Two Men and A Truck Reviews (%countItem)

The movers damaged my furniture. I filed a claim and the company refused to take responsibility, falsely claiming that I waived my liability insurance
I hired Two Men and a Truck to move my home furniture on June 6, 2020 to a local address. During the move, the movers chose to haul some of my furniture by hand, instead of using a handtruck, which was a concern for me. There were times when they pushed and dragged my furniture across the floor. Although the furniture was wrapped in plastic, they suffered damages due to the movers' neglect and mishandling. After the move and upon careful inspection of my furniture, I found 7 damages altogether, amounting to $230 in repair costs, which I documented with photos and filed a claim with the company on June 14, 2020. On July 8, 2020, they responded with a refusal, stating that they won't take responsibility and claiming that I signed a release of liability. I do not recall ever signing a release or agreeing to waive my liability, when in fact, it is mandated by federal law for them and all movers to offer liability insurance for their customers. I responded on July 8, 2020, requesting the movers to provide proof of their determination for denying my claim, and requested for them to take responsibility and reasonable action to settle my claim as mandated and covered under their insurance policy.

Desired Outcome

According to the movers' insurance policy as mandated by federal law, the movers are required to cover the costs of the damages they caused to my property. I have filed a claim and submitted sufficient documentation and evidence. They need to settle my claim and cover the costs of damages to my property, totaling $230, which is covered under the basic liability insurance mandated by federal law. They also need to retract their statement that I released liability, which is outrageous. Why would a customer waive their rights that are protected under law?

This company did not fully abide by our contract and has charged me full price for services they did not complete.
I contracted with Two Men and A Truck to fully wrap all large items and pack my 1-bedroom apartment on May 8, 2020. The employees violated the contract by not wrapping any furniture as notated by ***, representative for Two Men and a Truck. I spoke with *** and with the Manager and neither are willing to refund my money, although they have recognized the notes were not followed by the packers. The notes list that the backs of both couches are to be taken apart broken down wrapped, as well as the dining room table with 2 chairs and 1 settee, television console, dresser, benches, floor mirror, queen headboard, footboard and all side rails. The negligent and malicious acts of the packers have caused damage to my furniture and extra out of pocket costs to me for not following my instructions as contracted. Two Men and a Truck is trying to charge me $691.09 for packing less than 30 boxes. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was not able to travel back to California to pack the items myself so I entrusted Two Men and A Truck with my items and now I feel that Two Men and A Truck are taking advantage of the fact that I was not there in person.

Desired Outcome

I request a full refund in the amount of $691.09. I have attempted to settle this matter with the company directly and they are not willing to discuss past we were there and pack boxes.

1.Hired 1/23/20 to move around corner, surprise mileage charge of $120
2. *** sold me "insurance"on phone, movers destroyed antique and won't pay
Hired Two Men and a Truck to move my 1BR to a 2 BR around the corner. Prior to move, *** sold me "additional insurance" for about $100. The men were less than professional, I pointed out specifically the two antique pieces to handle with care. only one survived. they took many more hours than estimated, and by the end I was having them just bring everything off of the truck and placing it in the living room so we could stop the billing clock. The broken piece was placed in the center with sofas all around and I did not even get to it for two full days. When I did, I found the top had been split in two and the inside was askew as though it had been dropped. I had tipped those men very well and they hid the damaged item and split. I was heartbroken, as piece means more to me than what it may even be worth. I let the company know that I had incurred damage and needed to file a claim. they gave me an email address to send pictures and the complaint to. I sent my claim in on 2/28/20 and got no response. I sent it again on 3/5/20 and on 3/18/20 I received an email denying my claim:
"we are not a licensed insurance company and do not sell insurance. What you purchased was "Additional Protection", and purpose of additional protection is to provide our customers with a level of protection should an item be damaged by our actions. Time, Wear, and tear causes items to degrade over time which in turn will make them brittle and susceptible to cracking/breaking. This combined with craftmanship is the cause of the break with the end table."

this is absurd! the antique has patina, scratches, yes, it's a wood "icebox" from before refrigerators were invented. However, it was a solid wood cabinet with a lid in one piece! when then left it was hiding behind other furniture and the lid was clearly in two pieces. they charged me an exorbitant fee, and some gas/equipment charge that seems absolutely illegal - they moved me around the corner! They have since denied my appeals via email twice and I feel I must report them over the principle of the matter - now I see that they already have an F rating :( should have checked first.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking reimbursement in the amount of $*** for my antique icebox which was in one solid piece in my home for many years. This piece has its roots in Amish country of PA, where I grew up, and has been in my family for a long time. I have used many movers over the years who have successfully moved the cabinet forr= me in the past, but this SLEAZEBALLL company managed to: 1. sell me "some additional protection" that does not cover the damage (what did it cover?) 2. break the piece - clearly someone dropped it. 3. hide the damage from me as I handed them each a $50 tip. no integrity whatsoever - and now they are denying the claim that doesn't even make it right.
