Twisted Terror Convention Reviews (3)

Hello Sir,
We will not reinstate your table here at Twisted Terror We dropped you for several reasons, but the main reason was due to some of our Celebrity guests and how they did not feel safe with you there You spend a good amount of your time slandering
women in horror, which is a lot of the talent we support and were seeking for our convention We lost a great sponsor because we had you as a vendor Once we dropped you as a vendor, we got a new sponsor
We have noted a lot of your rants and can provide them if you would like You are well known for slandering and bullying your way through the horror community We can even get a lot of testimony from those who have dealt with you in the past and not in a positive way Our celebrity guests are the reason our fans come out We do not want our first year to be associated with the negativity you produce Anyone who states they stand by our side you slander as well
You were a vendor and we had every right to drop your contract and did nothing illegal by doing so We as convention organizers can drop any contract, for any reason if a guarantee amount is stated in the contract, then we must pay that amount to the celebrity guest Many folks are standing behind our decision.
All of the slandering and threats you send our way, we are documenting
-***

I am rejecting this response because:
The statement made by
Twisted Terror Convention that their “celebrity” guests did not feel safe with
me at the convention is without substantiation and without warrantThere were
neither court orders nor restraining orders to add substance to their statement regarding guest unease. Also, I have never threatened
anyone involved with physical harm, which would also be a reason not to have me, but
alas I have notSo, there was no legal ground for them to make such statements against me
Also, *** *** had made the statement that I’m slandering
and threatening him, his associates, and his conventionThis is absurdI am a
consumer that came to Twisted Terror Convention to provide me a serviceThat
service was a venue to present myself to my fans and interact with horror fans
They will try to make out I was the one doing a service for them and they
cancelled that serviceThat is not trueI signed an agreement and paid a fee
to reserve my place in the venue and in fact I was guaranteed my table and
appearanceThey violated that agreement and guarantee so as a consumer I have
the right to complain and make this publicIf anything I'm making the public aware of how Twisted Terror Convention conducts business and treats artists
Also *** *** made it out that my single presence as a
participant at the convention caused them to lose a sponsorI find this an
amazing claimI alone, a single author, have the power and the reputation
strong enough to make a sponsor walk out on a conventionThat is an amazing
suggestion, but it doesn’t sound reasonable
Also, Mr*** has made accusations against me calling me a
bully and a slandererI would like to see his evidenceIn fact I’m a strong
proponent of anti-bullyingI just finished working on a film with a strong
anti-bullying themeAlso, the book I’m currently working on has an
anti-bullying themeIf anything I have defended people against online bullying
by the same people *** *** will have give evidence of my supposed bullying
Also, what *** and others call my bullying and slander are in fact my
attempts to defend myself from the continual attacks by these very peopleThe
fact is in my commentaries and criticisms on my blog and my radio show I have
pointed a spotlight on the people *** would put up as my denouncers and shown
them as bullies themselvesThis has gotten me a lot of enemies among the
cliques that think they rule the horror communityRather than backing their
accusations with cold hard facts like I do, these people instead do nothing but
character assassination and libeling with no substantiation to back anything up
In fact it is that I’ve had to publically defend women who are been harassed
and victimized by the “ambassadors” of the organization known as Women in
Horror MonthFor instance these ladies publically ganged up on one of their
own members, *** ***, after she had been brutally attacked and assaulted in
a shopping center parking lot and tossed in a bumpsterThese “ambassadors”
called *** a liar and harassed her incessantlyI went to ***’s defense
because they were harassing an already traumatized woman and I couldn’t stand
by like most of the horror community and let this continueAlso, a number of
the “Women in Horror” attacked actress *** *** and posted swastikas’ and
other Nazi symbols and called themselves Feminazis as they attacked her, acting
like it was a big jokeI went to her defense as well, which really pissed WIHM
offThis is supposed to be an organization whose mission is to support and get
women who are not being recognized the recognition they deserveThe only thing
is all they do is attack other women and promote only their own members Everything I have said online in regard to
“Women in Horror” can be substantiatedThese are the people *** *** would
have you believe are victims, while I’m the nasty harasser of themI don’t
think so
Kicking a person out of an event because of political bias
is not legal either, which *** ***’s statement in regard to WIHM clearly
showsIn regard to my statements online, they did not even involve the people
in Twisted Terror Cons present convention lineupAlso my statements in regard
to “Women in Horror” as an organization has been that they self promote their
members instead of focusing their mission statement, which is getting
recognition for women artists who are ignored in the industryThat is not
slander it is factAlso The Women in Horror member *** *** more than
likely is mentioning, and who has since walked out on the convention in a huff
because *** wouldn’t kick out three other guests she didn’t like, only
dislikes me because I blocked a couple of
her friends (*** and *** ***) on FacebookIt is not a good enough reason to kick a person out just
because people don’t personally like themAlso, the terms bullying and
slandering are inaccurate about my editorials on the horror communityI put
the spotlight on the wrongs that are driving the horror community downOn my
blog, I tell the truth about what the horror community has become and I back
everything I say with factsThe truth cannot be called slander, libel or
bullying according to the law of the landThe truth is if all conventions used
Twisted Terror Con’s standards and policies to run their events two thirds of
the celebrities in horror would be ejected from conventions at the whims of
othersThat isn’t a good enough reasonPeriod
Now, let’s get to the crux of the matter, the contract I
signedNowhere in that contract was I called a vendor, I was called an Artist
It is the industry standard that artists that pay a fee for their tables are
put on the guest page of the convention website and they are promoted like the non-paying
guests, something Twisted Terror Con didn’t do with meI got no promotion at
all from them and was not even announced as being part of the conventionOf
course the moment they kicked me out they started announcing and promoting
every vendor and participant in the conventionI would call that biasAlso,
just to make it clear, according to contract law if it isn’t in the contract it
doesn’t existNo where in that contract was there a clause saying Twisted
Terror Con could cancel my contract at their discretion? What there is is
guarantee of my table and my appearance at the convention. On top of that, I have agreements by email
that I would be a part of the VIP party as well as get additional Artist passes
for my table crewSo, according to contract law even if Twisted Terror Con
sent me my table fee back they are still held libel to provide me with my
guaranteed venue, even if it was another convention and at their own expenseThat is the lawI
was guaranteedTwisted Terror Con broke my contract without actually having
the written right to do so, so they are in breach and libel according to the
law
So they owe me

Review: I signed up as a featured artist at the event Twisted Terror Convention. I paid my fee, $50, and was guaranteed a table and appearance at this event. I signed in February of 2013. I spent nearly a year promoting this event. I even helped to get them a guest for this event, actor [redacted]. The organizers of the event, [redacted] and [redacted] don't promote my appearance at the convention in any way the entire time. They didn't even announce my appearance like other participants. Then on January first the sent me the following letter and cancelled my contract: Twisted Terror Productions Email: [redacted] P.O. Box 785. Lathrop CA 95330 Dear [redacted], aka [redacted], We regret to inform you that we will be cancelling your Artist contract with us. Unfortunately, your attendance conflicts with some of our current Celebrity guests. Be on the lookout for you $50.00 deposit. We will make it out to [redacted], unless you need it made out to someone else. This was a Team decision, so please stop all emails to [redacted]. We have made this decision and we are not turning back. Our number one priority is our Celebrity guests and making sure that their comfort level is at 100%. We will be removing you from our website this week. This is outrageous. I had done nothing to earn this. Basically they are saying because a couple of celebrity guests don't personally like me that that gives them reason to break my contract with them and throw me out of the event. This is completely unprofessional and is a frivolous excuse after nearly a year to break my contract.Desired Settlement: I expect reinstatement and as compensation I get full status as a guest on the guest list for the event, full promotion, and the convention pay for my hotel. They have caused me considerable embarrassment and it will be hard to get into other events because the hit to my reputation because of this disgrace
