at this time, are close to the value of the car and I feel they were not transparent about the status of the car. The CarFax they said they gave us, we never actually saw. I understand the 'as is' status the car was sold under, yet do not feel Twin Cities Auto Enterprises did their part to really look into the status of the car to know what they are selling.

I am planning to take further action if my initial request is not resolved.

Sincerely

May 10th we purchased a vehicle. The plastic piece on the back of the back seat was missing. He told us that he would get one for us and send it to us so we could install it. On the 13th when I called him about something else, he said he had it and would send soon. We still have not received it. I have called him 5 times since then and each time no one answered, so I left a message, but no response. We are also concerned that we still have not received our title yet, since we paid cash.

Also only giving one star.. because theres no option for zero stars...
So, I took interest in a Craigslist ad for a 2006 Ford f150 . Scheduled a time to go and take it for a test drive. Took it for a drive,
1. found that there were 11,000 miles more on the odemeter than this seller had told me ( told me 175,000 and there was 186,000).
2. The engine did not sound all that pristine..an odd knocking/ dull ticking.
3. Cig Ash in the center console. Seemed fairly fresh as well. I'm thinking one of these guys was using it as an everyday drive.
4. And a few minor Knicks and dings and rust. Nothing major, but definitely not as good of condition as was advertised.
So me and my friend get back after the test drive. Q asked me what I thought of the truck and before I could even answer/voice my concerns, he abruptly cut me off talking in depth about how wonderful this truck is and how much work has been put into it.
He begins pressuring me to buy it, asking how I'd like to pay for it. I explained to him that I had a few other trucks I wanted to look at before I decided. He then asked if I wanted to place a hold on it while I looked around. Asking for a down payment..I told him I don't have money for a down payment at this time. He persisted. Continuing to ask if I had any money at all for a down payment. 10$? 20$? 50$?. He then explained it to me in such a way that I could simply put a down payment on the truck, and with that, they would hold onto it for me until I decided. And if I decided I did not want to buy the truck, he would give me my money back. My friend that was with me understood him the same thing as I did.
I agreed to this, gave him 50$ on cash and signed a bill of sale (only 1 paper). Was given a receipt. Mmk, all good right? WRONG.
I decide to buy a different truck. I contact him explaining and that I'll be coming by to get my 50$. He then gets all snippy with me, saying I agreed to buy the truck and he expects me to come get it. I explained to him that I never agreed to purchase the truck and that my understanding was different than what he is saying. He got even more rude and topd me not to put words in his mouth. He insisted I had to come and buy the truck. I checked over the "bill of sale" I had signed and this pk has all his bases covered. In the fine print it says that any oral agreements made pertaining to this document are void...
So basically he lied to me and swindled me into signing. All he needed was my signature and that 50$ was pocketed.
DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS.
(Still resolving this issue, may post an update later)

Purchased truck from Twin Cities Auto Enterprise in Maplewood, MN. This vehicle was advertised in EXCELLENT condition. Made an appointment to look at the truck and agreed. I was not able to test drive the truck that evening as it was parked in an area where it could not be moved. I asked if I can start the truck he says that it was fine, just dont leave it on for too long (I assumed it was because the truck was in the garage) did not think anything to it as it started up fine. I proceeded to sit down with Mr *** talked to him about my current issue with the car I had, and why I was looking for another vehicle. He asked me what my credit score was. I told him around the 650. He said I was good. He asked me to fill out the application and grab him some documents that I will need to see if I was approved. Also he asked I have any money down, I told him I do not, I only have my trade in which was probably worth nothing. He said do not worry we will make a deal with the trade in, and to come back at 11am to see what he comes up with. I returned the following day at 11am. He told me that I was suppose to be a different location, he had the numbers ready for me to look at, I should rush over there, I told him I havent driven the truck yet. He says to take the truck around and dont go too far, you have to meet this guy before they close soon hes been waiting for you since 11am. Now I am dumbfounded. But, I figured I can not buy a truck without test driving it. I drove the truck looking to see if there's anything wrong, it seems like a great drive when you going 25 miles around the lot. Truck drives great, and agreed to look at my loan. He says to let the loan guy know that you put cash down not trade in. I got there and the loan guy ask how I put down on the truck cash or check for the amoutn $1700. I looked at him as that was a good trade in. Continue with my loan and left. The truck engine light came on a couple days later and have to figure out another loan for this

Response received via fax to Revdex.com -- scan is attached; text of letter reads as follows:

"Twin Cities Auto Enterprise sold a used truck 'as is' well under book value. The vehicle was in relatively excellent condition. The customer had an opportunity to test-drive the truck and was satisfied. The customer had the opportunity to purchase a vehicle service contract. This extended coverage product was explained to the customer, and refused. During the standard onboarding phone call with the lending institution, the customer was 'completely satisfied.' In short, Twin Cities Auto Enterprise provided the customer an excellent product as well as fair process.

Twin Cities Auto Enterprise was contacted by the customer a week or so after delivering the vehicle. During this phone conversation a laundry list of mechanical faults were brought up with the notion of having it already been inspected by a professional. The customer agreed to bring in the truck the following morning along with the invoice of repairs needed. The truck arrived with a hand written explanation of needed repairs and corresponding price figures. Twin Cities Auto clearly explained that any costs incurred for repairs needed would be the responsibility of the customer. Twin Cities Auto Enterprise offered to have a true diagnoses performed on the truck to which the customer agreed. A certified unbiased third party inspected the vehicle, and was unable to corroborate the majority of hand written concerns mentioned earlier.

In short, Twin Cities Auto Enterprise will not buy back the truck.

BUYER BEWARE! CAUTION! The only reason this company got one star is because it wouldn’t allow me to give ZERO STARS. Here is a company that gives the “used car salesmen a BAD name” The owners of this company (Twin Cities Auto Enterprise) are nothing but a bunch of THUGS and I truly mean THUGS/SCAM ARTISTS! I called on a Craigslist ad, a Jeep Wrangler that looked really nice in the pictures and was described as nice, low miles, perfect condition he also told me this on the phone, so I set up the appointment with the owner and made the 1 hour drive to go look at the vehicle. Needless to say this vehicle was a far from nice! Rust on every fender rust around the window rust on the tailgate rusty frame nothing but a rust bucket! I guess if you like rust and a oil leaker then it’s a nice vehicle Oh he also forgot to mention the oil leak under the vehicle, they obviously didn’t have enough time to clean up the oil leak on the floor as I got there before them!! The owner told me there’s no rust on the vehicle great condition good runner far from the truth. The pictures showed the odometer at 41,300 miles, but when I get there the odometer reads 141,300 miles! Whoever took the picture of the odometer Nice placement of the camera just enough of a side view shot to cut the 1 off of the 141,300 miles making it look like 41,300 miles! So as time goes by the owner finally shows up for his appointment to meet me roughly 45 minutes late! And says to me are you the guy that called on the Jeep and I said yup, I told him I really would have appreciated it if he would have been honest with me and told me about all the rust on the vehicle and the 141,300 miles that were on the vehicle! Needless to say he didn’t like what I had to say and told me to get the F out of his building as I did! He followed me outside and called me every name in the book and I exchanged a few words myself, and then all of sudden I believe it’s his son came storming out of the building and was yelling profanities at me and was telling me he was going to beat the living f out of me! Well they both jumped me throwing punches at me taking me to the ground and proceeded to kick me busted up my prescription glasses etc etc. I called the police the police arrived and told me that they couldn’t do anything because I didn’t have any witnesses! Unbelievable!! They conjured up this story saying I threw the first punch which is a complete LIE!! The only reason I’m filing a complaint is that I don’t want this to happen to someone else. This is no joke these guys are nothing but a bunch of THUGS AND SCAM ARTISTS.

I purchased a vehicle from tc auto enterprise in maplewood over 2 months ago. During my drive home with my purchased vehicle, the check enginfe light came on. I promptly called staff at tc auto about this and they stated had no knowledge of issues but could take a look at it. When I returned to their garage at agreed date, they stated their auto mechanic was out but I could reschedule a time later in the week. We agreed to a time for me to come back for repair work. The day of the rescheduled appointment, tc auto staff texted me to cancel as their mechanic is unable to see my car that day. I attempted reaching them dozens of times in the coming days and weeks, leaving voicemails and texts that went unanswered, in attempts to schedule a time to resolve my check engine light. TC auto staff ignored me for 2 months. I finally sought repair from a local repair shop who, upon fixing the issue, stated this has been a needed repair for far longer than what I have owned the vehicle for. What was suspected is tc auto temporarily masked the issue during test drive and after the purchase was made, ignored any responsibility. To make matters more frustrating, tc auto neglected to submit my title paperwork to the DMV until I contacted the DMV to step in. My plates arrived a month after my temporary permit expired and I have yet to receive the vehicle's title.

Revdex.com NOTE: Received 'initial' response from business via fax, 4/25/18:

"Mr *** did not purchase his vehicle from Twin Cities Auto Enterprise LLC. However, as an indirect party to the purchase we are aware of Mr *** and have since made every attempt to oblige his desired settlement (i.e., contact from Twin Cities Auto Enterprise LLC).

In closing, Twin Cities Auto Enterprise does not take responsibility for the actions of other dealers. Twin Cities Auto Enterprise LLC will make every effort to rectify any concern through better communication moving forward.

Revdex.com then contacted Twin Cities Auto Enterprise to clarify what this means -- spoke to owner Cameron ***, 5-10-18:

Mr *** indicates that the actual end "retailer" on this vehicle was Automotive Concepts (via AC Funding). But when he (Mr ***) became aware that Mr *** was having vehicle issues shortly after purchase, he told Mr *** that Twin Cities Auto Enterprise was willing to offer Mr *** repairs "at cost" -- i.e., at a lower rate than Mr *** might've been able to achieve on his own. He says Mr *** seemed to feel that Twin Cities Auto Enterprise should pay for the repairs outright, at no cost to him.

Mr *** acknowledges that the communication process kind of broke down at this point, and could've been handled better. But he says Twin Cities Auto Enterprise can no longer offer to participate in the cost of repairs on the vehicle, now that Mr *** has had repairs completed elsewhere.

As to the status of Mr ***' title, he says Automotive Concepts would've been responsible for submitting title transfer paperwork to the State of Minnesota.

My sister and I, went to look at a 2007 Toyota Rav4. The vehicle appeared to be in good condition, aside from minor cosmetic issues. The owner Quinton, would not allow a test drive. He said we should go out and drive other similar vehicles and come back when we are ready to buy. We said we have the cash, and wanted to test this vehicle. He said "Trust me, it runs perfect. If you test drive it I expect you to buy it." We would not agree to a purchase before test driving. Since I'm a female, I had my boyfriend call and inquire about the test drive. Quinton told my boyfriend that he could go and test drive but I couldn't. So we left, I would not recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle from this business, I would especially advise women to steer clear. I would give 0 stars is possible.

I purchased a 2007 Audi A4 quatro 2.0 Turbo on September 12th 2017 from Twin Cities Auto Enterprise in Maplewood, MN. I was told that this vehicle was in good working condition and I paid $4300 for it. 4 days later the check engine light appeared on the dash board of this vehicle and I had an inspection completed at Tires Plus in Minneapolis, MN the day that this occurred. Upon Tires Plus completing this inspection I was told by the mechanic that the engine codes on this vehicle appeared to be tampered with and/or deleted which is why the engine light on the dash board was not on the 4 days this vehicle was in my possession. This Mechanic also revealed that this vehicle needed a number of repairs including spark plugs and ignition coils. I spoke to the owner of Twin Cities Auto Enterprise ,Quentin *** father of Cameron ***, about the engine light and he advised me not to worry and that it probably needs a tune up. He also referred me to Expert Autos with claims that I can get a good deal on repairs needed. I brought the vehicle into Expert Autos on September 16th 2017 and had the repairs completed along with the tune up that was advised by Quentin ***. On September 23rd 2017 while on the freeway heading to dinner with my minor children under the age of 8, the car completely shut down on me. I had to get the vehicle towed from the freeway to Expert Autos. Expert Autos confirmed vehicle engine failure and advised me to contact Twin Cities Auto Enterprise where I purchased the vehicle from. I left several voicemail messages between September 23rd and October 4th for Quinton and Cameron *** but neither responded to my calls. I finally was able to get in direct contact with Quinton *** who agreed to meet with me regarding the issue with the vehicle on October 6th between the hours of noon and 4PM. When I arrived the business was closed. The owners did not respond to any phone calls I made after October 6th. They have made no attempts to resolve this issue.

Twin Cities Auto Enterprise Response

Revdex.com NOTE: Business response received via fax to Revdex.com -- includes copies of Bill of Sale, application for title, Buyer's Guide disclosures. Text of accompanying letter reads as follows:

"Mr. purchased his 2007 Audi A4 for $3,965 plus tax, title and license fees. Twin Cities Auto Enterprise has included the purchase contract, title paperwork, and Buyers Guide (As Is disclaimer) for review. Any further hearsay and assumptions are frivolous. Twin Cities Auto Enterprise will not entertain any kind of settlement.

Twin Cities Auto Enterprise neither tampered with the engine or control module of the sedan. At no time did Twin Cities Auto Enterprise Advise Mr. on how to handle maintenance of his used vehicle. All communication after the date of purchase with Mr. was unsuccessful due to his proclivity to making threats.

In closing, Twin Cities Auto Enterprise does not take responsibility for work performed by other vendors, nor does it take accountability for the actions of its customers.
