About a year ago, a tenant complained to me about a "poop smell" coming up from her sink and tub drain in her bathroom. I called Twirl and they checked into it. They said there was nothing wrong and gave her a card to call them if she smelled it again. She did and she called them. He came back and again said there was nothing wrong. Then I met him over there and he walked through the ENTIRE building with me and told me that she was probably smelling some foul air coming in from her roof vent where her bathroom exhaust fan was vented. I accepted his analysis, thinking that he was a sewer specialist and that he would know if something was wrong with the sewer. Well, a couple of days went by and she smelled it again. Another tenant was with us in the building and told us that something was leaking in the basement, where the Twirl SEWER technician was several days prior. I went with the tenant down to the basement and found a SEWER pipe leaking all over in the crawl space. I called Twirl and they informed me that they didn't work on sewer pipes, and that I'd have to call a plumber. So I called a plumber and it was an extensive leak that the Twirl technician should easily have been able to figure out days prior. I ended up spending $1500.00 for repairs and cleanup of the situation. Then Twirl sent me a bill for $75.00 because the technician had been there and told me it was foul air! I didn't pay the bill for the longest time and then Twirl sent me to collections. Finally I paid the collection because my credit is good and I didn't want a collection on my credit. Now tonight, about a year later, I was informed by the same tenant that complained a year ago about the smell that Twirl is telling people that I don't pay my bills and talking very nastily about me. So here I am! Yes, I paid the collection and no, the Twirl technician did absolutely nothing to help the situation. As a matter of fact, he made it worse by stating there was nothing wrong and letting numerous days go by so that the leak became even worse! And it ended up costing me thousands not only for a plumber to spend half the night repairing it but also for me to hire a cleanup crew to dispose of the sewage and sterilize the basement so people wouldn't get sick!

Review: I called Twirl because I had water backing up in my basement every time I drained my kitchen sink or my washing machine drained. I was quoted a fee of $135.00. I asked if there was an additional fee for coming to Luxemburg. I was told no. Bob the serviceman put an auger down the drain and said it came back shiny and gritty and couldn't get through. He told us he wasn't sure what the problem was but he thought it may be a broken pipe under the basement floor and we would have to bust up the floor to get to it and we would have to call someone else. Then he said again i'm not not sure what it is but it definitely is not a clog. So we called a plumber and he came out. The plumber said I hate to start busting up the floor if you don't even know where the break is so he called someone to make sure it wasn't a clog. The serviceman that came put the auger down and it was a clog which he was through in less then 5 minutes. That bill was $228.00 and the Twirl bill was$180.00, $50.00 more then I was quoted because there was a $50.00 fee for coming to Luxemburg even though I was told there wouldn't be. I was never told they guarantee their work and would come back. They said they couldn't fix it. I don't feel as though I should have to pay 2 businesses to do the same job. I stopped payment on the check I gave Twirl and they said if I don't pay it they will turn me over to a collector.Desired Settlement: I do not want my credit ruined by being sent to a collector so I want that stopped. Also I was told to sent a copy of this to Twirl Sewer Service Co. but I do not have a printer.

I am sending along a Copy of [redacted] invoice so you can see what was done. Regarding the cable coming back gritty & shiny, that usually indicates a problem in the line, as [redacted] was told .

Instead of costing the customer a lot of money working on a problem line , we suggest that they have it televised which we also do and which [redacted] was told . She chose not to have this done .

He also noted on the invoice that the water goes down as soon as you stop running water, so this line was not completely clogged . it was draining when he left . He did not tell her she would have

to break-·up her basement , why would he do that when we didn't know the problem because she wouldn't have it televised . Because it was slowly draining it would also be easy for someone to come

in and poke a hole in it to get it running again, but that was not addressing her problem . When I talked to [redacted] I asked her if she had the line televised yet and she said no.

She was never told that there would be no service call to Luxemberg . I took this call myself and I tell out of town people of the charge so they are aware of it . I told [redacted] I would adjust her bill to $130.00

from 5180.00 . I would only charge her for the out of town service call of $ 45.00 and $85.00 for the time our service tech had on the job . She was not interested . I Did try to work with her but I will not work

for free so she can pay the second man that came . I did tell [redacted] that I would have to turn her in to collection if she chose not to pay her bill . I do that with any customer that refuses to pay a bill . I hope this

gives you me kind of insight into this incident.
