Review: I went to Twin Pine on June 26th with a specific car in mind. The sales person I dealt with was very nice. While working out details with him, another employee drove my vehicle to decide what they would offer for a trade-in value. When I pulled in the lot, my vehicle was in working (not perfect) order. I had left [redacted] 3 hours prior, and my vehicle was running and driving fine. When I left the lot in my vehicle, I noticed IMMEDIATELY that my brakes weren’t working properly. In retrospect, I should have turned around and walked right back into the office, but my number one concern was how I was going to get myself and my two young kids the hour drive home. The longer I drove, the worse they got until eventually my brake light came on, about 10 minutes down the road. I tried to call Twin Pines to speak with someone, but by that time, they were closed and no one answered the phone. I managed to get to [redacted] by using my emergency brake. I popped the hood, and saw immediately that I had no brake fluid. Went in, bought some, filled it up, and watched it all drain out of my ripped front passenger brake line.

I had my car towed from [redacted], to my home as it wasn’t safe to drive. First thing the following morning, I called and asked to speak with whoever had driven my car the night before. The gentleman who answered the phone asked who was calling, and if I had the small SUV. I said yes, and went on to explain what happened. He completely dismissed everything I said. My main points are: 1) My brakes and car were in functioning order when I pulled in. Then their employee drove my vehicle and it no longer functioned properly when I tried to leave. 2) [redacted] is not legally allowed to let me leave with a vehicle that wouldn’t pass inspection. Also, I’ve been going there for over 3 years, and they know both myself and my children by name. They would NEVER let me leave with someone that wasn’t safe. 3) The gentleman on the phone said that the person that drove my car never even took it on the road, which is a blatant lie. I saw, with my own two eyes, my car turn onto [redacted] Street. He also went on to explain that the man who drove my vehicle was so concerned about the safety of it that he wanted to speak to me. YET, when he handed me my keys, he did not say one word to me. The gentleman on the phone had nothing to say other than, “That would never happen here. Those aren’t our business practices” and was completely dismissive of the very valid points I made. Buyer beware….Desired Settlement: I think I should be reimbursed for the repairs/parts for my vehicle which the gentleman at Twin Pine caused during his trade-in test drive of my vehicle.

Review: We purchased a 2011 [redacted] on March 11, 2014. This car dealer clearly advertises it's cars are "Guaranteed Clean [redacted] History Report". Our sales person reiterated to us via email on August 6, 2014, that "As far as the [redacted] is concerned, we don't sell any cars that don't come with the [redacted] Buy Back Guarantee." We were shown an [redacted] at the time of purchase and told explicitly the vehicle had no accident history. On August 2, 2013, we had a [redacted] run on our vehicle, due to ongoing concerns related to a clicking in the driver's side wheel well. [redacted] indicated the vehicle had, in fact, been in an accident. We then had the car appraised, and it was found to have had significant driver's side impact damage from front wheel well to rear fender. We have now learned that Twin Pine Auto Group does not, and has not had a [redacted] account for the past three years. Their owner, Gary Z[redacted], informed me, "When you purchased the [redacted], we did not have an account with [redacted] and we still do not to this day." He also stated that, "Since we know that [redacted] has more information sources than [redacted], we can safely disclose the " [redacted]guaranteed clean [redacted] history report[redacted]" on our cars."

We NEVER would have traded in our [redacted] for the [redacted] had we known this vehicle had been in an accident. The accident occurred on May 17, 2012, almost 2 years prior to our purchase. When our sales person told us the vehicle was "clean", we trusted a [redacted] had actually been run on the vehicle. We have had the car appraised and have been explicitly told by three different auto dealers that should we desire to trade the car in, we would be given significantly less in trade value due to the accident history. We have asked Twin Pine Auto Group to purchase the vehicle back from us in the amount of $33,008, which is the [redacted] Blue Book Fair Purchase Price. We asked for this amount, even though we still owe more than this on the vehicle. This covers the purchase price of the vehicle; taxes; surcharges; fees; money we paid within a month of purchase to replace a battery Twin Pine allegedly fixed before purchase; installation of a window screen they failed to show us was broken, then refused to fix after purchase; and additional money to cover part of the inequity from our trade-in. We do feel this is a reasonable settlement due to Twin Pine Auto Group utilizing deceptive business practices and false advertising.Desired Settlement: Our desire is to have Twin Pine Auto Group purchase this 2011 [redacted] back from us at the price of $33,008. We would satisfy the remainder of the loan and the title for the vehicle would be returned to Twin Pine Auto Group.

Review: I recently purchased a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country van from Twin Pines Auto Sales. [redacted], our salesman, was knowledgeable and courteous. The buying experience was very smooth. We sought a well equipped van and listed Bluetooth audio as one of the primary requirements. The salesman told us that this car was equipped with Bluetooth. We left the day after purchasing the vehicle for a 13 day vacation. After we purchased the car and reviewed the Owner's Manual DVD, we quickly discovered that it wasn't so equipped. When we returned, we immediately called and confronted the salesman. He simply said he was sorry for his mistake. He appeared earnest, but told me that it is difficult for him to determine if it is Bluetooth-equipped and that there was nothing that could be done. The estimated cost to resolve this issue is to replace the radio with a blue tooth-enabled system at a cost of approximately $500.

A second problem concerned a leak in a tire. We spotted the leak prior to purchase and were told that it would be fixed for the next day when we picked it up. We were told that they checked it and a valve stem problem was identified and repaired. However, the tire continued to leak. When asked to repair the leak, the salesman and the sales manager refused. A tire shop found a screw had penetrated the tread and repaired it for $20.Desired Settlement: Either exchange the van for a similar one with the desired features, with Buyer paying the net difference in list price, or a check for $520 to pay for the exchange of the radio and repair of the tire.
