Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: On March 6th, I test drove a vehicle from Northway AutomotiveAfter the test drive, I told the sales representative that the steering was very stiffI was told that this issue would be checked out and that all vehicles are serviced before the saleThis led me to believe that the steering would be fixedI was called by Northway automotive and told that everything checked out and the vehicle was ready to be picked upI scheduled to pick up the vehicle on March 10th thinking I would have no problems with the steering according to our conversation. On the drive home, the steering was still very stiff, requiring both hands to steer the vehicleThis is the same problem I had experienced during the test driveI was not able to call Northway automotive that evening because they had closed shortly after I picked up the vehicleI called on March 12th to let them know that the problem I experienced on the test drive and was told would be fixed, was still thereI was told by the sales representative that I should get an estimate for repairs? ? The first estimate was unable to be completed because Northway Automotive did not provide me with the tool to remove the lug nuts from the tiresThis began a series of phone calls and emails just to get the special lug nut removal tool.? A couple of weeks, I was finally provided a tool by Northway automotive yet I was still waiting to resolve the original steering problem? I provided Northway with an estimateI did not hear from them even after several calls and emails? I then received a phone call from Northway Automotive asking for the GVW of the vehicle.? This phone call was received two days after my temporary registration had expired.? I asked about the steering issue, and at that time was told that I would need a second estimate.? Estimate #was faxed within a few days.? Two estimates later, several phone calls, un-kept promises of callbacks and unanswered emails about the steering problem that was told would be taken care of has led me to file a complaint with the Revdex.com.Due to the unsafe driving conditions caused by the steering, I have paid to have the problem fixed out of my funds.? Please see the attached bill from [redacted] The total amount to fix the steering issue was a total of $including 6% sales tax.? Picture of the cost of repairs is attached.? I would like Northway to pay this amount to resolve the issue Regards, [redacted] ***

I am emailing in reference to the may 4, letter my office received in reference to ID# *** I events that were stated seem to be a little different from our perspectiveAgain the issue with the rim locks did occur and even though the car was sold cosmetically “ as is” we found and purchased a wheel lock for him ,free of charge, after he could not find anyone that could locate it During the time between us finding one and him receiving it we asked him to get a estimate for the work and he explained to us until he had the lock he could not get a correct diagnosis of the vehicle because the wheel needed to be removedSo we told him once the lock comes please get it looked at so we can see if it is anything that we cover on our warranty which is major components of the engine and Transmission ( steering is not part of) which any repairs would have to be at dealership mechanical shops Then some time passed and he calls up and asked us what we are doing about the situation and we said we are waiting for the diagnosis( we were trying to save him time and money because if we diagnose it and it wasn’t covered it would of a waste for him to travel). He complained that no one said that to him and within a few days he sent over an estimateDuring that time of asking again for the estimate he filed with the Revdex.com with out knowing what the outcome was from the fax… Actually he was on the phone with myself as I was reading the letter that came from the Revdex.comI explained to him that since this complaint was brought to the Revdex.com that I would have to go through the Revdex.com so there would be no confusionHopefully the time line is more in toe nowCustomer service is very important for us and we have tried to help this customer and like I stated in the emails before that the work done to the vehicle does not fall under the warranty coverage Please email or call with any other information you would need to resolve this matter

We at Northway Automotive Incjust received a letter from you and would like to make sure that we are handling this promptly? After reading the complaint I want to express that Northway always make sure we do our best to take customer issues seriously and promptly? Mr
***? purchased the used vehicle with a standard day or 1000/mile which ever comes first on the power train which consists of the major components of the engine and transmission.? He has copies of the signed bill of sale and the buyer guide that shows our warranty of this vehicle.? Mr***? purchased said vehicle on 3/10/with the understanding that we looked at any issues before purchase and after further mechanical review there was no issues warranted for repairsThere have been a few people that were speaking with Mr***? in reference to his concerns, which were, a special lug lock for his wheels which he was having difficulty finding one which we found for him and mailed it once he brought it to our attentionAlso he was complaining about a power steering issue that his mechanic could not give a proper diagnosis on it since the tire could not be taken off(which is why we sent a lock to help him)We were waiting for the revised diagnosis which we just got faxed over 3/30/around pmWe have been more then accessible and were waiting for this diagnosis.? Unfortunately the issues that he has sent over do not fall under the warranty that we provided? Thank you for bringing this to our attention as we take pride in making sure any concerns of customers are investigated
