My name is Mike [redacted], the owner of Twin Cities Insurance Group.  I reviewed the complaint against my associate agent Ted [redacted] and find that he handled the quote properly.  He received the information from the potential client and gave him the quote on the information that...

was provided to him at the time.  As you will see on the actual quote sheet that was sent to him, it clearly states that "this is not a binding quote and terms may change after Motor Vehicle Reports are run." Ted also followed up with an email (see attached screen shot) where Ted asks the potential client if he has had any accidents in the last 3 years, and says he would have to run a MVR which is the only thing that could change pricing at this time.  
This is standard industry procedure, and carrier procedure as well as my agency procedure.   Many people are reluctant at first to provide personal information right away for varied reasons ranging from they don't want to give that personal information out to too many people,  or it might be that they have something on their record that they hope the insurance company will miss.  We work with the information we have to give the most accurate quote we can, with the information provided.  But in the end, the insurance carriers have complete control over what information they will need to provide insurance.  I don't know what the reasons where in this case but as far as the actions of my associate agent they where well in the lines of be not only acceptable but appropriate. 
I understand that sometimes people don't like the quote they received for many different reasons.  That is why we don't right 100% of people who inquire.  That being said Twin Cities insurance Group has a long history of being ethical and putting the needs of our community first.  We are sorry that this potential client feels that he was somehow misled.  But we feel strongly that this certainly was not the case.
