Two Men Tree Trimming

Review: Mark E[redacted] is the owner of Two Men Tree Trimming. After hearing that I was looking for someone to fix my flat rubber roof he wanted to bid the job. From the very start I told him that the reason the roof was leaking was because when it was originally installed it was not done correctly. I stressed very heavily that the problem was that no termination of any kind was installed where the flat part of the roof met the front vertical wall. Wind came through the brick and lifted the rubber which in turn pulled it out of the termination bar at the top of the vertical section causing leaking. I told him to use batten bar and later told him a more updated approach would be to use something called RPS. He assured me that he worked for 3 years for a roofing company and that his son was working for one and they could handle it. He brought me a list of materials from a local store and asked for $600 to buy the materials (which totaled $554.96). I gave him the money. He also asked for $800 to complete the job.As I am physically unable to go up on the roof I had to rely on Mr. E[redacted] to complete the job as requested. I must have brought up the transition termination with him at least 20 times. He just told me "I got this". Upon completion of the job he collected his money and left (Ended up being negotiated to $750 but he already had an extra $45 from the materials. I asked him for the receipt for the materials for my records and he told me he didnt have one because he didnt go buy the materials where he said. When I pressed him he said he got the rubber from a different source and already had the rest of the materials.We got the first rain about a week later and the leak was worse than it had ever been. Upon investigation he had not terminated the transition on the roof at all. He had basically pulled up a non-torn piece of a rubber and put another one down exactly the same way. He also didn't even put screws everywhere needed in the termination bar and left a section wide open. The wind had already started to blow the rubber back the way the old one was leaving an air gap underneath the transition and stretching it out. He also left tons of garbage all over the roof as well as several screws and bent pieces of metal.I gave Mr. E[redacted] an opportunity to fix the roof and also as I had no faith he could do it correctly since her didnt to begin with gave him an opportunity to refund $400 which was more than fair. He did nothing but complain and tell me it was a non-warranted patch job which was not true at all. I spent 4 years doing non-warranted patch jobs. This was the time I was investing the money to fix it right which is why I spent so much money to replace the whole section. He completely missed the reason why I was even doing the work and wasted my money. I am out $1400 and my roof is worse than before. In addition my tenants now have personal belongings getting ruined from the leaks.Desired Settlement: I have had a professional roofer quote me $600 to fix Mr. E[redacted]'s mess. I would like $600 refunded to me to pay for these repairs.
